  1. Neither team looked very good... however it seems like the Phins are carrying themselves with some sort of swagger like they've actually accomplished something...
  2. It's none of the reasons you two seem to think it is... Howard's best trait coming out of Alabama in 2017 was his freak athleticism. In 2020 he tore his Achilles and hasn't been the same since. Reports from camp and the pre-season all said the same thing: the dude looked slow and laboring in his route running and his blocking wasn't any better than Morris or Sweeney. Bucs fans warned us that the dude just wasn't the same after that injury. He missed most of 2020 and when he came back in 2021 he was the third TE behind Gronk and Cameron Brate, who isn't exactly an All-Pro. The Bills took a chance to see if he was anywhere near where he was before the injury and it seems he wasn't so he didn't make the team. It happens.
  3. I thought they walked right past each other during the postgame handshakes and whatnot but I went back and it's Rams #92 that he passes. AD probably mad that Von didn't add his trademark strangle moves to his game. Phew... I'm so glad he said we could blink, I was afraid me eyeballs were gonna get stuck wide open. Dude is a character. Team really seems to love the guy, youse love to see it.
  4. I thought ol' McCorkle turned the corner this season? He's bigger, faster, stronger, better.... he just threw the ball into the dirt with Algholor wide open.
  5. Anyone know how to catch different games than what my YouTubeTV is giving me? I wanna see how Mitch does in Pittsburgh and I kinda like that Joey B. But I only have a choice of either Eagles vs Lions or Phins vs Pats at 1. I tried using a VPN but I dunno if that's gonna work. Any tips are appreciated.
  6. This was an excellent breakdown. I really liked how he highlights one of their RPO plays. They show like they're going right and it freezes the DE on that side but the wrinkle they threw in is they pull Brown to the left and Josh went behind him. Seems like Dorsey has come up with some really creative stuff and it also looked a little more simplified out there. Didn't see as much pre-snap motion as Daboll would use. Just a really good mix and variety of plays and personnel. Rams didn't have much of an answer all night. They really are lucky Bills turned it over four times or they may have scored on every possession again.
  7. I'm not really concerned with the defensive backs. McDermott knows how to coach that position and the system plays to their strengths.
  8. There are some real mental gymnastics a lot of Phins fans have been doing. They simultaneously believe Josh sucks and is an overrated bum while thinking Tua is in line for a "massive year three jump forward just like Josh Allen." And Tua isn't even attempting this throw, not in that same situation anyway. Also, Josh makes this throw on the run. I dunno if anyone watches The QB School on YouTube with JT O'Sullivan but his breakdowns are pretty good and he applies criticism where it's warranted. He said this throw was absolutely ridiculous and he doesn't know many QBs that would even try it let alone connect on it. Phins fans....da skidmarks of the NFL audience.
  9. Has it been reported on how many years he's looking for on his extension? I know that's probably something they could get hung up on. Poyer is 31, not that he can't still go but you know how it goes in football, you hit 30 and people start looking for the decline. I'd imagine maybe a two year extension? That'd keep him here through 2024. Either way, I hope it all works out. If anything, McDermott knows how to coach defensive backs. Tre and Kaiir are first round guys but Dane Jackson was a 7th rounder and he's done pretty well. Christian Benford went in the 6th and won the starting gig for now. Hyde went in the 5th, Poyer in the 7th. Ol' Josh Norman was a 5th and had his best days in Carolina while McDermott was the DC there. Jaquan Johnson (6th round) looks like he could be a solid replacement. All I've read on the guy is that he has every trait you look for in a safety and has a natural knack for the position and always seems to be around the ball...he's just undersized. Taron Johnson was a 4th round guy and he's only turned into one of the best slot CBs in the game. Levi Wallace was undrafted and just held down the starting spot across from Tre for like four seasons. Siran Neal is a jack of all trades in the secondary and a core special teamer. If they can't retain Poyer, I won't be too bummed because I'm confident they'll find an adequate replacement.
  10. OP you sound like the kind of "fan" that would see Josh Allen out getting a pizza and you'd jump on here and say, "Shouldn't he be studying his playbook?!" Blechhhh. Knock it off. There's nothing to go off. Kid carried the ball once, fumbled it, sat the rest of the game, it happens. He'll be fine. And are you a psychiatrist? You've studied his behaviors and traits and made a scientific conclusion, yes? Go outside.
  11. After using the Time Stone to peer into fourteen million different futures I can tell you the answer is... NEVAAAHHHHH!!!!! As it should be, because Jalen Ramsey is an overrated buttdumpling. And, I've gotta say, I've never really seen it with Ramsey. I'm sure he has good games but I don't think he's a top tier CB like the talking heads all claim. Maybe Josh just makes him his biatch every time they play, I dunno, but the dude always seems to be doing a whole lotta yappin' and a whole lotta nothin' on the field.
