  1. Peerless Price. I'm sure Atlanta loved how that turned out.
  2. "Bills-like" would be using a first round pick on a defensive player when we have the #2 ranked defense overall & the 30th ranked total offense with a young QB who lacks surrounding talent that you invested heavily in last year. In other words, an inexplicable move that seems to defy logic. Or drafting a RB in the first round when you have a Pro Bowl RB. Or drafting another RB in the first round to replace that previous first round RB. Or drafting ANOTHER RB in the first round to replace that first round RB (when you even have a starter-caliber backup behind that guy...YAY for 3 starting RBs!). They may stay put at 9, but if they have one or two WR's they love that would be around regardless, they should definitely explore moving back & getting the best value. No need to pull a 2006 all over again, drafting Donte Whitner 8th overall when he would've never been taken that high by anyone else.
  3. I like that too. O-line help and a big WR threat, what more is there to like?
  4. Wtf do they need an ADDITIONAL $250 million for?! Their players get paid $250k over 3 years, so with only 8 teams of 52 players, that'd be $34.6 million a year. Assuming they've already been paid each week, that number would be even less to cover all the remaining contracts for the year. Factor in coaching salaries, which we can pretend add up to half of that (which there's no way in hell, but just for laughs), that'd be $51.9 million. Even accounting for venue costs, operations, marketing, etc. that wouldn't come out to more than the player contracts, but let's throw another imaginary $34 million (again, there's no possible way with their size anything is costing nearly that much), and that would total $85.9 million for the entire year. So assuming the players have been getting paid up until this point, and assuming they're not bringing in $0 dollars in revenue (no, not profit, just revenue), how could they possibly need $250 million, and an "EMERGENCY" $250 million at that!!???! Another poster pointed out that in order to operate the entire NFL, running all 32 teams and paying all players & employees, it costs $180 million a week total. Yet this small startup with 8 teams, is going to just need $70 million more than that?! Even the XFL isn't going to require that much... Vince McMahon said it's going to cost $500 million over 3 years, which breaks down to $166 million per season. And you know damn well that's going to include a lot more marketing & spending than this league, so how did it just suddenly need $250 million out of nowhere? Did some regular fan just walk into a bank & say "hey, can you give me a blank check to start a football league?" without a dollar to his name, all while getting everything for free up until this point, and just suddenly realize "oops, I need to pay for things tomorrow!" Point is, I don't get the amount, or the "emergency" aspect of this.
  5. https://draftwire.usatoday.com/2019/02/19/2019-nfl-mock-draft-4-rounds-trades-combine-dwayne-haskins-kyler-murray-drew-lock-quinnen-williams-nick-bosa/ Round 1: 14. Buffalo Bills (from ATL)* | D.K. Metcalf | WR | Ole Miss Another team that moves back and still lands the player they likely would have picked at their original spot, the Bills get a huge win with this scenario. Adding extra picks and still getting the most complete pass-catcher in this draft would be a great start to a draft that has to be about building around Josh Allen. Round 2: 40. Buffalo Bills | Garrett Bradbury | OL | North Carolina State 45. Buffalo Bills (from ATL)* | Andre Dillard | OT | Washington State Round 3: 74. Buffalo Bills | Devin Singletary | RB | FAU Round 4: 105. Buffalo Bills | Montre Hartage | CB | Northwestern 110. Buffalo Bills (from ATL)* | Emanuel Hall | WR | Missouri 124. Buffalo Bills (from KC) | Renell Wren | DL | Arizona State If the Bills traded back to acquire another 2nd & 4th round pick, then ended up drafting a WR & 2 x O-linemen with their first 3 picks, I'd be overjoyed. Unfortunately, it'd be far more Bills-like to go defense yet again, or use another first round pick on a RB. A man can dream though, and taking the offense seriously, especially O-line, would bring a smile to my face. Not quite sold on D.K. Metcalf though. The guy definitely fits the athletic "freak" moniker that's so easily thrown around, I mean just look at him - https://247sports.com/Article/Dk-Metcalf-NFL-Draft-muscle-photo-viral--128993072/ (yes, he's the guy on the left!), but he only played in 7 games last year & is relatively inexperienced being a sophomore. Scouts think he's got too much upside though, so who knows.
