  1. I’d say it’s safe to say Pettine owns Allen today. Every decent play followed by a flag, kids got zero confidence this game
  2. He had his shot. I supported the decision last year and this year, he deserved a chance last year to try and spark the offense. This year I think it was smart even with the results to not toss Allen out week 1. But Allen has jumped in, sparked the offense and there should be no looking back now. Nate had his shot and failed. Regardless of the situations or whatever he failed miserably and he should never start another game here unless there’s injuries and there is no choice. I do think he has potential, just his regular season play has been putrid.
  3. To be fair, is it not possible Zay has similar results with better coaching and a high octane offense? Last year the rams and Steelers both had a lot of success running the ball, and obviously have lethal passing attacks. Also let’s not forget neither receiver is the #1 on their team and they face easier coverages because of the running games and main receivers. If you want the perfect example Robert Woods wasn’t all that good stat wise here, now he’s a legit threat every week to put up big numbers. Zay has talent, we just have not coached it out of him and we have had one of the worst passing games in the entire league. maybe with Allen now there could be success but don’t fool yourself into thinking Smith or Kupp would of been much better playmakers than Zay here the past 20+ games
  4. It’s been trending this way for a long time, it’s a passing league. Whats more exciting, a Stefon Diggs one handed catch or a 3 yard run by cook? The rules are even skewed more year by year to enforce more and more passing. It creates more excitement, unless rules are adjusted to help defenses expect the trend to continue up
  5. It only works if they can land some actual talent. Think suspended NFL players, washed up guys who used to be stars. And it only works if they emphasize the areas the NFL is screwing up. Gotta have some elaborate celebrations that make headlines, some real rugged bonedrushing defense. If it’s just watered down NFL nobody is gonna watch.
  6. He lead the titans in receiving two years in a row, while they don’t have an elite squad over there still there’s not a ton of targets and delanie Walker was their main guy. Forget the scouting reports the dude can play, and has something to prove if he wants a contract next year. You sign this guy up immediately if you can. The question is where does he wanna play and where does he see a chance to boost his value
  7. I would be all for it, like the guy said he’s been the leading pass catcher there for two years, was hurt in camp and they used it as an excuse to bench him and see what they have in the younger guys. I can see his point why he would want to be let go, he signed thinking he’s a starting receiver there, didn’t lose his job just had some preseason injuries to mend up. Then finding out you’re not even starting has to suck. We could use someone who WANTS to be out there earning their paycheck
  8. I think the Jets have some young cornerstone kinda players in place, as long as they continue to add good pieces around Darnold and we add to Allen it should make us the top 2 teams going forward
  9. I am actually on Bells side in this, he has everything to lose by playing. Hes a running back, very limited window to cash in. This is his one giant payday in his prime, if he goes out and pops a ACL or something he will lose tons of money. I’m not his biggest fan but in a league where everyone at an elite level gets paid top dollar he shouldn’t risk injury on the franchise tag, he deserves his payday
  10. Get it done OBD!!! sorry someone had to lol I did like him here, he seemed to have good leadership qualities over the defense
  11. It’s funny, since we are literally one of the worst pass offenses ever, to label the 2nd round player as a bust 19 games in. When his team doesn’t throw the ball all that much. Shuster looks great, but he also has brown across from him being doubled non stop and Ben who throws 50 times a game. Steelers literally throw as much as any team in the league. Lets also not forget we suck at coaching up receivers. Not to name names but take our receivers the last 7-8 years and mostly all do waaaaaay better on other teams. Coincidence???
  12. To be fair, while it sounded negative he was just calling what he seen from a former starting quarterbacks eyes which I fully appreciated. i thought he hated Allen the way he critiqued him all game, then in the 4th quarter he said he thought Allen was the best quarterback in this draft and was #1 on his board. He looked like a rookie outclassed against LA, not so much against Minnesota
  13. I’m still kind of in shock the Vikings tackle could not figure out Hughes, the books been out for years let him run by and the quarterback step up in the pocket and Hughes will run 5 yards right past him every play. For whatever reason Hughes was just too fast today and managed to not only run past their tackle but come back for the quarterback with complete ease. It was nice to see him playing 1000% effort and not getting silly penalties. Guy is a real difference maker at times
  14. I still hate Newhouse and want him gone even more than DuCasse.. Newhouse has always been a low effort penalty machine. I’d rather have Benjamin line up at tackle than that guy. I was not very worried about the other signings compared to how many were on here going nuts we paid some of these guys to come here. I will stand by my Newhouse assessment though and pray they replace him ASAP.
  15. Oh I didn’t say it would be smart lol.. But they have to be super desperate for any playmakers they can possibly get. Truth be told I have no idea if they could even sign his contract extension
  16. Cut em all.. Allen is the one man band. Foster has a knack of getting open and has some speed. Something this team needs.
  17. I expect Denver, Tampa, Washington and Seattle to all come a callin..
  18. Lol I was thinking the same thing. Maybe a 4th gets it done hahahaha Their season was over before that injury. They aren’t quite ready to compete for the playoffs. I watch them as my west coast team and their roster is as ugly as ours talent wise.
  19. No. Fire Beane now. He wasted all that money on PED oft injured Murphy. Paid fat star to do nothing. And can McDermott too, he’s lost the team. I can’t belive they fielded an 0-16 team who could be the worst professional team in sports history. Clean house and get a competent GM and coach who know how to properly address the quarterback position next year with the 1st overall pick. We could of had Mahomes
  20. Yeah for sure in the beginning a lot of tricky formations and safe throws to open things up and get Allen some confidence. They really game planned for all phases today
  21. I love the spirit, but that guy has got to learn to slide. If the game is on the line I kinda get it, but we need ya in the lineup josh
  22. I gotta say, time to fire Beane and McDermott. Embarrassing roster they have assembled this season. Ooops wrong week
  23. We can absolutely start out 1-1 next year!!! I BILLieve!!!! In all seriousness, their defense looks pretty nasty as far as a pass rush. Lets remember they have a new head coach, who has one year as an offensive coordinator behind Andy Reid. He’s ran some really innovative trickish kinda playbook the first two weeks. That won’t fly all year long. The league always catches up to this kinda stuff once there’s enough tape out there. I would hold off on the serious playoff contender part until at least mid season. They are still very talent deficient
  24. Well one thing is for sure, every week is fairly unpredictable. and judging my guess off the first two games from each team it’s possible we’re behind bigtime and fast, which would equate to abandoning the run and passing non stop. I can’t see any possible way our offensive line can overpower their defensive line and impose their will in the run game. I fully expect a huge blowout (though I hope to see a close game)
  25. Yes he did. And it was still a smart move for the Browns. They had plenty of picks and needed someone who can play it safe for them. Turnovers were a giant part of their demise the last few years. Their plan was smart, and now that baker won the job the pressure is off. Starting day one is hard. Pressure is still there just a little less now that he’s already come in as the savior and won the first game in two years
