  1. It’s quite sad, Taylor had such a good deep ball that one year and was always on point deep. Sadly that guy just doesn’t read the field at all he is always one read and scramble. Jets showed perfectly how to play him last night and he missed open receivers constantly. Even when he decided to throw to the wide open receiver he missed. His career as a starter is over for sure
  2. Hmmm this one is for sure rough. 21-49 238 yards 3 tds 2ints 1 fumble 11 rushes 37 yards ?
  3. Well dang.. 5 more years of bottom feeding for us. Glad I read this assessment no point in watching the games our future is doomed until they clean house and draft an actual quarterback someday
  4. What’s more alarming to me is the lack of a run game. Granted we have been basically blown out the first 6 quarters of the season. But if they can’t run the ball it’s going to be a really ugly season. Allen carrying the whole team and trying to do everything himself is gonna be a disaster for the team, and for his development
  5. Zac Brown was one of my favorites. We definitely have missed his speed on the linebacker spot
  6. Not sure what the point of this is. This off-season was mostly about low key one year kinda rentals. Star and Murphy got decent contracts but by no means bad contracts. Star does what he does, takes up space. I’m sure there were cheaper options to do the same thing but McDermott had familiarity with him so he’s here. This is the problem here lately is everyone is looking too short sighted. The long term goal is to build a team of youngish talented players. Not high priced free agents. If you have an issue with the contracts to star and Murphy then my goodness imagine what superstar caliber players will cost. Next year maybe they consider breaking the bank for those kinds of free agents but that wasn’t the plan this year. 2018 is all about developing younger talent. Plain and simple. Allen and Edmonds and the other young guys. At the end of the season they’ll see what they have and as long as Allen progresses all season they’re in perfect shape next year to add elite level young talent again along with some top notch free agents to sprinkle in
  7. Lol well I’d love to know where. Minus jimmy G being a year or two ahead of progression than Allen. Cause the rest of their roster is trash
  8. Have you looked at the SF roster? They are just as full of nobodies as buffalo. Their receiving core is just as bad as ours and so it their tight ends. Linebackers and ends.. we might even have the edge on that one. They have a pathetic roster just like buffalo, Arizona and even Tennessee
  9. From a roster standpoint they are just as bad as buffalo. Dont we have a very young promising quarterback? San Fran has as many holes as the bills, you could possibly argue our roster on paper looks better.
  10. How about Arizona? Maybe San Fran, Tennessee, all those teams look pretty ugly. But hey we’re the worst of course, cause that’s just the cool thing to jump on this week.
  11. Thank god we have a new thread for this. Maybe if we can pin this one we don’t need 20 new ones a day started to cry in.
  12. That’s the point of what they’re doing though. They want their own young talent not Whaleys. They want to coach their own guys up from scratch. Most of our vets will be gone next year. That’s the youth movement season I think for sure. Sprinkled with a few decent free agents
  13. Not sure he’s making the Jags look like serious contenders. They have a decent offense and a pretty stout defense. I’m nowhere near sold as them being a contender. Fragile running back, Bortles is still Bortles, and a young inexperienced receiver core. Not sure they stack up when games really start meaning more
  14. Building blocks and young talent are much different. All the rookies this year and last can progress quite a bit. Players who don’t see the field much now could actually grow into starters next year. Most teams only have a handful of untouchable building blocks to their team.
  15. Pretty sure he already got resigned after the preseason game against us
  16. It was a genius trade for the Pats. There isnt a better playmaker available for cheaper than that.
  17. I fully agree. Cleveland said they want to send him to the NFC and I guess he said he wants Dallas or San Fran. But hey they owe us for Tyrod ? And Coleman. Time to call in that favor
  18. I was really against Gordon last week, my tune has changed after yesterday. I do think they’ll call, but I also think they won’t give up the 3rd rounder it’ll probably take to get him after the Coleman debacle. Gordon is what 750k this year? Nobody is gonna come that cheap with that much talent. Only issue I see is we get roasted even more if we drop a 3rd rounder for him and he screws up fast and gets suspended forever. But they need his dynamic playmaking for sure
  19. It’s only two games. They don’t look good sure but you gotta think they’ll get better. some of these younger guys need time to progress. I thought the second half of the charger game we started to see a little life in the team and more of what they wanted for this year. A competitive team. Low on talent but hard working. Also keep in mind this may be a crap roster, especially on offense. It was built to be a good rushing team though with a solid defense. The D has been awful and with the points given up we can’t run the ball effectively. This team never has a shot since Fitz to win without a top notch running game. Even then Fitz couldn’t win the game with his arm. Same philosophy for a very long time. Ground and pound, impose your will and control the clock. Keep the defense fresh and attacking. Without all of that working we can’t win end of story. Getting Allen and developing him I like to think is a change in that philosophy. A true field general who can chuck the ball all over the field and have a defense on its heels which opens the run game. (Hopefully) Either way, rather you believe in them or not their entire resume rests on Allen’s shoulders. If they hit they’ll be here a very long time. If they missed they’ll be out the door in 3 more seasons. Either way like it or not GM and coach aren’t going anywhere for awhile
  20. Here’s what I took from the game, and all I needed to see. He looked like he belongs, and he had command of the team. The little pep talk on the sideline firing up the defense was excellent and he had good command of the huddle. I expected lots of delays of game and confusion from him. But he seemed on point. He’s a quarterback and been throwing footballs basically his entire adult life if not longer so I’m not as worried about the throws as some. I chalk a lot of it up to first game jitters and constant pressure. He was inaccurate in college and we knew what we were getting. Good thing is he can make all the throws needed and he can move around. Silly interception towards the end of the game but it was kinda cool to watching him drag Ingram a couple yards and still make a throw. For the love of god though josh SLIDE... He is gonna get murdered one day if he don’t start sliding.
  21. It’s an expression not literal. Appreciate the input
  22. Trent Murphy looked decent today.. He had some solid rushes on Rivers. Star is what he is, he’s a big body to hopefully take up two blockers. I try to hold judgement on him until Edmonds is up to speed. Star should be the key to his success to a certain extent. And I do actually have faith in them to make the correct signings next year. They won’t spend just cause they have it, they’ll invest. Lol that’s what I hope anyways
  23. While I agree on some points, the state of the team is not desirable at all. Weve beaten it to death how much cap space they have next year, how many draft picks. They may not be able to fill ALL holes with elite young talent. But we also haven’t seen any of our current young talent progress. Which could in turn mean less holes to fill next year. I don’t totally have faith in Ray ray or foster or our tight end group.. But who knows.? Most of these guys we hate so much won’t be here next year, we could obviously be better RIGHT NOW by signing some guys who are free agents. I gotta think they’re content to lose this year and expect next year to be the real cornerstone to building this franchise
  24. “I got paid to workout and play a couple soft preseason games, hello retirement”
  25. Well dang now I know what the OP meant. Thanks for filling us in. Here I was thinking Mahomes was better than Brady, manning, Montana, Elway, Brees, Rodgers.. Now I get it. He’s better than them at his first two games starting. Excellent
