We could afford him by simply clicking our heels together and hope Von gets suspended.

What is your level of patience on not advancing to the Super Bowl?
LABILLBACKER replied to Chaos's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm 65 and wanted his arse canned after 13 seconds of pure coaching idiocy. But clearly the majority of "partcipation trophy" fans of McD are content to win some reg. season games for the sheer entertainment. Go figure?....watching this team fail every year in the playoffs hardly screams entertainment. But if you set the bar low you'll never be disappointed. -
Allen needs to mentally overpower Mahomes

Maybe out of pity we can create a subspace on this board for rejected Chiefs fans like Zerovoltz, Billl and SaulGoodman. Go away you pure annoyances and slither back to your worthless kingdom. -
Final in depth Salary Cap update by the Cover 1 crew
LABILLBACKER replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think the easiest move to start with is to cut both Harty & Hines. It immediately saves 8.7M. It's not like punts and returns happen that often anyway. Nor did Dorsey or Brady incorporate them into the offense to begin with. Draft a wr in the 4th or beyond who can also return. -

This podcast was amazing and time well spent. Mooney was the other wr they mentioned and he would be the one I'd target. They're spot on regarding going after DQ first. Diggs is going nowhere nor should he. What happens to Tre will depend on how mentally ready he is to continue. Physically I think he will be fine come September. -
Bills should sign Blaine Gabbert as backup QB
LABILLBACKER replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
Bills should stop wasting $2.5M every year on guys like Trabisky or Allen and draft a 6th or 7th round developmental qb on a cheap 4 year deal. It's not like Josh is getting injured anyway. -
Final in depth Salary Cap update by the Cover 1 crew

Tre will be the trickiest decision the organization has to make this spring. You can't ignore what his leadership has meant to this team. The ACL takes 18 full months of recovery as we saw with Von. Recovery time for a Achilles is 8 months. The first thing McB has to do is see if Tre is mentally ready to continue. Beyond that who knows what happens? -

Great listen...obviously everyone agreed DQ is top priority on a 2/15 type deal. I'd cut both Hines & Harty and try and draft a wr with return abilities. Diggs will be a Bill for a minimum of 2 more years. Maybe even 3 based on the cap hit. Like to keep Floyd but I was very concerned how his last 8 games tailed off. You can re-sign Johnson, Jackson and Rapp cheap. Let AJE & Davis walk for the comp pick. I also agree to not ask Morse or Poyer for a paycut. These are leaders and important locker room guys who will be playing their last season. They spent alot of time on Tre and I think you roll the dice and let him play one last season. The recovery time on an Achilles is much shorter than his ACL. Would love Mooney or Zeke on a reasonable deal. I would also prefer Gilman over Chinn to pair with Poyer. -
I would be ecstatic with these first 5 picks.

How clutch was Josh in 2023? No other QB even came close
LABILLBACKER replied to DJB's topic in The Stadium Wall
Would I personally have liked to see him take the wide open pass to Diggs, yes. But he always has and always will be a gunslinger. I too would like to see him play a little more under control like Brady & Mahomes. But he saw an open player and his line couldn't hold another millisecond. You take the td when its there.....But in the end, my biggest beef with this team is the inability of his teammates & coaches to step up their game. -

LABILLBACKER replied to DJB's topic in The Stadium Wall
If Sherfield catches that ball we could've been spared. If Stef catches that perfect 60 yard pass we could've been spared. If James doesn't drop another easy td, we could've been spared. I won't even bring up the defense because you can never rely on them in the playoffs. This isn't on Josh. Never has been...never will be. -

Yeah I agree. I don't need to be convinced by anyone as to Josh's greatest. The ball is now in the court for his coaches & teammates. They're the problem. -

LABILLBACKER replied to Chaos's topic in The Stadium Wall
All the time? We haven't even had 1 in 60 years. If we're setting the bar low to lessen our pain that's one argument. I see so many recent fans drifting toward "let's just enjoy our regular season success". And there's nothing wrong with that. But not everyone is wired the same. The goal in any sport is a championship, not just it's participation. I voted 1 more year even though I wanted a change after 13 sec. I know McDermott has his diehard fans who are hanging on in the hope that he breaks through like Reid finally did 20 years later. I just can't wait anymore. I see more Schottenheimer or Lewis in Sean than I do the others that at least got to a SB. But the greater problem with this team is the lack of playoff energy, focus and motivation around Josh. When will his players step up and execute like he does? -

Yeah I'm done discussing how great Josh is. We all know he's an elite superstar. We also know he tries so hard to put this entire team on his back. It's officially time to put the rest of his teammates and coaches on notice. They must step up their game. His defense is garbage in the playoffs. His offensive teammates couldn't catch a ball to save their lives. The coaching has been inconsistent since the Houston game. Josh is one of the highest rated playoff qbs in history. When will his support system step? -
Well ya better prepare for us drafting 10 of these underwear jumpers.
-
I think we will have (20) 1 year windows with Josh.
-
Exactly, not winning a SB has absolutely nothing to do with point differential. We're capable of getting to the final 8 every year. We gotta find a formula to reduce injuries. We must find better ways to motivate the players around Josh come divisional time. And last but not least our coaches, starting with Sean, must step up their game in strategy and scheme. All 3 of these factors must converge or Josh will be running around playing Superman all by himself.

Per Yardbarker, Aiyuk may want out of SF
LABILLBACKER replied to BillsWest's topic in The Stadium Wall
This conversation is depressing. I'd much rather discuss the 5% chance Von gets suspended and we're off the hook with that ridiculous contract. This is why it's so critical we draft 2 promising wrs in April. -
Not a good idea. 1 td over 2 seasons and a 58% catch rate. Hard pass. Just give Elam one last season to salvage something.
-
He deserves all the down time he wants. I love golf and love that he's embraced it. He leaves his soul on the field every playoffs. Tell his teammates and coaches to step up their game and get in the lab.

Until today I've never heard of a shooting at an NFL championship parade. Pray for the victims.

We don't scheme anything for anyone.

WR or Dlineman? What would be your main priority..
LABILLBACKER replied to BillMafia716ix's topic in The Stadium Wall
Brian Thomas then grab Sweat in the 2nd round. It's kinda pointless anyway with our 20 player DL rotation that never gets home. I guess Dlineman are the only NFL players that require load management?