  6. Not reading through the entire thread... No point in arguing anymore when it's clear that he definitely is inaccurate if you watch any of his games. The fact that in the title it references specific years of a player instead of the player's entire career says quite a bit too. Allen has had the same accuracy issues since he's been playing. If this was an anomaly of a year, sure, you have a point. But it's the same as the year before, and the year before, and the year before... That's a pattern. That's not a random bad year. He's playing the EXACT same way he always has. Unlike other rookies, if you took Allen's best year in college & had him repeat it in the NFL, he'd be a disappointment if he didn't improve. If you took someone like Baker Mayfield's best year in college & had him play that way in the NFL, he'd be an MVP. Look at Mahomes, he's playing like he did in college & was dominant. Allen's best year wouldn't sniff dominant, let alone top tier in the league. Accuracy is a big reason why.
  7. ? I still randomly say "You have to feed me horse eggs" because of the first one. My wife loves these because of how ridiculous that first one was.
  8. Yes, the Rams haven't been the beneficiary of any bad calls... and certainly have every right to cry about officiating injustice!
  9. As much as I tend to hate the sappy commercials that try to get all mushy & pull on your heart strings, the Anthony Lynn one where he met all the first responders, medics, and emergency staff that helped save his life the night he was in a car accident & almost died being shot from his car is what I considered the best commercial. It didn't feel forced & fake, and you could tell Lynn was genuinely surprised & emotional when they came out to meet him. I really felt for him, and it was awesome to see his joy & gratitude like that. But if it was any other year, the Bud Knight/Game of Thrones commercial would've been #1 for me.
  10. When talking about the GOAT conversation in North American sports on PTI, they discussed Brady & now comparing him to Jordan. Then they had this exchange that made me think Kornheiser is an idiot, watch the full exchange here - Kornheiser: "You know, I'm not saying he's better, I'm saying they are shoulder to shoulder in the annals of history. Wilbon: "Yeah, and they were shoulder to shoulder already." Kornheiser: "I don't know that, I don't know that.....If they had lost this to go 5 & 4, I don't know. 6 is magic." Uh what? What makes six championships in the NFL more "magic" than five? Five had NEVER been done before by any QB, so you're telling me not only did Brady matching Joe Montana & Terry Bradshaw in the era of Free Agency not qualify, but being the first & likely only QB to ever win 5 Super Bowls, as well as having played in 8 up until that point not convince you? He had to win six...IN THE NFL...to be adequately comparable to Jordan? Why? Jordan is a legend, yes. But even if he is the GOAT, 6 rings isn't the pinnacle of his sport and isn't what cemented him as the GOAT, so why does the number 6 for championships translate to a magic number? Kareem had 6, several more have 7-10, and Bill Russell has freaking 11, so why isn't 11 the "magic number?" I mean it's just as arbitrary as 6 when applied to the NFL, so I think it's pretty stupid to say Brady's 5 before last night wasn't enough to already say he's shoulder to shoulder. Jim Kelly was a first ballot HOFer losing 4. Marino was as well losing his only 1. Favre went 1-1. Elway & Manning combined went 4-5! Brady having himself gone 5-3 up through last night, or even 5-4 had they lost, in a league where only 1 QB has ever even just PLAYED in Super Bowls let alone WIN 5, you're telling me Brady still had to win another one to qualify? Why didn't Jordan have to win 11 to qualify? Because he was so dominant anyway in the regular season & post season. In one generation, Brady & Belichick have brought the Pats from 0 Super Bowls to tying the Steelers for most all time with 6. Other historic franchises like the Packers, Cowboys, 49ers, Giants, etc. have all been surpassed by just 1 generation of QB+HC. That's insane. Tom Brady will hit #2 all time in passing yards if he plays another full season next year (he's #4 now, only 1,400+ yards from #2 behind Brees), only needs 22 TD's to pass Peyton Manning for #1 all time (though he's 3 TD's behind Brees right now), is the winningest postseason QB of all time, has the most Superbowl MVP's of all time, has 3 regular season MVPs, and countless other records that shouldn't NEED a 6th Super Bowl win to be "shoulder to shoulder" with Jordan in NA sports. I hate the guy and can't wait until he finally friggin retires. But I know I'll never see something like this in my lifetime ever again and have to respect that. In the NFL, doing what he's done puts him shoulder to shoulder with Jordan easily, and that was before winning a 6th ring. People are willing to argue Lebron is shoulder to shoulder with Jordan, and even better than Jordan, and he only has 3 rings out of 9 trips! So how the hell is 6 the magic number for FOOTBALL, but 3 is ok for basketball? I dunno why I felt the need to rant about this, but man that argument was so stupid. I'll be THRILLED if the Bills have a QB that leads us to one Superbowl win....I can only imagine how it would feel to go 9 times and win 6.
