  1. I had so much spontaneous energy when that happened, all I could do was pace around my house going, “It’s over! The drought is done! I don’t care if they get whooped by fifty points next week, the drought is over and I don’t have to hear about it ever again!”
  2. It is said that if you seek far and wide the reaches of the foosball universe, you will encounter the Wise Old Punt Returner. You must solve riddles three and catch punts for me. Ask not for whom the ball punts, it punts for thee!
  3. The dude should've stayed home. Can't ask for a better career. Six titles with the Patriots and then he goes to Tampa and wins another one to show everyone he didn't need ol' Belichunks. Multiple league and Super Bowl MVPs, All Pros, Pro Bowls, records, first ballot HOF, etc. And yet, it's really seems like the guy wants to keep playing simply to prove he can. "Don't think I can do it at 45?! Watch this!" At this point I think all of us are like, "Tom, we get it. You've won at both football and life, you can go home now and collect that fat Fox Sports analyst money." There's just nothing left for the guy to do.
  4. I've always hated when stupid little five yard penalties result in an automatic first down. Seems dumb. I've also always thought "half the distance to the goal" is dumb as well. Why not kick the first down marker further down field in those situations? A team is backed up on their own five yard line, any penalty is gonna result in the loss of 2.5 yards, big whoop. But if they're on their own five and take a holding penalty, now the first down marker gets moved from the 15 to the 25 and it'd be 1st (or whatever down) and 20. Thought that always made a bit more sense, surprised it's never been proposed.
  5. Yeesh. That's way too much for that dude. Pretty good player but has missed 23 out of 33 games since 2020. I thought he'd go for like a 3rd, a 5th, and a player or something, but they got a haul. Niners are dumdums.
  6. Based on what I've heard and read about the dudes attitude it would seem he wouldn't be the greatest fit here. That's not to say they'd never take a chance on him. Part of their job is doing their homework on available players so I'm sure his name will come up in discussions at OBD. And at this point I'm sure they feel their locker room is strong enough to handle a guy who might not fit the process to a T.
  7. He's been steady. He seems to always emerge as "the guy" of the backfield no matter who else they bring in to compete. Not the fastest dude but super shifty with some gnarly cutting ability, pretty good vision, and really really good contact balance. I'm sure they wanna get Cook more involved but they always move things pretty slowly with rookies. I really wanted to like Zach Moss. I gotta be one of the last fans still holding out a shred of hope he can be somewhat productive...or at least get a late round draft pick for or something.
  8. Monster game. It was really nice to see Mahomes suffer some misfortune at the end there. It felt like every time there was an incompletion he would just point at the Bills defense and the zebras would throw a flag for him. Some awful calls in this one. Josh is a maniac and my hero. All three TD passes today were absolute dimes. I remember when they said his long ball accuracy was no good. Pssh! Devin Singletary is RB1 and there's no real reason to mess with that. Let Cook get his reps but Singletary is the guy. If Matt Milano isn't an All Pro this season then the whole thing is rigged. Give Von Miller another $120 million, I don't care, worth every penny. His third down sack got them the ball back which they then turned into points and the lead. And his pressure forced a pick to win the game. Hope Spencer Brown is alright. Dave Quessenberry seems like a swell guy with a heartwarming story but yikes on bikes he was getting roughed up out there. Took his lunch money, kicked him in the shins and dumped over his bike, poor fella. Just really tired of seeing downed Bills on the field this season. McKenzie would probably like a do-over, he had a rough one. Seemed like his head wasn't 100% in the game. Wonder if he's still feeling some concussion effects. Can't wait to get Tre back! They can rotate Jackson/Elam/Benford on the other side if they want. Great game. Just gotta quit it with the early mistakes and turnovers, leaving points out there again is no bueno but it's a win so onward we march. Or mush. Whichever.