  12. Aw man, I heard that's his good horse riding foot.
  13. But I already bought the mat...
  14. I don't get as concerned as many others do. The dude is 6'5" 250 lbs, he's bigger than all DBs and most LBs. Just listen to some defenders about him. Darius Leonard said he hit the dude with everything he had and he got ran over anyway. Joey Bosa during a game was like "What am I supposed to do, let him run me over? He's f@$#in' huge!" I mean yeah I'd rather he not get walloped by DL as big as he is but that's part of the game and he knows how and when to protect himself. I also find it kind of odd that nearly every time Josh takes off for a run there has to be chatter about "oh he needs to be careful, he could get hurt, coach won't like that one!" Yet when Lamar Jackson is out there racking up 125 yards on the ground every game everyone's just, "Wow what an amazing player he is, the running is such a big part of his game!" I mean for cripes sake the Ravens redesigned their entire offense because of his running ability. I'm sure they're concerned about injury as well but it seems like you never hear much about that. But noted Monstar Josh Allen trucks over a 5'10" 185 lb DB and it's yappidy yap from 37 talking heads about how he needs to be careful.
  15. You know that's not how any of this works, man! Bills could win the Super Bowl with a game more perfect than the Wild Card game against the Pats and some knucklehead would be like "yeah but the defense allowed 5 first downs and I'm concerned."
  16. I got uh, lemme see here...a secret decoder ring from the gumball machine I got at Ames in 1987. I've got a used car mat. One slinky. A broken VCR and a sock full of nickels. The Backyard Fat Guys have signed Lamar Jackson.
  17. One of them new hybrid "rass" plays originated by King Shorts back in the 2021 Wild Card game against Indy. He's gonna run it, wait no he's not, he's throwing it.
  18. Something I always see a lot of numbers people and stat-heads yap about is quantity... how many receptions for how many yards, etc. etc. They oughta mention quality as well. Some dudes end up with 100 receptions a year and 50 of them are five yard little dump-offs behind the line. Some guys might only have 65 receptions but like 10 of them went for TDs, 28 went for first downs, etc. I feel like that sometimes gets overlooked.
  19. Well this is pleasant news amongst the pro wrestling mess from this week, which I only mention because I'm going to AEW Dynamite tonight up at KeyBank. Anywho, the Beane-McDermott draft > develop > extend has yielded... -Tre White -Dion Dawkins -Matt Milano -Josh Allen -Taron Johnson -Siran Neal -Dawson Knox -Reggie Gilliam I'd imagine guys like Edmunds and Oliver are next in line for an extension. Maybe even late round guys like Jaquan Johnson who they seem pretty high on. And I think this season will determine whether they keep Singletary or Moss.
  20. I mean maybe he's pointing to the Jacksonville game? But the team as a whole didn't perform well that day. I'd say all QBs get fooled now and then. But I wouldn't say "routinely" for Josh, not based on watching him his entire career and seeing the steady improvements in his game. Also, go watch that half hour chat he had with Chris Simms last week. Lot of great insight on how the dude thinks and sees things out there. Sounds way too informed and intelligent to be a guy who's "routinely" tricked by disguised coverages. Also, I heard Steven Ruiz talking about Josh's mama, therefore the dude is a bum.
  21. All in all a pretty fair assessment. Belichunks has never drafted well and his assistant coaches often don't succeed on other teams. Every now and then they develop a mid to late round guy or an undrafted guy. Can't say the ol Hoodie isn't one of the all time greats but Brady made up for so much on those teams over the years. Allowed Belichunks to always focus more on defense and if things with the offense didn't look so hot on paper they'd just shurg and go "meh we still have Tom" and just roll the dice with whatever they had on offense.
  22. I was watching a breakdown video he did on the run game and I started to feel like Jules in Pulp Fiction, except it wasn’t “Say ‘what’ one more GD time!” It was, “Say ‘north and south’ one more GD time!” He dropped the term every 30 seconds, it became irritating enough for me to ditch the video. His stuff isn’t bad, he knows the X’s and O’s, he did that online scouting academy thing, but I don’t think much of his delivery.
  23. I had a similar thought, dunno when it could happen but if Jimmy's hanging around he might be thinking he's gonna wind up the starter again sometime down the road.
  24. I was scrolling through a list of all cuts around the league and I zipped past Cleveland and I see what my eyes tell me is, "OL Wyatt Teller" and I was like, WTF?! Nope, it was an OL named Wyatt Miller, lol.