  11. 13 years of playoff byes? I mean that just shows how dominant they've been in the regular season to EARN that spot. And there's always 3 other teams that have a first round bye, yet they didn't go to 9 Super Bowls, winning 6 of them, or play in over 2 full seasons worth of playoff games compiling a .750 win rate. Out of all teams that could be negatively effected by playing 1 extra game in the WC, it wouldn't be the Patriots. A Bye doesn't mean you just have it easy either. Look at Peyton Manning. He had 8 First Round Byes, and he was 3-5 in those games. The only Super Bowl he ever won was from the Wild Card spot in 2006. And Manning was considered one of the best, if not the best, QB of all-time talent & skill wise by many (until Brady just kept on winning even more Super Bowls). Edit: And btw, none of Manning's losses in the Divisional Round after having a 1st Round Bye came at the hands of the Patriots. He lost to: Dolphins ('00), Steelers ('05), Chargers ('07), Ravens ('12), and Colts ('14)
  12. Not sure how many people watch these each year, Sean McDermott and a couple other Bills make an appearance in this one. This year's just came out a couple days ago and found it pretty amusing, maybe some of you will too.
  13. Isn't that what we say every year? When a team goes nearly 2 decades without a playoff birth, then follows our first one up with what we did, what rational non-biased person would give us respect? We haven't EARNED any yet.
  14. You see their post season record right? Brady has a .750 POSTSEASON record! How often do you think he's playing against the AFC East in the postseason? The answer is twice in 40 games (both against the Jets). So at the very least, anywhere they were in the AFC they'd still be just as dominant. The real question is would the Bills have made the postseason more in another division? Because starting off your season with an automatic 0-2 handicap for the most part is a pretty tough hill to climb.
  15. Pssssh! Screw that guy! He's just a couple months older than me, and he's on his 2nd season as a HC in the NFL & in the Super Bowl?! Makes me feel pretty insignificant for what I'm doing in my life... Man, where did I go wrong...
  16. It should be who can throw it the farthest while hitting a target. If it's just how far in general it can go, I'd favor Allen by a small amount. But it was how close you could get to hitting something at various distances, I'd go Mahomes all day.
  17. If the Pats lose this Super Bowl, they'll have lost as many as we did...with the added bonus of having won 5 on top of it, and all with the same QB. I think that legacy already put a pretty big damper on ours
  18. You ever see Willis McGahee's injury when playing for Miami? Theismann's injury & McGahee's injury are two of the nastiest looking injuries I've seen, yet many people say Smith's was worse. Because of that, I refuse to watch it. The idea of seeing something that horrific & painful just upsets my stomach even thinking about it. Really hope Smith makes a full recovery and can live out a long, happy & fulfilling life.
