100 Greatest Players in NFL History (2 x Bills so far)
Boatdrinks replied to BigDingus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Don’t care too much about these lists. They’re always top heavy with players from the last couple stat -inflated decades and the Pats* in particular. -
Week 7: Dolphins at Bills (-17)
Boatdrinks replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Perhaps it would, for a week. Then a win over the Eagles would bring it all back. The Bills should win this game, but it’s a week to week league and one win or loss won’t define the season on its own. The Pats* lost at Miami the last two seasons. No reason to lose, but they did. It didn’t matter one bit. -

No need to follow the conversation, you called the stat misleading. It isn’t. It’s exactly what it sounds like it is. My mistake on the 3rd down conversions. The stat the Bills offense ranked highly in was total first downs ( 8th) , not 3rd down conversions. They move the football well. You are massively oversimplifying the analysis to disregard it. The Bills issues are mostly on them, not anything their opponents have done. The sacks and INTs have been largely on Allen rather than exceptional play by the defense. He just needs to make better decisions and live to fight another down. You make it sound like the Bills offense is a hopeless mess, needing improvement in every area when the numbers bear out a different conclusion. They don’t have that far to go to bring that scoring total up. -

Turnovers and sacks are part of the reason for the low point total. 3rd down conversions are pretty good overall relative to the rest of the league, so you can discount that one. Fix the first two, combine it with your already strong red zone TD % and the problem should be fixed. There’s no lol about it. It’s just using stats to show where the problem lies. The Bills offense moves the ball well, but suffers from self inflicted wounds that lower scoring. That’s an easier fix than struggling to convert third downs, poor red zone TD % etc. -
Week 7: Dolphins at Bills (-17)

Again, not misleading. It’s one metric focused on a specific aspect of offense: scoring TDs when in the red zone. Not understanding what the metric is doesn’t make it misleading. Anyone who points to the metric as meaning anything but what it actually indicates would be wrong, but not mislead into doing so. Scoring TDs gets more difficult as the offense gets closer to the goal line as the defense doesn’t have much ground to cover. Hence the reason for the stat. It is what it is and nothing more. -

Not misleading at all, it’s exactly what it is. How often they score TDs when the offense is at the opposing 20 yard line and in. Who the heck thinks red zone percentage indicates anything else? -
TNF: KC @ Denver 8:20 ET on Fox and NFLN

Two AFCE teams. Can’t root for either, so I just root for them to beat the crap out of each other. Whatever happens happens, you don’t pull for a division rival unless it gives your team the division or puts them in the playoffs. Way too soon for that. -

if only someone would dislocate Brady’s kneecaps... -
I’d like to see Allen start making better plays vs the blitz. It’s not the be -all end -all, but it’s important and a good way to make teams think twice about blitzing. They will continue until you beat it, to be certain. The PFF rankings mean jack squat, good or bad.

The AFC is a dumpster fire this season
Boatdrinks replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They won there in the 92 playoffs divisional round, Frank Reich at QB. I honestly can’t think of another Bills win @ PIT. That game in December is not going to be easy. -
I agree, those runs he made last year would shorten his career. Defenders will take cheap shots, as we’ve already seen. A guy who is the master of the slide ( and sure seems to have eyes in the back of his helmet) , Russell Wilson, is about the only player that can truly get away with it.

Another Raider, OT Trent Brown, Domestic Violence Lawsuit

Yep. These guys need to realize in this “ woke” day and age, big money means women looking to take some of it for nothing. The whole # me too thing is out of hand. It needs a prefix. “ want a bunch of free money ? “ . Me too! Not the NFL but the story of the side chick of Matt Lauer is totally ridiculous. She got paid$$ and a book deal lol. Pretty much she was fine being the sidepiece, then got dumped and suddenly the whole relationship was “ rape”. Liberal judges and attorneys are a scourge on society. -
How has McDermott done with this team so far?
Boatdrinks replied to GreggTX's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
B+ right now. Could definitely be bumped up to an A or A+ at some point. Interesting to see how the Bills handle this next four game stretch now that they’ve had some success. It will have a big impact on their playoff positioning come week 17. Schedule is a little tougher from Thanksgiving on. -
Updated - RayRay Cut by the Panthers *Re-signed by Bills
Boatdrinks replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wow! Hope he never gets in a game, unless you like fumbles. Some guys never learn the proper way to hold onto the ball. Hope he “ gets it” at some point, but not encouraged. -
Oh, I agree it would be disappointing to most fans. I said it might be likely though. All it would take is for the Bills to drop a game that they are probably favored in. This happens to many NFL teams over the course of a season. 4-2 would obviously have them in great shape and looks to be achievable. 6-0 would probably surprise even the most ardent homers , except perhaps the OP.

Ugh , 3 former Parry crew members. Expect myriad offensive holding calls vs Bills and maybe a roughing the passer or two. Old habits die hard... -

Interesting. I’ve never once thought that about Lofton, I love his analysis and always find his comments interesting . He’s a well spoken guy, I’ve also never heard the type of commentary you describe from him, but perhaps I missed it. Your quote sounds an awful lot like Phil Simms. So glad he’s no longer in the booth.
