How often top UFA WRs get open vs single man coverage
LABILLBACKER replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think Mooney makes the most sense on a reasonable deal under 10M/ yr. He's had garbage qb-ing over his time in Chicago. Josh would explode his numbers. But 10M or more forget it. Just draft guys. -
So very true....we were so smart with Edmunds & Davis, yet I think Josh's friendship influenced the quick decision. Now we know Kincaid is far superior and unfortunately we're stuck with an expensive blocking TE. We gotta start ending these contracts. The money from Knox and Von alone could be put to better use.

Like I've said 100x, if Josh had Reid & Spags he'd have 2 rings by now. McDermott is the definition of playoff mediocrity.

Cover 1's Top Free Agent Fits for the Bills
LABILLBACKER replied to BillsFanForever19's topic in The Stadium Wall
Spend whatever FA money we have on defense. Jones & Greenard, maybe Chinn or Gilman....then 70% of the draft on offense...at least 2 wrs. -
The difference between Patrick and Josh is very small. Give Josh coaches like Andy & Spags along with Travis & Tyreek and he's got 2 rings. Both qbs are dead even in athleticism yet Mahomes processes plays faster. Give Patrick McDermott and Dorsey and he's hating life. Mahomes infrastructure is worlds better in KC.
-
Totally agree....if he was a couple years younger maybe, but averaging 5tds/ season hardly screams someone Josh deserves. Terry's catch rate of 62% is a little low too. I'd rather draft 2 young guys and hope one becomes the WR1 stud to replace Diggs.

Consider me Thomas then Mitchell. If they're available you grab Thomas. Let's see how the combine looks for them? I'll go after Sweat in the 2nd.

When healthy: we were the best team in the league.

Listen, our D line never generates pressure in the playoffs. It's a disturbing anomaly dating back to the Houston game. Klein being old, rusty and basically unprepared didn't help. But there were defensive breakdowns all over the D that day. Let's face it everyone, Andy is just worlds better than Sean in scheming. And that's not likely ever going to change. -
Chiefs are just better than the Bills

Salary cap question, Leonard Floyd’s dead cap
LABILLBACKER replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah I'm officially done kicking the can down the road. Time to start kicking some bad contracts off this team. -
Is it time to grow concerned about Greg Rousseau?
LABILLBACKER replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
Neither merits a raise nor can either consistently get home. If you want to hurdle KC, you actually have to sack Mahomes. Not almost sack him. I could live with giving Floyd a 2yr deal @ 7M per yr. But there's no way I'm paying Groot 15+ unless he can have a 10 or 12 sack season. -

LABILLBACKER replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
Totally agree.....I'm very concerned. Greg has played 3 full seasons and is averaging 5.6 sacks per season. I would expect a little more from a 1st round DE, regardless of whether he was picked 20th or 30th. I'm not extending and paying 15-20M until he can prove double digit sacks. Right now he's just Chris Kelsay. -

Yup, we got some big contracts with underperforming players that need to be extinguished. Start chipping away. Von...the gift that keeps on "not giving"..... -

Milano going down was catastrophic. He's basically our only true All Pro player on our defense. Tre & DQ going down again paired with Von never stepping up destroyed the season. Even the 6 game winning streak was riddled with close calls against weaker opponents. The only way we can pass Cincy or KC in the playoffs is with a fully healthy defense. If the gang can find a strength & conditioning team to minimize injuries this fall, sky's the limit. Bernard paired with Matt is collasal. Still have my doubts about our front 4 pressure? It's critical we get out week 1 on a great start. And draft Josh new weapons. -
How clutch was Josh in 2023? No other QB even came close
LABILLBACKER replied to DJB's topic in The Stadium Wall
It was reported and confirmed that Tiger and his people invited Josh. Not the other way around. That says alot. -
We could afford him by simply clicking our heels together and hope Von gets suspended.

What is your level of patience on not advancing to the Super Bowl?
LABILLBACKER replied to Chaos's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm 65 and wanted his arse canned after 13 seconds of pure coaching idiocy. But clearly the majority of "partcipation trophy" fans of McD are content to win some reg. season games for the sheer entertainment. Go figure?....watching this team fail every year in the playoffs hardly screams entertainment. But if you set the bar low you'll never be disappointed. -
Allen needs to mentally overpower Mahomes
LABILLBACKER replied to Thrivefourfive's topic in The Stadium Wall
Maybe out of pity we can create a subspace on this board for rejected Chiefs fans like Zerovoltz, Billl and SaulGoodman. Go away you pure annoyances and slither back to your worthless kingdom. -

I think the easiest move to start with is to cut both Harty & Hines. It immediately saves 8.7M. It's not like punts and returns happen that often anyway. Nor did Dorsey or Brady incorporate them into the offense to begin with. Draft a wr in the 4th or beyond who can also return. -

This podcast was amazing and time well spent. Mooney was the other wr they mentioned and he would be the one I'd target. They're spot on regarding going after DQ first. Diggs is going nowhere nor should he. What happens to Tre will depend on how mentally ready he is to continue. Physically I think he will be fine come September. -
Bills should sign Blaine Gabbert as backup QB
LABILLBACKER replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
Bills should stop wasting $2.5M every year on guys like Trabisky or Allen and draft a 6th or 7th round developmental qb on a cheap 4 year deal. It's not like Josh is getting injured anyway. -

Tre will be the trickiest decision the organization has to make this spring. You can't ignore what his leadership has meant to this team. The ACL takes 18 full months of recovery as we saw with Von. Recovery time for a Achilles is 8 months. The first thing McB has to do is see if Tre is mentally ready to continue. Beyond that who knows what happens?