  19. Nah... As much as I hate to say it, the Bills were outclassed in every Super Bowl after losing to the Giants. Kelly & Co. never looked like the offense they were in the regular season in any of those next 3 Super Bowls, and we coughed up the ball so many times it would've been damn near impossible for ANY team to lose with that kind of turnover advantage. Thurman would get his 1 short yardage TD a game and do nothing else. Kelly would look like a deer in the headlights, then get laid out like said deer would standing in the road. And our key defensive players got run all over and couldn't make plays. Washington & Dallas's O-lines totally destroyed our pass rush. Still the best years this team has ever had in the NFL.
  20. I mean sure, but the refs could've also called the obvious penalty. It wasn't even close to debatable. Lord knows if the Bills got screwed out of a Super Bowl we wouldn't just casually accept it & move on. There'd be rioting in the streets.
  21. The only reason this thread doesn't need to exist is because what's left to say? Everything great to say has already been said countless times before. Tom Brady is far & away the best QB of all time. The fact he's about to start his 40th post season game is INSANE. That's 2.5 full seasons worth of games spent in the playoffs alone! He's played in the same amount of Super Bowls as the Bills have played post season games since 1993! He has WON more Super Bowls than anybody other QB has even BEEN to Super Bowls outside of Elway... I mean it was a hell of an accomplishment for Kelly to go to 4 straight, even though he lost them all. If the Pats lose this SB, Brady will have lost as many as Kelly, while simultaneously having the most wins ever too. All this in the Free Agency era too... But for what it's worth - F*** him. Maybe if he wins he'll finally retire and gtfo of the AFC East already! I'm sick of watching the Pats in the SB. I was hoping after nearly 20 years the Bills would have found a way to compete with them, as it'd be so much sweeter if we could actually rival the Brady-lead Pats, but at this point I'd take anything that'd knock the Pats off the top of the mountain, even if it is Brady retiring.
  22. It really wouldn't have changed much with the way our offense played after the first Super Bowl. The way the Bills turned the ball over was insane. Also, if Thurman ever played like the MVP level player he was in any of those games outside of the Giants game, we'd probably have won a SB or two (or at least had a better shot). XXVI - Thurman: 10 rushing attempts for 13 yards & 1 TD; 4 receptions for 27 yards Kenneth Davis: 4 rushing attempts for 17 yards; 4 receptions for 38 yards.......... Winner: Kevin Davis? Then again, fumbling the ball half a dozen times probably sealed their fate more than anything. XXVII - Thurman: 11 rushing attempts for 19 yards & 1 TD; 4 receptions for 10 yards, 1 fumble Kenneth Davis: 15 rushing attempts for 86 yards; 3 receptions for 16 yards...... Winner: Kenneth Davis? Again, turnovers killed us with 9 total! Kelly had 3, Reich had 4, Thurman had 1 and Tasker had 1. XXVIII - Thurman: 16 attempts for 37 yards & 1 TD; 7 receptions for 52 yards, 2 fumbles Kenneth Davis: 9 attempts for 38 yards, 3 receptions for -5 yards....... Winner: Thomas I guess, though he did awful too. But hey, the team only had 3 turnovers this game with Thurman being 2 of them! Big improvement!
  23. C'mon man! I know of plenty of Bills players & trivia decades before my time, but there's a point where knowing all the good 60's players becomes too much for me! Lol I'm only 32, so half the Bills players I know of I haven't seen play anyway.
  24. When has lack of experience mattered much lately? The HC of that same team got hired after flaming out at his Alma Matter! People in this town LOVE Kingsbury & willing to give him a pass on pretty much everything...but the last two seasons made it more & more difficult to accept when it was obvious Tech was getting worse the longer Kingsbury stayed I still wish him the best, but his lack of experience already hurt him once, and it's not likely to get easier in the big leagues. JP may as well be his OC at this point. He's just as deserving as anyone else.
  25. Aaron Williams was getting pretty good until Jarvis Landry did Jarvis Landry things. Also, we have some an AFL safety on our Wall of Fame don't we? And Henry Jones was good, just don't remember if he was a Strong Safety or Free Safety or both.
