  1. Who is this Poyer guy? I thought he was supposed to suck
  2. Hmmm I think I see a pattern to Dimarco and Tolbert now.
  3. Well thanks for new ideas guys.. Have a fun game day
  4. Days like today make me sad for cancelling directv and not having the Sunday ticket. With the bills and jets not being popular this year even an "illegal" stream would be hard to come by.. So you guys are my play by play today lol
  5. I do think they're still competitive. I don't see the team as being much worse than before all the trading. I can see anywhere from 4-12 to 10-6. I don't think the lack of "weapons" is as big a deal as many seem to think. I think you have a lot of vets coming off the books next year or cheaply replaced players who are here now who can be cut. I expect even more turnover next year through free agency and draft. Everyone seems to think they're tanking for a top 3 pick but I don't think they're gonna be in that ball park. The Billsy thing to do is get the 9th pick lol. But don't rule out other ideas such as unloading those picks for a Kirk cousins (I know not everyone likes him) But at least you know what you're paying for unlike college quarterbacks. You have the chance Peterman is good enough to be a capable starting quarterback in this league and then look at all those picks you have to surround him with pieces. Could go a million different ways. But I don't think this is a tank, just a simple gutting for the most part to change the culture. Players pick up bad habits from previous coaches and how they do things. Nothing wrong with training new employees you way of doing things.
  6. Who said he was motivated by money? Or a me first player lol He's paid to come to work just like everyone else. He could retire if he didn't want to since money isn't important to him right? Just like Boldin did. If he was upset or felt duped by the coaching staff or whatever he could just hang it up. I mean you wanna start threads that are 100% speculation and opinion and then debate everyone who doesn't agree more power to you. But I sure don't feel bad for some guy making millions of dollars who doesn't have to if he doesn't want to right?
  7. What a terrible situation for him. I mean that poor guy has to play another season and collect all those game checks.. Could easily go on IR anytime after/if they're eliminated from the playoffs and nobody would care. I feel horrible for him. I can't believe they had the nerve to ask him to come to work this year and get paid. Gotta suck to be a millionaire
  8. lol I'm one of the very few not too emotional over preseason
  9. They haven't even played a game yet.. you guys are some of the biggest babies I have ever seen. If you're so dang smart at football and how to build a successful roster why are you guys on here? Who are any of us to judge the moves they're making when they haven't even played a game. Were you expecting playoffs or a title run this year? Every new coach people complain they don't tear the team down enough to fully rebuild it. Now they're getting rid of too much young talent. They're keeping too many over the hill vets.. They are tearing it down and starting from scratch.
  10. It has nothing to do with trusting them. It's their jobs on the line not mine. I will cheer for the team they put on the field simple as that. Crying and dissecting everh move they make is accomplishing what? There's already a fire them thread lol
  11. I wish I could say I was surprised this popped up. Fire them 0-0!!!!!!!
  12. I'm a little bit in shock how quickly some seem to turn on this new staff. Is it just a few over and over on here or are there actually a lot of people losing faith in the gm and coach before this season even starts? I'm actually in favor of all the moves they've made. Took me some time to understand but I actually like what they're doing. This season was always gonna be a wash. Even before they took over it's not a solid playoff roster. I don't see it being much different now. They're hoping to compete and maybe with a little luck catch lightning in a bottle. I can see them going anywhere from 4-12 to 10-6. Depending on health and chemistry. Rex is gone but I think it's still the same model being used. "Bully" in your face smashmouth football. Control the clock with the run, keep the defense fresh, grind out some 17-10 wins. How else do you see the team competing? There has not been the personnel to air it out 40 times a game and win 35-10 in a very long time. Maybe it's just me or the times nowadays to criticize everything and first take debate every little thing but I don't get it. Double talk from coaches and gm's is the norm in this league I don't think that makes them less credible. The Rex era was a tire fire from day one. Whaley in my opinion wasn't the worst thing ever but it was time for him to go. I like what I'm seeing from these new guys. Nobody is safe, locker room presence and intelligence means something. Vlad may suck, but none of us have a clue what he brings to the table in terms of helping guys learn the blocking schemes or if he will still be here week 1 or week 10. None of us have a clue who they're targeting bringing in here to upgrade positions. Or if they even feel they need to upgrade or add depth. I think all this negativity comes from people not understanding the team philosophy being built because they want to see explosive offenses like Green Bay or Atlanta or something. That's not gonna be this team. Look at Carolina, they're basically a college run gimmick offense. But they have success if they actually control the clock. Front 4 stays fresh and gets pressure which makes their terrible secondary look decent cause they only have to cover for 3 seconds, any longer and they get exposed. That's kinda the model we're going for. Run run run mixed in with some dump downs to shady and short completions to the tight ends. Sorry just my 2 cents
  13. I cannot believe what a big deal is being made over this receiver. This is basically just a running team. Did anyone watch the Texans with Dennison? They ran and threw to Arian Foster until the guy couldn't even walk anymore, on top of using two tight ends constantly. And this many people are on here crying over some kid who looked ok against a bunch of backups? We didn't just cut a future all pro did we? Receivers in this offense will be lucky to see 12 targets in a game. Not a receiver, the whole group. This coordinator does not design plays for the receivers very much. You're gonna see a ton of Clay O'Leary and shady all year long. Basically all his plays to receivers are just to keep the defense honest. There's a million moves going on I can't believe so much focus went to this guy. He'll be on the practice squad before you know it. Then you can freak out why he's not playing every week and we have scrubs out there.
