Little plays all add up. Especially against a team like KC which will cut your heart out. You can't miss an xp. You can't muff a punt. Your best player CMC can't fumble on what should've been an opening drive td. Spags made adjustments after halftime. Shanny not so much?

Beast, your optimistic yet wrong predictions are always appreciated and commendable. But this naive vision (routine) that we can get this done is getting old. Josh and his Superman act will get us to a point. But his coaches and teammates will always let him down. Besides now that Mahomes is officially anointed as the next Brady, he and his team will get all the advantages that goes with that.

As weak sauce as McDermott is, it's not even about him anymore. This league is clearly madly in love with Patty as they were Brady. Parity is only for losers who believe in regular season accomplishments. We desperately need a state of the art offensive HC. I laugh at McDermott's playoff defense every damn year. Josh does it all yet so many of his teammates fail him. 2024 will end the same way the previous 5 did.

Yup....no doubt....this will become Brady 2.0 for the NFL. Cant wait to see how compelling watching NFL games knowing Mahomes will be in the next 10 SB's? All of a sudden Sunday Ticket is not so attractive.

Romo has now hit 147 "Jims"

Luckiest team on the face of the earth.

Ray Ray dumb again

Spags made the adjustments, Shanahan hasn't.

Whatever worked for the niners they better do the opposite. I see your adjustment and raise you another.

Travis Swift looks frustrated

Yeah and Shanahan doesn't rotate them constantly like some hockey line. Play your best players....what a novel idea.

BADOL, I totally get where you're coming from and some of it I agree with. In a perfect world I'd like Josh to be a little more cerebral. I'd like Josh to take a page out of Tom or Peyton and study his profession a little more in the offseason. But what makes Allen elite are the things some of us want to change about him. Don't run as much, stay in the pocket, check it down,....etc..etc. That's not who he is or probably who he should be. Brady recognized this and stopped that low positive nonsense and let Josh be what's in his DNA. We don't know the true outcome of the 2nd & 9 play. Maybe Diggs drops the ball? Maybe Diggs gets the 1st down but we get stopped 3 plays later? Maybe the oline holds for a fraction of a second longer and Allen connects on a wide open Shakir. Life is littered with "what ifs".....but is there room for Josh to improve?.....absolutely!

This response is as close to the correct answer as your going to get. Alot of things factor in to going to a SB and winning one. Minimizing injuries is at the top of the list. We lost Tre, Von and Milano in consecutive years. Not to mention several additional supplemental players. The 2nd most important factor is luck. All it takes is one or two plays to go your way to make a difference. The 3rd is a combination of talent and strategic coaching. We had the talent to play in 4 straight SB's but Marv definitely got out coached by more elite guys. The exact same thing is now happening with McDermott. We ask so very much from Josh and he leaves his heart on the field every time, but he needs the "collective support" from his teammates and coaches. They can't expect 17 to just fly around like Superman while everyone else watches. Our team was good enough to beat the Rams, Eagles and Niners these last 3 years. But the greatest hurdle will always be Mahomes followed by Burrow.

I'm beginning to think that for every int. Josh throws, the media deducts 2 tds. Look at how many ints Terry Bradshaw and Eli Manning had in their careers. Farve had 336. Josh literally has one of the lowest career playoff int % of 1.1 in nfl history. This is the laziest and stupidest narratives going on in the NFL media right now. The media needs to grow up and do their homework. Josh has a respectable 2.5% career int ratio. There are literally 25 HOF qbs that had a higher int % than Josh. I guess they're all turnover machines too?

Off-Season Hot Take: Mid Season Struggles And The #1 Seed
LABILLBACKER replied to Bills!Win!'s topic in The Stadium Wall
I still see the value of the 1 seed to rest starters week 18 and again a week later for your bye. With all the injuries we had besides Milano, we really could've used it. Just stop under performing against teams we should've handled. Stop screwing around every year in the middle of the season. -
I'm also optimistic that Shorter & Hamler make the team. The 1st round wr replaces Gabe and the 4th rounder replaces Sherfield, Harty. Diggs will play next season but beyond that who knows?

What are your feelings on James Cook RB1
LABILLBACKER replied to BillMafia716ix's topic in The Stadium Wall
The only way Cook even sniffs the level of production Kamara achieved is by holding onto the damn ball. He's never going to be a power back who runs violently or breaks tackles. He's all finese. But if he can find focus & concentration, he most definitely can reach the accomplishments Alvin achieved. -
Completely agree. The number 1 qualifier is that 1 seed. After that you better have less than 10 ints or a qb rating well above 100. You could have 50 total tds and close to 5000 yards and it might not matter unless you hit those 3 qualifiers. Lamar won the mvp with only 29 tds and 3600 yards. Most years those are pedestrian numbers. But he minimized turnovers.

I'm fine with that. Just don't give up a ton of trade capital to trade up in the 1st. They'll be a very good wr fall to us @ 28. Get a 1T and FS in the 2nd & 3rd and turn around and grab another quality wr in the 4th.

Allen, the Super Bowl "window," and the KC hurdle
LABILLBACKER replied to T.E.'s topic in The Stadium Wall
If McD craps the bed a 6th straight time in the playoffs, I'm firing him immediately and putting Ben Johnson on speed dial. -
Allen, the Super Bowl "window," and the KC hurdle
LABILLBACKER replied to T.E.'s topic in The Stadium Wall
The last thing I ever want to see in my lifetime is Josh having the same fate as Marino. I'll probably never see an unbelievably athletic qb like him again. But for whatever reason the God's don't favor us. Mahomes just has to marry up with Andy like the Bill & Tom show. The AFC is absolutely loaded. Every fricken year injuries devastate us. Our coaching is incompetent. You can set your watch to our defense letting Josh down every January. There is most definitely a first window and it has closed. Now we have to sit back and be patient for new youth ( wrs, de, etc) to hopefully begin 17's 2nd window. Hopefully Sean won't be part of that era. -
Bills Draft Needs - From the Athletic
LABILLBACKER replied to GASabresIUFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Top priority is 2 WRS, 1T, FS....after these 4 players I don't care who they pick. A better punter & kicker can also be considered later. -
Just the way Sean likes em....

The niners don't stand a chance. Spags will make Purdy's life miserable. Kelce will push off like Gronk and always be open. KC's oline will be allowed to hold all day. Mahomes will scramble and make off script plays. And the extra $350 million dollars that the NFL has generated since Swift hooked up with Travis will be fulfilled. Mahomes will become the NFL's new Brady love child. And everyone else will just be chasing.