  9. Yeah, the narrative always seems to be changing with that guy. I've also always found it odd how whenever Josh runs, whether it's a scramble or a called run, almost everyone is like, "Yeah he can run and that's a great asset but geez he sure needs to be careful out there!" Meanwhile, Lamar runs it 15 times a game and they say, "What a dynamic athlete!" Haha. Aside from that tho, Lamar still isn't the best thrower. He still misses open guys with throws that are too high or behind.
  10. Yeah that was a bummer for Cleveland. It's like...I want both teams to lose but in this case I'd rather it be the Pats. And that was a weird play. I thought the guy who stepped out had to be either the first one to touch the ball or the one to recover it, but he didn't do either of those. His teammate was in the process of recovering it when he slid in there and touched it. I guess I didn't really know that rule.
  11. I don't see this "competitive" team in the Jets that some are talking about. I see a Packers team that's playing like hot garbage, missing tackles, blown assignments, allowed a blocked punt, missed a field goal, the OL has protected Rodgers about as well as a pile of wet toilet paper today. Wilson had 28 yards passing the entire first half. He completed a 41 yard pass that was really underthrown and the Packers basically decided to quit tackling any Jets RBs today.
  12. All pretty good stuff. It's good to see coaches like McDermott staying on top of the psychological aspect of things. It's more than just the X's and O's and "just do your job." You've gotta know how to reach your players, what makes them tick, what motivates them, how they best learn and digest new information, etc. I'm reminded of the Hail Murray game in 2020. The Cards celebrated like they'd just won the Super Bowl. And everyone wanted to classify it as some huge, devastating loss for the Bills. In reality, the Bills saw how they reacted, they remained stoic about it and just were like, "Yeah, alright, you have fun with that, we'll be alright" and then they didn't lose another game until the AFC Championship. They're a well coached team despite what some on the forums here would have you believe.
  13. As far as I can tell, some unverified dude on Twitter claiming to have sources said Carolina is asking for a second round pick and RB Devin Singletary for RB Christian McCaffrey.
  14. He hasn't exactly been spectacular. He's wiffed on some stuff and been flat out beaten on other reps. As it stands right now tho, he and Dawkins are their most consistent OL. Others have mentioned him but I really wonder what's up with Daryl Williams. I'd say he and Saffold are about even yet Williams is still a free agent. I wonder if there are injury issues we don't know about or something. OL play across the league is always poopy to start the season so you'd think an experienced and versatile guy like Williams would get picked up somewhere but as far as I've seen he's still unsigned.
  15. I think he's definitely earned himself some playing time even when McKenzie returns. But I don't think you phase out McKenzie for him right now. McKenzie is talented in his own right and has a role on offense. He can play ahead of Crowder, tho.
  16. Every game broadcast has a list of talking points these guys are supposed to hit. It's irritating sometimes when they keep trying to create a narrative that isn't there, though. Was it a little windy out there? Sure. But they were kinda playing it up like there were typhoon-style winds going on and we were all gonna get swept away to Oz or something. Nothing will ever top the Bruschi Play Counter from years ago. Good lord that was the worst game broadcast in history.
  17. Haha I was digging thru some random cards today and came across a rookie card for old Rosen. I looked at it and said, aw man, wish it was the other Josh.
  18. That ref is a real weenie. He probably got shoved into lockers during high school.
  19. I was sitting on one side of the couch when they scored the 98 yard TD. Then the pick happened so I was like, I better switch it up and sit over on the other side. So I did that and bam, 62 yard one-handed TD catch. The magic of the couch.
  20. I had mentioned during the game that Shakir and Cook both had their first TDs today. Good call on Elam, forgot about that. He had a pretty rough day otherwise, Pickens was getting open on him all day. Overall I think he's gonna be a good one but there'll be days like today for sure Shakir lives up to his scouting reports. He doesn't wow you with any one thing he does but he does everything very well. He's slippery out there, good vision and just finds lanes to get thru, and then going up and snagging that one up the seam, really good stuff from him today. Bummer he made all the tough grabs but dropped the gimme haha. And great run by Cook, he saw it and went and the line did their job as close to perfect as you can considering nobody touched him from 24 yards out. They're still working him in slowly but if he keeps taking advantage of the opportunities he'll definitely be on the field more.