  14. Overrated: Sammy Watkins (too soon) If were being serious Jerry Hughes. When he's on he's great, but when he's off his effort sucks and so do all the dumb penalties Underrated: Adolphus Washington. Before I get flamed he's got some work to do on his run defense. But dang if that man can't get to the quarterback really fast sometimes. I expect big things from him in this defense subbing in for Kyle and Dareus. League wide Overrated: Dak Prescott and Zeke Elliot Underrated: Delanie Walker
  15. I think what most seem to be missing so far in the preseason is this is obviously a run first team. It's not like shady is touching the ball a whole lot and they're unveiling all the run schemes. Not a ton of play action etc etc. I know the line has looked bad but I kinda feel like most of this is due to lack of talent and lack of consistency of running good plays getting a rhythm going. Not seeing a whole bunch of read option style runs and things of that nature I feel like the defenses we face can basically just play without any real strategy, it's basically a man on man situation and we don't have the talent to win those matchups. Someone always loses their matchup. I am hoping regular season they open it up some and you see the line getting a rhythm for run blocking. I do think just like last year pass protection on the right side may be ugly. Only reason I'm still on the tyrod starting train. I think Peterman would be more successful in this system but id rather not shell shock the poor kid the first few weeks. Tyrod s ability to scramble and avoid defenders covers up some of the lines missed protections
  16. I'm not 100% sure why some think shady would want out. This is primed to be his best year ever!! If the guy stays healthy he will be utilized more this year than any year he's had. Running, catching, he's the number one and possibly only true weapon. If he wants stats this is the year. If he just wants to win and get a ring maybe he wants out. I gotta think he wants the stats this year. He's got a couple years left to chase a ring. Not to mention if he has a monster year and they cut him he can get one final big pay day
  17. Just my opinion.. but I think this is the roster they roll with. I don't think they'll add anything of significance other than maybe some lower tiered cuts. I gotta think O line is the highest priority for them. However this new regime is proving to be kinda unpredictable
  18. Couple trades and everyone loses their minds around here. Let's trade tyrod and sign Kaep Trade shady and we can sign ray rice right? Boldin needs to go he's slow. We can sign Da'rick Rogers Goodbye Cordy, let's sign the retired guy Albert
  19. I think peterman could be very successful in this kind of system. However I would hate to throw him out there week 1 when he's not ready and see him shell shocked the rest of the year. From a passing game standpoint peterman is the guy. However this is a running team and the offense goes through shady, the read option gimmick will be helpful and peterman should not be running that. . Tyrod and his escapability are needed especially with how the O line has looked so far on passing plays
  20. To compare Watkins to a defensive MVP is silly in my opinion. This is a run first team. You don't need "potential" at wide receiver you need production. And it's easy to replace Watkins production in this offensive scheme
  21. Honestly any guys who are up for contracts or want a raise will probably be happy Sammy is gone. Better chance for them to get paid for production. They understand the business side and no new monster contract for Watkins leaves more money for current players and free agents.
  22. Aren't we a run first team employing a quick short west coast offense? I could be wrong but I've seen some Carolina games philly brown can get open on a deep ball. He might drop it lol but he has some speed to his game. Expect to see a lot of passes to shady clay and O'Leary with the wide receivers mixed in. I've said before you can't replace sammys potential, but his production in this offense is easily replaced.
  23. I'd would fully expect shady and clay to have some serious increase in targets. I think that has been the plan all along to use shady clay and O'Leary more in the passing game.
