  1. I do agree with what you’re saying. What we seen is not a viable long term thing. Question is does the offensive coordinator adjust for these things, can they switch it up? Is he only a one trick pony? My support of peterman isn’t based off his throws in the one preseason game. I liked his command of the huddle and line of scrimmage, his efficiency of the play clock, and grasp of the playbook he ran for that game. They got to the line super fast, made some adjustments. He knew the routes and where he was going with the ball. But yeah that was a simple game plan and left some questions for sure. Can he make the second read if that primary route is taken away? Can our receivers beat press and get open? Can he make a mid to deep range throw routinely and accurately? I hope my post didn’t sound like a kool-aid peterman poster lol I just like the qualities he had in that game. I’d like to see more. I guess to simplify it for the one preseason taste we got I felt peterman had the best grasp of our playbook and what we’re trying to do. Rather it’s the 1’s 2’s or 3’s he just seems like he’s got the offense down. I didn’t see that from the other 2 guys.
  2. I picked McCarron should start, want peterman to. I don’t want to see Allen this year unless he just is so good the coaches can’t keep him on the bench. I am on team peterman only for the simple fact I think he can run this offense the best and most efficient, also think he can make the O-line look great with those short routes and screens etc etc. With that said I expect McCarron given his experience in the film room being in Cincinnati all those years to be the week 1 starter, if he can’t win the job there’s something wrong with him
  3. I would be really upset to see O’leary go, say what you will but the guy really sticks out to me making some clutch catches. Clay isn’t exactly mr Ironman id rather have someone out there who I’ve seen make key plays in games before. But I know almost nothing of the other guys in the competition, so in the end I’d be sad but have to trust the coaches decision. Or dare say trust the pro**** ??
  4. I was a fan of Preston.. I thought he was a serviceable linebacker for this team. I don’t think they will miss him but the guy was pretty durable and dependable from what I seen. With that said there are lots of decent players like him. He’s not irreplaceable for sure.
  5. I heard Teddy Bridgewater could be had for cheap ? that is of course if any of this injury talk is serious injury talk
  6. Accuracy is kinda overrated. To a certain extent. Peyton and Brady and Brees obviously have pinpoint accuracy on basically any read on the field. Guys like Brett Favre and Big Ben aren’t what I would consider an accurate quarterback, but they can make plays period. That’s mostly what it boils down to, can you make a play when it matters? And just like pitching in baseball when a quarterback has extremely high velocity you’re bound to miss your spots sometimes. Question about Allen is are we trying to groom Jamarcus Russel or Jay Cutler kinda velocity quarterbacks or are we grooming a Favre or Ben kinda prospect. Footwork and arm angle can always be modified to possibly help/hurt accuracy but I do believe guys like brees and manning are just born with the gift not progressed into it.
  7. I absolutely loved the playcalling and specifically the short passing game peterman showed. I’m still in shock they showed signs of running actual successful screens, they weren’t great tonight but it also wasn’t shady catching them. AJ and peterman both played well. But the offense looked so much better with peterman, I look forward to seeing if AJ can run it that well against the starting defense. But the looks of this offense (what they showed so far anyways) this seems to almost be made for peterman and his short passing game
  8. I agree he looked rough out there and mismatched. But that’s actually a great thing cause now he’s got some serious tape to watch this week and plenty of things to focus on improving. I fully expect week 1 to see a completely different looking player out there
  9. It may be preseason. But ignore the stats. Peterman looked like a field general who knew the playbook in and out. Knew every route his receivers ran, timing was quite good. In and out of the huddle with lots of time left on the play clock and despite the “noodle arm” he flashed a little big play ability if you play tight at the line. I was really impressed with his timing routes and ability to run the offense and get the ball out so fast.. mccaron who I expect to still win the job looked a little iffy on some stuff. Overall though I really enjoyed the playcalling and different strengths these guys have
  10. Sucks that ivory didn’t catch that, normally I don’t care but hate to see peterman haters clutch onto his INT in an otherwise flawless quarter of football. Color me impressed
  11. Wow Daboll runs screens.. My god I enjoyed that playcalling on offense. Preseason or not kinda cool to see rhythm and ball placement
  12. Lol even in Madden the bills don’t have the ammo to make that trade.
  13. The stink of the 5 pick half on peterman leaves a terrible impression. He obviously was not ready and did not look like he belongs on an nfl sideline let alone the field. But I’m willing to give the kid the benefit of the doubt. None of us know how hard he may work behind the scenes and in the film room to get better. Some fans are excited about him because he’s considered a very fast decision maker and can throw his receivers open, which given this group would be huge. Time will tell if he can legit win the job but I think it would be unfair to count his one start against him given his right tackle blocked nobody all game and let the chargers destroy him on every throw, but he did look terrible regardless. I consider a clean slate for this season and let’s see what these guys can do.