  21. Why are you the way that you are? Yeesh. I feel like OP the type that'd watch this Bills team win the Super Bowl and jump on the board to say, "OK, cool win and all BUT...my concern is with the punt return team because they did all fair catches today. Is anyone else worried?! I really think Beane needs to trade a bunch of picks for some real special teams players!" I mean....you realize the fans on this forum are aware of the teams shortcomings, right? And if they weren't aware, well, I guess we've got you to remind us. As many others have mentioned, Keenum has played in garbage time with backups. Things would likely be different if he was working behind the starting OL and had the full cast of skill players at his disposal. *old man mumbling* ...win the game by 35 GD points and we're talking about the frigging number two QB, this is just...why I oughta...I oughta see what's in the fridge ...
  22. I felt like he was one of the best WRs coming out of the 2022 group. He's been hyped since high school but he was inconsistent at Georgia and dealt with injuries. There was also speculation on his attitude and coachability but if he puts it all together I think he's gonna be a good one. Aside from the INT, dude was eatin' Elam's lunch all day.
  23. I'm sure they'll be looking for more ways to get him involved. But they also bring their rookies along very slowly unless they're forced to play them more due to injuries.
  24. According to a post I saw on this board earlier he shall be moving to safety so I guess Poyer gonna have to go. Yup. Adios, All Pro Po...Pick Six Po...Pick Ya Nose Po....
  25. Grew up out in Chautauqua County so I got to go to a bunch of camps in the early 90s. I've got signed cards, hats, footballs, etc. In fact I just found my signed Jim Kelly cards. Think I'm gonna send them off to be graded and authenticated. Favorite memory was probably when I was ten and Jim came zipping thru on a golf cart. He saw me and a buncha other kids so he stopped to sign autos. He signed my dogeared Pro Set card but when I turned to leave there was a crowd. So I just kinda quietly sat there on the cart next to him while he signed autographs for about ten minutes. Met Marshawn Lynch in Hamburg Walmart the week Jauron was fired in November 2009. I asked if he thought firing him was a good move and he just be said, "Above my pay grade, man, but hopefully for the best. Y'all should be Raiders fans!" I worked in a group home at the time and had a resident with me that was a huge fan. Marshawn grabbed a pen and piece of receipt tape from the cashier and signed an auto for the guy. And that dude talked about it endlessly. Haven't worked there in over a decade but I bet if I ran into the guy tomorrow he'd say, hey remember that time we met Marshawn Lynch?! Got to chill in the VIP tent for camp in 2015. Had a mini helmet signed by the Cold Front guys, Kyle, Jerry, Mario, and Marcell. Kyle seems like a great dude. Someone asked what he thought about Rex's defense and while he gave a diplomatic answer the look on his face said he likely wasn't thrilled to be switching systems. Mario was quiet but nice. Marcell was a goofball, truly just a big unguided kid. And Jerry just seemed to have a really chill/cool vibe to him. Like other players on the team seemed to gravitate towards him because he has this big fun personality. Also met EJ that year and holy guacamole that dude is huge. Lynch was also remarkably bigger in person. Don't know how he fits thru a standard sized door without his monstrous shoulders smashing thru the frame. My cousin did PR with the team right out of college. His job was to be on site for rookie appearances and events that the rookies are typically contracted to do. He actually became pretty chummy with Eric Wood and hung out to grab beers with him a few times. Said he's a good dude and just absolutely loves football. All of this pales in comparison to the one time about three years ago I saw Siran Neal in Walmart. We were buying the same shampoo. We shared the silent "sup" head nod greeting. And I silently swore that I wouldn't tell anyone that Siran was having some dandruff issues. ....whoops
