  1. If he said something we don't want to hear, the responses would've been "Who?" and "Why should I care what ____ has to say?" Throw in some jokes about his looks & the company he works for, and that about sums up the usual reactions. Edit: I do like this bit of info though - "The Bills are one of nine teams that do not face an opponent that's coming off a bye week." THANK YOOOUUUU!
  2. There's gotta be some kind of between success & spiraling into idiocy when it comes to WR's. The more successful they become, the more they become a locker room nightmare or complete tool. Something tells me Antonio Brown's brain is a lost cause already. Let him wear whatever helmet he wants, it won't do him any good anyway.
  3. Nah, Bortles played well that year. He wasn't great, but he played above average, which is more than our QB's the last decade+ can say (outside of Orton).
  4. Wow, really?! I was thinking "man, I guess at half time I'd have to walk alllll the way back to my car just to deal with it," but no re-entry either? Is that a NY thing? The Texans stadium is pretty darn nice, and I was thrilled they had a place on the 2nd floor where you could step outside on the balcony & smoke or vape. The place is beautiful, so it seems weird they'd allow it but not Buffalo.
  5. Can't even bring in e-Cigs anymore? Geez, the crackdown on nicotine products really sucks... I stopped smoking, but still use the little vape pen every once in a while, but it just sucks when I can't even carry one on me. I get not using anything, but c'mon... making it really hard on us with vices
  6. Just a random question, is Buffalo still losing people year over year, or has it stabled out/started gaining people again? I know the business landscape has changed quite a bit, but last time I was there it seemed like a lot was needed in infrastructure & renovations. Never lived there, but I love the place so much & am always fascinated reading about the area. A new stadium would go a long way in securing the team, but I know it's not so simple. I only wish we had done it sooner, as other rust belt/midwest teams managed to find a way & not break the bank. It's only getting more & more expensive as time goes on, so hopefully a solution is in sight.
  7. I'm a fan of Josh, I just don't think he's going to be the guy. With that being said, I don't think we can take away much from a preseason game, even if he looked amazing. We saw Peterman look pretty damn good with the offense last preseason, didn't mean a thing. My main issue with Allen as a player is that his success depends on him becoming a player he's never been before at any level... Unlike a lot of QB's that needed time to develop into great players in the NFL, Allen wasn't exactly lighting it up during his college career either. Example: you may see some QB's just put up insane numbers and play out of their minds in college, then hope that one day they can perform that way in the pros. You want to get them to that same level, only against higher competition. Mahomes for instance put up ridiculous numbers & carried Texas Tech as best he could, and seeing that made you think "man, if he could do that in the pros he'd be great!" But even if you got Allen's absolute best in college, only now in the NFL, that wouldn't be anything great. If you're drafting a QB hoping they can play as great as they did in the past, Allen wouldn't be the guy you'd draft. In other words, the coaching staff was under the impression that they had the tools to make him into an elite QB themselves, something other coaches haven't been able to do yet. And therein lies the issue. McDermott is a great Defensive minded HC, but he doesn't appear to be the best QB evaluator out there. This is the same guy who thought we were so perfectly ok at the QB position that we didn't need a veteran at the position to help groom Allen, and that we also were perfectly fine trading away McCarron, and perfectly fine starting Nathan Peterman.... Then he proceeds to yank the guy he was so confident in by halftime, and forces the rookie 1st round pick, who was known to be the most raw QB of the big 4 drafted, into game action already.... Took him a while to realize how dumb that was, then snagged Anderson as quickly as he could, that backfired, then had to grab Barkley out of a park to just have ANYONE to trot out there. Luckily Barkley ended up playing great, but the entire situation was botched from the start. TL;DR - McDermott hasn't shown that he even knows how to evaluate the QB position, Allen hasn't ever played like a great QB at any level, so hoping McDermott & Co. can coach him into a player he's never shown he can be, only now in the NFL, seems really, REALLY unlikely.
  8. I honestly hope he's ok as a human being, and retires the moment the doctor tells him it's needed. I know it's hard to step away from the game, and you just got this fat new contract, but life is more important. Getting another concussion this season should be the final straw... Coaches & trainers should put him on the IR the moment that happens.
  9. It's definitely better than last season, but the Colts in preseason aren't really the best barometer to gauge improvement. I really hope they make a significant improvement in run blocking this season though. Not being able to establish the run really killed us last year. Even though pass protection wasn't great, part of the problem was simply Allen holding on to the ball for too long. He actually had the longest average time holding onto the ball before passing in 2018, so if he can learn to release it a bit quicker it should help the O-line out a bit too.
