  1. Ok I’ll play.. in my world I’m gonna trade back a few spots, draft hock, then jump back in the 30’s and snag Harry... with my leftover picks I’m sending some to Tampa for McCoy
  2. I actually really liked the moves minus the pats. I do think metcalf could get snagged that high and I think SF is the perfect team. I would 100% spot on agree for that one. The pats trade I can see happening, minus I don’t think Minnesota even with cap issues is going to let Rudolph out the building. He is tied to Zimmer for as long as he has the job there I think. Zimmer is defense but Rudolph is seriously the key to their entire offense. Without him they can’t run, and diggs and thielen are nowhere near as deadly. I like the outside the box approach for that mock though
  3. Watch and see. When the season kicks off all the national media personalities on the pre game shows and halftime etc etc the ESPN and NFL network crews will all completely bypass the Bills. The only way they get any love is Allen doing something like Mahomes last year or a red hot 4-0 start or something. I’m not sure how it’s typical whining when I said I prefer them to be overlooked.. I generally hate when teams get too hyped up all over tv they get annoying. I think Beane hit major homeruns this free agency as do a lot of buffalo fans. My point was on tv it’ll be all about the jets, and browns, and raiders, and the usual top teams. They won’t be talking about buffalo and all those nice moves you mention, unless they’re completely on fire or we march into the playoffs then they’ll get some love
  4. No way this would fit into one of the other 100 draft threads right? Like maybe the Hock threads??
  5. The Bills will be completely overlooked and not discussed as always. Nothing has changed nationally. Nothing. 90% of people outside bills mafia don’t know anything about the team. Free agency is 100% overlooked. We didn’t get Antonio brown or bell, no other superstars.. So we are clearly a much worse team than the jets browns and raiders. Bills will get zero love and basically most of the shows on tv people watch those guys will actually have to look up new bills players to even discuss them on tv. They will need to start out 4-0 or Allen light the world on fire or something to even get noticed. Which is fine and how I personally like it.
  6. The problem with Hughes and always probably will be is he can’t get inside. He may get “pressures” but a lot of that is just running past the tackle and the quarterback stepping up or around and him getting in striking distance. Hughes could of been super special if he had developed a Dwight freeny kinda spin move. With that said he’s obviously a good/great player but without an end on the other side to crash the right side of the pocket he’s easily avoided most plays. I hated him years ago for the stupid 15 yard penalties (not the ones for slapping his own teammates helmet.. still can’t believe that call standed) But Jerry has been a constant here and a good player and IMO one of the best lop sided trades in league history. It will be interesting to see what kind of contract he demands and if they reward him for his service or let him go.
  7. Did the OP suggest having Hughes as DE in a 3-4 defense? I am all for taking that linebacker if he’s available there but buffalo has zero personnel to run a legit 3-4.
  8. They better win now (laughing) cause in two years they’ll have to cut everyone
  9. Yeah as the above stated it’s all on Allen for Beanes actual success here. If Allen washes out and there’s nobody to replace him he will only last a couple more years. If Allen hits elite status Beane is here for probably as long as Allen. I do like the moves he has made though and I really like the team he’s built us for this season
  10. It takes two to tango.. Lot of variables in there and no guarantee any teams want to move around like that, or that teams won’t trade up in front and snag the players you want. Then what? And I hate the Crabtree and clowney deals but that’s just me
  11. Personally I think they’re all set for the offensive line.. Never hurts to add talent but I’d prefer they wait until round 4 or later, not sure there’s enough spots left to really battle for a spot on that line. Looks pretty stacked to me already.
  12. Sadly this was inevitable unless the NFL gave full blessing to get involved. Also sadly this gives Vince and the XFL a shot of at least surviving a season or two. I think the XFL might have a little better shot depending on the tv deal. Vince somehow got fox to sign his smack down show for a prime time slot which was a huge deal, so the tv deal for the XFL is key, along with what kind of talent they can attract and what kind of league they plan on running.
