  1. Anyone available really for the line isn’t going to be very expensive. Why do they need all that money? I’m not supportive of how the line played, but even then cutting those guys creates ever more depth issues. Best case scenario you can land a decent swing tackle with a little potential to fill in and maybe at best a backup guard who can push for a starting job in 5-6 weeks. Those guys don’t cost much.
  2. Too many people watching skip bayless and Steven a smith who think they know football better than the guys being paid millions and millions in the league. They “scout” the talent. They “watch” the tape They do “mock drafts” non stop They know footwork and mechanics of quarterbacks better than real nfl scouts. And my favorite is the people on here who don’t want to debate or discuss, just flood their opinion as fact and have zero intentions of hearing anyone else’s point of view or any option that does not agree with their opinions. We have a lot of those types of posters on here. Judging the coach, and GM 24/7 is 100% stupid in year 2.. Especially when the team overachieved and made the playoffs after a historic drought. Rather they stumbled in or had luck or whatever it makes no difference. They made the playoffs year one after how many decent to loaded rosters that have been built here over the years and failed to squeak into the playoffs. Im all for debates and discussions but it is quite agitating seeing how many posters on here spew GM hate, QB hate ( I might puke seeing how many “jokes” about 5 ints in one half are made daily and how Nate is worthless), and my favorite how terrible OBD is for not signing a player whose name we heard before. Trade for Mack? Was never going to happen. I haven’t seen what the Bears gave up but I’m sure it was a ridiculous haul
  3. Not sure the preseason love for this guy.. Not even sure he has potential to be an average receiver in this league. He’s not the next cole Beasley/Wes walker/chris hogan.. not even sure he’d make the Riley cooper category of averageness
  4. Lol no not planned at all by our coaching. i meant everyone on this board wanted Allen to face a starting defense that would blitz and throw him different looks etc etc. They didn’t need to blitz though since they only needed 4 to murder him every play. And handled well I meant he did a good job getting his ass kicked and not losing his composure.
  5. We wanted to see Allen under pressure, and Cinci to throw the kitchen sink at him to see how he handled it. I thought he did quite well. Rather it’s Allen or peterman I’d love to see some more screen passes on days like yesterday to maybe negate that constant pressure. I’m not as worried as most. I think we don’t have or need a wr1 as I expect the ball to be spread around. i think Peterman if he starts and his short game makes the O line look much better along with shady in the backfield. My biggest concern is pass rush. Haven’t seen anyone really do much of anything there. I think the offense is gonna be ok regardless of what quarterback starts. I expect the run game to be impressive some weeks. But we need a pass rush, our secondary is gonna get torched if we can’t get some form of consistent pressure. Of course 49 is gonna have good and bad weeks and that should mostly dictate how we handle the run defense.
  6. I would say it’s a good thing. Carolina is hit and miss good. They can only really run a gimmicky offense with Cam so they are limited how far he can take them. But IF the young talent is developed at some of these weaker depth positions usually determines how good the team is. Offensive lineman, receiver and defensive backfield are always an issue for the panthers. And take a look at some of the guys they’ve grown there. Some of their better players the last ten years were very low draft picks who developed with good coaching into starting caliber players. Norwell I had to lookup was an UDFA, Norman in the 5th round, most of their receivers haven’t worked out very well at all.
  7. I would put the pitchforks away until the regular season starts. He’s not gonna be a pro bowl corner anymore but I doubt he’ll be as bad as he way today once the real games start
  8. This stuff is too funny.. go talk to some Carolina fans about how their teams were built. They never had good receiving groups. Always middle priced vets. Of course Olsen and Benjamin. they fielded some of the most pathetic defensive back groups ever. Older washed up safeties and undrafted or low draft pick corners. Carolina always has holes in certain areas they NEVER addressed or invested big money into. This team has been built a little differently but still the same model. The only way this plan works is if they DEVELOP young talent.
  9. Sick and twisted world we live in for sure. Scary raising children into this amongst other horrid things that happen. Just a sad situation all around for anyone affected by this
  10. 14-14 186 yards 2tds anything less he’s a bust and Nate should start or we trade a 3rd for bridgewater ??
  11. I’m sure every team in the league “checked in” on Mack, and most probably made an offer. But regardless of the contract Mack is gonna get they are not trading that guy. If for some reason they do they will be getting a monster haul of talent/picks in return. I don’t even think buffalo has enough ammo to swing that kinda trade. Lot of talk of Hughes or peterman and a first round pick.. lol they are never taking that kind of deal. You would need multiple first round picks, or some elite talent heading back to Oakland. Any team trading for Mack has to severaly overpay.
