Has league-wide officiating gotten worse?
LABILLBACKER replied to The Red King's topic in The Stadium Wall
No I don't think they are. They only time they are probably even reprimanded is a extreme blatant miss like the Saints/Rams a couple years ago. Officiating has been gradually getting worse every year. The Bills don't even have to be involved anymore. Shawn Smith's crew last Sunday is one of the worst. Why the NFL doesn't go with FT refs is mindboggling. -
State Farm is lucky he didn't have 4 ints in this game.

What a moron. You take the time out at 2:40, not after the 2 min warning.

Singletary Appreciation Thread
LABILLBACKER replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
So true DO, whether you lean toward Devin or Zach, the bottom line is their struggles reflect the inability of our OL to create any holes. Even small ones. Brandon will have his work cut out this spring. Maybe we can steal a Guard tomorrow? -

Actually Moss is a substantially better pass receiver and it's not close. -
What team scares you the most?
LABILLBACKER replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall
Nobody wants to face KC in the first round. Without Henry, Tennessee is done. I guess my answer in the AFC would be the Ravens. Two teams with athletic qbs and good defenses. They gave us everything we wanted until Taron's pic 6. If the Rams have the best record in the NFC they could stay in LA and not have to travel for 5 weeks. Beware the Rams playing at home in the SB. -
If we trade for a RB, who would you want?

Winning answer....end of thread.... -
During the 1970's the Fish dominated winning 20 straight. No one called Shula classless. Maybe Levy needed a little more bully and less historian in his diet. I don't think McD and Flores care for each other. Wasn't a fan of the 2pt attempt because it was completely unneccessary. But I'm not going to lose sleep over yesterday. Beat teams up like Belichick did constantly and don't apologize for it.

This O-line is why the Bills won’t win it all this year.
LABILLBACKER replied to JY422's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think we can get to the SB this year but actually winning it will depend entirely on Josh's athleticism. If he had the pocket protection or running game that Brady had in NE, this would be game over. I have no doubt Beane will focus heavy on OL in the draft and FA. -
11/1 MNF Manningcast - Josh Allen will appear

The Edmunds Report - Week 8, Fish v. Bills, 10/31/21
LABILLBACKER replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
I just don't value a LB dropping back into open grass guarding "open grass". Hoping someone just happens to run a cross route right in front of him. Sorry but for a 1st rounder that we traded up for I need an occassional TFL, maybe a deflected ball that turns into an INT. Asking for a FF would be way too much to ask. He's a mediocre MLB who does what McD asks of him, and makes just enough plays for conversation to be directed elsewhere. Some fans like him more than others. -
This -1,0,+1 Edmund's report is kinda like the QBR.

QBR is worthless; Tua higher than Allen
LABILLBACKER replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall
Everyone just ignore this ridiculous qbr. It's always been flawed. The qb rating is all you need to see. Then sprinkle in Josh's running stats as gravy. -
The Edmunds Report - Week 8, Fish v. Bills, 10/31/21
LABILLBACKER replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
He'll never be a good pass rusher or blitzer. He's marginal on selecting the right gap or getting off blocks. He's great on man pass coverage and kinda worthless when he drops back in zone coverage. It is what it is. He might stick around but he's not getting a huge contract. -
Someone needs to address the Jerry Hughes blackball issue.
LABILLBACKER replied to LABILLBACKER's topic in The Stadium Wall
They do that for ad revenue and nothing more. In Jerry's case he simply pissed them off, so an unwritten memo went out among the ref brethren. McD has to be aware of this narrative. -
Someone needs to address the Jerry Hughes blackball issue.
LABILLBACKER replied to LABILLBACKER's topic in The Stadium Wall
It is absolutely intentional and the refs/shield know it, but ignore it. That's my intent for starting this long overdue thread. We all know Jerry's long history. The refs have collectively decided to make an example of him for challenging their power and authority. No matter how hard Jerry plays there will be ignored calls. This almost makes him a functioning "liability". If you call out the shield, will it make it worse? What do you do? -
It doesn't matter. We won't magically improve our run game with Breida or King Henry. Our OL sucks at run blocking and they know it. Daboll continues to pretend he can run Singletary or Moss 6x each at 3 yards a pop. This entire OL needs an overhaul and unfortunately that won't come till maybe next year. We just have to be smart and take our shots at screens or dump offs.

I know it might be too late to turn this around for Jerry. He's played great this season even though the stats may not reflect it. You have to have some integrity in your league and it's refs. McD has to address this in some manner. The refs are part of a "good ole boys club" that wields more power than you think. -
Someone needs to address the Jerry Hughes blackball issue.
LABILLBACKER replied to LABILLBACKER's topic in The Stadium Wall
Great now Groot's not getting calls....it's just so infuriating. We watched this develop for years. Every single OC in the league is aware of this blackball. Just tell your lineman to do anything and everything. It's like playing with 10 no matter how much effort Jerry puts in. -
Someone needs to address why the entire league of refs refuse to do their job with regard to Jerry Hughes. This is beyond blatant. They've decided collectively to screw him because of his history of complaining. Today in the 1st quarter he was blatantly held around his neck. Later in the game he has his helmet completely torn off as the announcers were waiting for a flag. No matter how hard he plays these cowards refuse to do their job. Shawn Smith and his crew are disgraces. And frankly so are the rest of these candy ass es.