  10. WR's managed to get some separation tonight, Allen missed some throws though too. Oliver played pretty well, not sure what you were expecting, but he definitely didn't look as disappointing as Edmunds did when he first saw live action last year. 6-10? Maybe. It's definitely possible, but I think McDermott gets a little more out of this group. Even if Allen doesn't progress much, our schedule seems a bit easier this year, and our QB situation in general isn't the absolute worst in the league going into this season. Barkley can actually win us a game or two if he has to, unlike Peterman, and the O-line & Defense have more depth overall. Injuries aside, I'd say we SHOULD improve by at least 1-2 games. I think 6-10 is low end, while 8-8 is a reasonable expectation.
  11. Oops, I guess I just thought that part was a given Hope Shaq keeps it up!
  12. Allen looked like Allen. O-line looked solid. Some depth chart guys made some nice plays. The end.
  13. Lol you are correct! Maybe Eddie has a chance not being a DB. But Dareus looked like a stud early in his career too, so guess you never really know how things will play out
  14. If he turns out as good as he looks, the Bills will probably let him walk once his rookie contract is up & he's commanding a huge contract.
  15. That's what people say every time there's something they don't want to hear about the Bills, might as well be consistent & say it when there's something positive too lol. In regards to them "dying," they'll be dying for many, many, many more years to come before actually being anywhere close to dead.
  16. Of course it's an important game. Every game is important until you're eliminated from playoff contention. And a division game on top of that? Even more important. But we've got Matt Barkley, Jets-Killer, in reserves. No need to fear, our victory is assured.
  17. Yeah, Ed Reed really didn't like Buffalo - https://sports.yahoo.com/ed-reed-wants-coach-hated-101210819.html
  18. I live in West Texas, but shockingly there's like 3 other people I met in this 300k person town that like the Bills... not counting the 3 or 4 I've converted myself.
  19. Fair concerns, but I guess it all depends on if Belichick sticks around. We've seen him coach without Brady before, even for a full season, and they were still a very good team that won double digit games. Brady wants to play until he's 45, doubt he does, but he's 41 now. There's a chance (nightmare actually) that he follows through, but you never know. If anyone can do it, it's him unfortunately. But I agree that there's a strong chance they could drop off hard the first year after he retires, but knowing the Pats, they could be planning on hoarding draft picks to eventually trade up & grab his replacement.
  20. That definitely sucks when it happens, but at the same time it's impossible to simulate a player's REAL accuracy in game by just pressing "X" when you see a player open... The game simulates your player's movement, trajectory, arm strength, fatigue, speed, awareness, etc. against the opposing defensive scheme, defender's stats, and soooo many other factors... and all we need to do is flick an analogue stick or tap a button. Plus, in reality there are plenty of times Allen, Tyrod, and other QB's sail a pass 10 yards short/over an open WR, or don't see them at all. Sometimes they just get the ball batted down, sometimes they throw a horrible wobbler or just launch it into the dirt. There's only so much a game can do with all the real life variables, so they have to factor in a group of stats that include awareness and accuracy, where sometimes the RNG just isn't in your favor. It sucks, but if it didn't exist, all QB's would essentially handle the same.
  21. Yeah... I never understood when people got mad prior to the season about rankings, because if we prove to be good, our in-game team will be updated to reflect that! So what if you think they got worse ratings than they deserve? If those players end up playing how you believe they will, the game will then fix that too! Problem solved! At the same time, it is kind of fun to see what non-Bills fans think of our team & players. It's not like these guys are just guessing either... It's not an exact science, but believe it or not, they do spend an extensive amount of time researching players. Of course not EVERYONE can get the same amount of attention, but they're not just throwing out random numbers because they don't care about accuracy.
  22. That's fine. I enjoy reading various writer's opinions on the Bills, regardless of where they work. And if the breakdown is as thorough as it is with the Colts, then I'd definitely like to see what there opinion is of the organization going through the next 3 years.
  23. https://www.espn.com/nfl/insider/story/_/id/27124949/nfl-future-power-rankings-projections-all-32-teams-next-three-years They're talking about it on ESPN Radio right now, but because I don't have ESPN+, can't see the entire thing. All I've pieced together from their discussion & other articles is: 1. Colts 2. Patriots 3. Eagles 8. Rams 9. Browns 10. Chargers 11. Bears 12. Vikings 14. Cowboys 21. Lions 27. Redskins 31. Giants 32... Dolphins lol So if anyone can share what they discuss regarding the Bills, I'd be very interested. They go pretty deep with the breakdowns instead of the typical one-liners used for weekly power rankings, evaluating everything from their drafting to the front office, so I'd definitely like to see how they see the future of the Bills.
  24. That field is under ground level, just throwing it over the stands is pretty incredible. On top of that, he did it from the line at the endzone.
  25. Exactly. I went through and looked at a lot of teams' players, and they look down overall. It's not like they overrated a lot of players this year either. Allen being a 74 is actually pretty generous considering the numbers got lowered overall. Ed Oliver being just 1 point off from being the top rated rookie is pretty favorable too.