  12. How are they gonna lose him? They own his rights, he’s under contract this year, they can franchise him next year?? The year after? These guys can threaten holdout all day long, but it almost never gets into gametime they aren’t losing checks.
  13. None of these guys mentioned are worth higher than a 6th round pick to another team. You could argue a team is desperate for health in a certain position I suppose. Hughes is a walking 15 yard penalty machine who has basically shown without 3 other dominant lineman he can’t get much pressure and disappears for games at a time. Clay is a 17 week starter on the injury report who suits up weekly regardless but doesn’t have a ton of impact unless he’s playing the dolphins. Benjamin was worth a 3rd last year since he had a year on his contract left, now he’s a semi oft injured receiver who is a one year rental unless you offer him huge money. Nobody is giving away a decent future pick for any of these guys. As said earlier they are much more valuable on this board and their current team than in trades
  14. I don’t know if anyone would give up multiple firsts, but I’d be completely shocked if the Oakland GM gave away Mack regardless of future contract looming for a backup quarterback and one 1st round pick. That’s instant termination for that GM the fans would riot. If you’re trading a top 3 player in the league at a premier position in the NFL the haul has to be something crazy. And that’s why you don’t see top talent traded.
  15. All the mistakes so far are on film, you gotta know they’re sitting down with him and watching the tape and the mistakes and misses he’s had. I have zero concern he will adjust, if he has to slow down some on the field while learning he’s still faster than 90% of the linebackers in the league. When it all comes together he should be lights out for a long time
  16. I think it would take more than a backup QB and one 1st rounder. Regardless of contract or whatever the New Jersey Jets would have to include multiple firsts in any sort of deal in my opinion
  17. Goodness, every thread is team Peterman and team Allen battling lol.. Team Bills. Who cares who starts or who you like more? They get some W’s with this team is all that matters.
  18. Nice to see you have this much self confidence 17.... im sold
  19. Well this clip ends the quarterback debate. Peterman starts, with Allen at wide receiver 1 and KB at the 2 right? That’s some red zone size right there!!!!!!!
  20. It had the looks of the offense being schemed to let him open up the short to mid range game. I have to think some of that was at least game planned to see how he handled the mid range passing attack. We have lost and let go of a lot of players the last couple years, if Allen is starting this year at any point my biggest miss will be marquis goodwin. I was always a fan of his, super happy to see him fully committed to football in San Fran last year and producing amazing numbers none of us thought he was capable of, he IMO is the missing link to this offense this season. Of course there’s tons of speed guys in the league, but the thought of Allen uncorking a 75 yard pass through the air and hitting goodwin intrigues me for sure.
  21. Talent level or ceiling there’s no comparison. And Allen has surpassed what we expected to see from a rookie who was drafted and needed a year at minimum to “develop” his game. I think peterman is still ahead, his ability to run the huddle and get to the line super fast. He looks to have mastered the playbook. Gets to the line with a lot of time left of the play clock. I guess if we can live with some rookie growing pains Allen is the guy no matter what week 1. I can see the case for each guy, and will cheer for whoever wins the battle. Allen takes us farther no doubt if his game develops. I think Nate takes a beating on this board over one half of football he was unprepared for and his offensive line wanted him to die for getting Tyrods job and not earning it. He hasn’t been given a fair shake. He’s nowhere near elite but he’s also not hot trash like so many seem to believe. He’s just not the exciting prospect Allen is. He’s the polar opposite.
  22. Cleveland is the worst team in the league, until they show different. They have had “young talent” for years. But they have shown to piss it all away or be terrible talent evaluators or super poor at developing talent. Until I see them different I expect every player they draft or sign to get injured immediately or get arrested or just plain lose all confidence and be out of the league 3 years later.
  23. I think last year was more “team building” and setting up for the future, everyone expected garbage from Buffalo, why fuel the press with what would have been a non stop quarterback debate. Every single time he talked to the press it would of been when is Mahomes gonna start? Do you think Tyrod deserves the start? It would of been a huge distraction for everyone. This year not so much, of course if Allen isn’t the starter he will still field those questions however his team first culture is mostly set in place with his players now. Much more than at this point last year. Thats my thinking anyways. First year build the team in the mold you want, second year get your guy who slides in to that team chemistry you spent a year + building
  24. That’s the end of AJ in this race I think. I’m still not a fan of starting Allen week 1, but he’s not giving them much of a choice in the matter. Kids gotta a little swagger to his game
  25. I heard a rumor he’s being considered for the Patriots when bellichek retires
