That's a very easy "yes" for a few reasons: 1. The Bills had 1 TE active on game day for the second half of 2021 out of NEED. Tommy Sweeney was awful. 2. There are rumors that Ken Dorsey prefers two TE sets. 3. With OJ Howard joining the team, we have two capable blockers and catchers, which helps the offense be "multiple."

Trading Edmunds makes no sense at this point
Rigotz replied to bubba2018's topic in The Stadium Wall
So... who says we would be creating a hole at linebacker? Miles Jack just got 2 years $16M total. We're paying Edmunds 1yr $12M. You think we would replace that $12M salary with nobody? Or, do you think Bobby Wagner, Joe Schobert, Anthony Hitchens, Dont'a Hightowner, etc. will want more than $12M/yr? The only reason to not trade Edmunds is thinking you can't sign a replacement or you can't get a good enough pick for him. -
As much as you guys are gonna hate this… Draft a WR in the 1st and hope to ride the next two years out, then move on when he turns 30. Can’t keep paying everyone $20M/Yr+ and this draft is really talented at WR.

The case for WR: "You never want to lose your fastball" Depth Chart Losses: WR1: Diggs WR2: Sanders WR3: Beasley WR4: Davis WR5: McKenzie WR6: Jake Kumerow WR7: Isaiah Hodgins WR8: Tanner Gentry Best WR left in Free Agency: Odell Beckham - torn ACL Jarvis Landry JuJu Smith-Schuster Marques Valdes-Scantling TY Hilton Jamison Crowder Sammy Watkins Will Fuller Keelan Cole AJ Green Emannuel Sanders The case for CB: "Questionable starters and lack of certainty in Tre White's return" CB1: Tre White - hopeful return week 6-10 CB2: Levi Wallace Nickel: Taron Johnson CB3: Dane Jackson CB4: Siran Neal CB5: Cam Lewis CB6: Olaijah Griffin CB7: Nick McCloud Best CB left in Free Agency: Stephon Gilmore Tyrann Mathieu (CB/S) Jackrabbit Jenkins Donte Jackson Steven Nelson Patrick Peterson Bryce Callahan Joe Haden Robert Alford AJ Bouye "BPA" is the easy answer, but given equally talented players at both positions, which would you pick to address first?

I would be worried if the Vikings didn’t have $1.7M in cap space and basically no restructure moves left.

AZ cuts Jordan Phillips - now signed by Bills
Rigotz replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Well, good thing we're getting Tre White back and drafting a CB in the first 1-2 rounds and probably more late. -
why give up a 2nd and 6th round pick when you don’t have to….

Reminds me of the John Brown move. Loved Beasley, but he’s getting older, he’s expensive, and Josh gave him better numbers than he ever had in his lifetime. A young guy will be even better.

Deshaun Watson trade down to 2 teams - Falcons & Saints
Rigotz replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Deshaun Watson was raised in Gainesville, Georgia. 1 hour drive from Clemson where he played college ball. 1 hour drive from Atlanta and he grew up rooting for the Falcons. Born in 1995 -- Mike Vick was with the Falcons 2001-2006. Wonder where this mobile QB with a rocket arm drew his inspiration from? I never really connected these dots until this moment.... it's gotta be a done deal for the Falcons. -
Can you just be happy for one minute? Damn

Get him and Shaq on cheap 1-yr deals. They WANT to play here. At worst, very solid depth. -
Remember when everyone wanted to trade a 2nd round pick for him?

Chandler Jones signing with Raiders - 3 years, $52.5 mill
Rigotz replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
“it’s not about the money” he says… -
Not a shocker at all. Extremely high paid Right Guard who isn't an extremely talented Right Guard. We paid him like a tackle because that's what he was. He gave us average play at both Tackle and Guard. Plenty of people saw this coming.
-
We paid Taiwan Jones $1.66M last year as a "Running Back" but he was just a Special Teamer. He never played on Offense. Or think about guys like Matt Breida and Zach Moss, who bring zero value on Special Teams, so they were sometimes healthy scratches. If a Running Back can't play Special Teams, his value is way more limited. Replacing Breida and Jones with RB's who can also play Special Teams well is a huge upgrade. It opens up the roster to not needing guys JUST for Special Teams like Kumerow, Matakevich, Neal, etc.
-
So.... who do you put in on 4th and 3? This guy or Devin Singletary? He's 5'9' 210 and has "moments of passivity when headed between tackles while tapping brakes into traffic" I don't understand what traits this guy brings that we don't already have. We need the fastest RB in the draft or a guy that can break tackles consistently and Borghi is neither.

Khalil Mack traded to Chargers for 2nd and 6th round picks
Rigotz replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall
For those searching for silver linings: 1) Bosa and Mack will beat up Mahomes 2x per regular season. 2) The price for an elite DE trade is now set. We won't have to pay more than a 2nd and 6th for a guy with similar skill set and cap hit to Mack. -
If the Bills sign Bobby Wagner, it probably won't be to a 1 year deal. The mid-to-late round ILB is simply to provide depth and hope he learns from Wagner so in 2-3 years, you have a contingency plan. Of course it's not a slam dunk, that's why they're not first round picks, but being groomed under an all-pro increases your chances. Haha unfortunately you're right. Trading Edmunds for a high pick is more difficult than it sounds because the team trading for him would ALSO target Bobby Wagner in free agency and would not have to give up picks. You'd have to trade Edmunds to an undesirable location like Jax that has trouble attracting Free Agents.
-
Signing Wagner and trading Edmunds would be a dream. - Upgrade the ILB position. - Get draft capital back for Edmunds. - Edmunds fully gtd $12.7M 5th year option moves to the new team at no penalty. - Groom a mid-to-late round ILB behind Wagner, an All-Pro.

Does the strategy change when a team is this close to the SB?
Rigotz replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall
It depends on the age of your superstars. If you have a 25 year old elite QB, you don't mortgage your future on winning short term. If you have a 35+ or 40+ year old elite QB, the story changes. There is almost zero chance the Bills should or would mortgage their future for one player. The Randy Moss trade was for a 4th round pick. At the time, he looked awful and unmotivated on the Raiders. It was just a good trade for NE. -
Where are you getting those numbers? Spotrac has it completely different.