  13. Beane is clearly building a core group of 10-15 young talented franchise cornerstones. Who will be here a long time. Free agency is just to put some talent around those guys. Moving pieces if you will. Every successful NFL franchise has roughly 10 players everyone can identify and those players stay for 5-10 years. That’s your window. Those 10 players are 99% of the time drafted and retained when the rookie deal expires. You’ll find some exceptions of course but Beanes goal has clearly always been to build his own core group of young players to lead this team into the future
  14. I would send a 3rd and 5th and ask for both please. They both fit in nicely for what this team needs.
  15. Usually.. the post June cuts are done before hand so teams have a better plan at free agency. Unless teams feel they hit extremely high on their draft picks there’s a good chance most of those guys are never cut this year. As I said before teams usually do these cuts early so a) player can line up potential later deals and b) so cap strapped teams have a decent idea of what they can spend in free agency. We always hear “they’re designating him a post June cut” in January and February. Even with those teams being strapped for cash there’s always salaries converting to signing bonuses etc etc to free up room
  16. I can understand the just fix up the current stadium crowd.. Nostalgia and all that. It’s 2019 though.. Terry and Kim have been all about buffalo and building the area up. You build a state of the art domed stadium. You get a Super Bowl.. One super bowl is enough chaos $$$$$ to fill all those political hands for the next 10-15 years. And of course the selling point how it can really boost the economy of the area. I know the stress and damage it causes to a city as well, however the revenue is like nothing else in the world for all the local businesses. I haven’t lived in New York for 10 years so I’m not in the loop as I once was but I fully would expect a state of the art facility that can be used year round and host tons of events.
  17. Well someone had to say it. Kyler Murray? Right? Too small, system quarterback, he may die on the field if Aaron Donald sacks him too hard. I kid kid. For me it’s absolutely Metcalf. I’m having weird flashbacks to the Maybin pick. Obviously kinda different but still the same premise for me. Very little production on tape and an elite combine. If I’m picking in the top 10 I gotta have a player who was productive and elite in college.
  18. This goes to show why all the pre draft hype and media can sway a fan base. Not that Allen is Mr Elite or anything yet, but reading his stats and the draft gurus pre draft influences people so badly they flip out “knowing” it’s a bad pick or bad value etc etc. This thread also goes to show how little faith people had in this front office. As I said earlier Allen hasn’t shown he’s ready to be in the next elite group to takeover after the current elite group retires but his rookie year he showed flashes of being able to take that step. I have always found it kind of funny how passionate people get over the draft and what they read and hear about players and how that sparks the debate over who is right and wrong and a decent amount never even watch these kids play. Allen is mostly what his scouting reports say, but I think given the small sample size he has shown his floor is pretty dang good and a team can be built to win around his style of play.
  19. I have to think Dallas doesn’t make this move if they’re signing Lawrence long term. They are so hurt against the cap going forward I can’t see trading for a high priced rusher who is maybe half as good as Lawrence. Doesn’t Quinn have a nice contract in Miami?
  20. As with us, if they make the jump it’ll be because of Darnold taking his game to a new level. That’s the only way Bell is having some monstrous year is if Darnold is winging it around the field opening up the box for running lanes
  21. I agree. He doesn’t dominate and take over a game like some of these highest paid guys do. Mack, Donald, Lawrence, guys like that completely take over a game at certain points and can’t be blocked. I’ve never seen Clowney even come close to that kind of consistent pressure
  22. I actually picked neither.. Not that they don’t deserve it, but this season coming up should tell if they should get extensions or not. Depending who we add we are going to need a monster year from Hughes and his price won’t be cheap regardless. So he would need to produce big time for me this season if I’m considering extending him. Poyer I’m not so sure about, his play is hot/cold at times. If I had to make the choice right now I wouldn’t extend either
  23. Shady was the same back last year he’s always been, dance dance dance for a loss, eventually break a big one. Issue was the line play was so bad he never broke the big ones. He didn’t lose a step, or get old super fast, he was the same back he’s always been minus the homerun. He’ll be fine this year. He’s not a top 10 back anymore but he’s serviceable
  24. I would definitely say it’s a need. Still shocked Thomas Davis isn’t a bill. He’s perfect for what they needed. I do expect them to pick one in the top 4 they think can play right away, and another later they think they can develop