  14. Aaron Brooks was like my favorite player for two years I even bought his jersey..
  15. My point was you don’t need 2 legit top tier receivers because there’s not enough targets to go around if you don’t throw a lot. For the offense they are gonna run Benjamin Clay and shady will eat 85% of the targets. O’Leary has shown flashes in the passing game and most of us expect a little jump in production from Zay. There are plenty of weapons for the style they wanna play. Very few teams have let alone need 2 top tier receivers
  16. Why is receiver sooooo worried about? Benjamin may have injury issues but he’s a legit #1 when healthy. Has anyone ever watched Carolina? And how their teams are built..? pound the rock pound the rock.. Benjamin was a great receiver there when he was on the field and Greg Olsen got tons of targets every game. We are a running team, plain and simple. that could change in the future if AJ or Allen show they can run a high octane passing attack. But we are a ball control clock control run team who plays punishing defense. We don’t need legit top tier receivers cause we won’t be throwing 40 times a game. If/when their strategy works you’re talking 20-25 passes a game. Benjamin Clay shady O’Leary will be handling a lot of those targets. Bring in Dez? Marlin? For what? Decoy? Dez wants 20 targets for himself a game lol he would freak out here “blocking” all game and getting 2 targets.
  17. You have some rationality to your posts so I give you credit compared to a lot of what I’m seeing from others. but..... lots of people had Allen as the #1 prospect in the draft. I’m no qb guru but it’s possible he goes first had those tweets not been released the night before the draft. I just think it’s a different situation Allen is walking into. We have stability in the organization for the most part, when Ej was drafted things were a mess
  18. After reading the board tonight I think we should trade him to Miami for a conditional 6th rounder.
  19. Sooooo many people hating.. wish I could save most of these lol First this is nothing like the EJ draft. They HAD to take a quarterback that year and EJ was the “best” prospect they felt was available. They didn’t HAVE to take Allen, they traded up cause they WANTED him. EJ was supposed to sit, and learn. Kolb slipped and EJ was ruined and shell shocked later that year. You also had Marrone and Hackett coaching a raw prospect. This coachibg staff sure as hell is not Marrone and Hackett. After this last season I am in shock so many of you don’t realize these guys spot talent THEY can work with that a lot of other teams can’t or don’t see potential. I feel.a little like a lot of posters are being little babies cause OBD didn’t follow your little mock drafts you’ve been posting for weeks so you could brag how smart you are ?? lets let the guy maybe play a couple downs before crying and trying to run him and the front office out of town.
  20. Well thank you from taking some time from your busy evening at the draft to inform us of Allen’s future. Which team are you GM or scouting for? Or do you work one of those miss Cleo telephone hotlines predicting the future? Can you dm me winning lotto numbers for the state of Tennessee wise one?
  21. Like 90% of the time you can never get back what you used to draft someone. Thats how it works. silly rabbit trix are for kids
  22. That’s a ridiculous size/speed combo, if this is a McDermott guy there’s your 10 year starter if he’s healthy
  23. I think Best case scenario AJ has an above average year and Allen gets some time to learn this system. I think we have a lot of haters on here freaking out. Arizona didn’t give up as much, cause they didn’t have to. We had to make an offer Arizona couldn’t contend with. I’m glad they made the move. I gotta believe OBD felt they could work with this guy.
  24. Some of you are out of control lol.. Like they didn’t meet with the guy, talk to his coaches, watch his tape, these are professional evaluators with their careers on the line, I think they see something they can work with here. It wasn’t even a forced EJ Manual pick, it’s the guy they wanted. R-E-L-A-X
