  1. First I agree its paramount that we draft an early wr and another later. Davis is gone and Diggs could be gone in 2 years or less. Filling those holes this draft is vital. Shakir holds great promise. I see him more as an upgraded YAC slot guy to Beasley. Khalil will need to work on the things that made Cole special especially finding zone cavities. Having Shakir & Kincaid as a foundation is great. Shorter is still unknown?
  2. Trey Benson big RB just ran an impressive 4.39
  3. Yeah, we need speed. They can put muscle mass on later.
  4. So AJE and Groot are considered "hits" or "modest successes"? Have we really lowered the bar so low that 2 guys averaging 3.5 and 5.5 sacks/ yr are hits? Success stories? I need to see at least 9-10 sacks from these 2 before I'm anointing them hits. You know, that play where you actually tackle the qb before he can pass it. Pressures and hurries mean nothing if Mahomes/ Burrow are still able to get the ball out.
  5. I think Derrick's idea of a "chase a ring deal" will involve at least 10M/ yr. Just draft a cheap day 3 bruiser back as your RB3 behind Cook & Johnson.
  6. Saying something and actually acting on it are 2 different things.
  7. I'm cutting Harty immediately and giving Hines a well deserved "paycut" to 2M. Keep him one last year as your gadget/ return guy (assuming his knee is healed)? Mack's going to be too costly unless he's willing to play for Floyd type money. Still hope we look at Chinn & Mooney.
  8. Yup, between blizzards and worthless trips to London, I'm sure they're fed up.
  9. I'm confident Beane puts his foot down "somewhat" and demands a top wr. If one of Thomas/ Franklin make it to 28 you pounce. If he picks someone like Chop Robinson or Trice I'll lose it.
  10. One of these 2 must be the selection. It's like 1a/1b. Franklin will probably come in around 4.35 where Thomas will be around 4.45. Franklin has better short to intermediate route projection where Thomas is the slightly better hands and straight line 50/50 route guy. You might not go wrong with either but I can be convinced that Franklin's speed will prevail. Hopefully we don't have to trade up for either. Adonai Mitchell is more of an early 2nd round grab.
  11. Why ask for something McD or Beane are incapable of finding. At this point it's time to load up on wrs. We've had numerous failed opportunities to find an impact defensive player.
  12. Mel knows what Josh needs. Now if we could just convince the braintrust. Brian Thomas has to be the target. Even if we trade up a little like for Kincaid.
  13. I'm sure the family of that little girl might disagree.
  14. I completely agree. My fear is he has a great combine and maybe even a sub 4.4 time. This will probably put us out of range. Franklin would still be an excellent plan B. I'm not considering Mitchell till the 2nd round. We all know the primary positions of need for the first 4 selections (wr, dt, s, de). We just don't know the order? And another fear is Andy jumping us for whoever we target. He knows we're his biggest obstacle.
  15. It would be too expensive to trade up in the 17-20 range, but 21 and up I'd pull the trigger. You know Andy will absolutely go after one of these 2 guys.
  16. Right after Thomas on my rankings. I want to guarantee we get at least one 6-3/6-4 frame guy with some speed. Love Franklin but Thomas anywhere near 28 has to be grabbed.
  17. I want Thomas to do well but not too well. I don't want to settle for Mitchell or Legette. Sweat at 60 would be amazing.
  18. Oh right, that same top 10 McD defense that gets shredded every playoffs. Got it! Yeah, Tyrod was pretty dynamic that day against the Jags. My bad, I know better than to include the playoffs in any Bills discussion.
  19. Shaw....how many of these wins are attributed to Josh or Sean? We win because we have the best qb in Bills history. Not because we have an elite HC.
  20. Amen to you and Einstein. It's like there's this group of McDermott supporters who have absolutely convinced themselves all that matters is regular season accomplishments. Marvin Lewis and Marty Schottenheimer had SB ability too...until they didn't. You can't keep ignoring the playoff coaching mistakes and lack of adjustments at the risk of losing your McDermott allegiance.
  21. But Augie, I thought you didn't require a Super Bowl to be entertained? 🤔
  22. The play design of the fake punt was terrible. KC sniffed that out immediately. The problem with McDermott will never be his heart. Obviously he wanted Damar to have a moment. But the glaring problem is with his head. I'm still not confident McD gets this team to a championship. But it's out of my control. Maybe Josh rises up beyond the coaching flaws? Who knows?
  23. We're signing guys prematurely. We're extending guys before we see their full body of work. Bass and Knox are classic examples. The Chiefs are just flat out a more polished organization all around. Coaching, GM contracts, drafting etc. We're chasing this dynamic every year. We sign a Von Miller and he goes belly up. They sign Jones and of course he immediately turns into Aaron Donald. These things are not coincidental.
