  1. Ah, bummer. Great player for many years here and a future ring of famer. Hope he and Watson tear it up!
  2. I think it's a little bit of both, not one of the other. You should get guys that fit your long term model, but elite talent transcends scheme. Ex. it's not about choosing between the next OBJ (explosive YAC and deep routes) or the next Michael Thomas ("box out" possession receiver). You take either one, or both!
  3. Yeah, sounds easy. We need to stop acting like free agency and the draft are a grocery store, where there's always stock of every item you need. The talent pool is scarce, and there are plenty of hungry teams.
  4. There is plenty of value in an explosive running game, but we're not seeing it with Shady and Ivory. You want to pound the rock, fine. Get an offensive line that can dominate the LOS and some explosive RBs.
  5. I think back to an article written about Jauron years ago. As many of us remember, "I'll look at the tape" was one of his favorite responses. The author asked this question at the end of the article: "What if the tape doesn't give you any answers?"
  6. It could work, but this assumes that we are dominating the LOS and have explosive RBs that can take over a game. Neither is happening right now. Elite RBs are pretty cheap. You could have two superb backs for under the cost of one elite WR.
  7. I'm saying that if "the process" relied on a 35 year old psychopath guard, and an oft injured 32 year old center, that's foolish. Yes, as goes Allen, so goes the offense. I've been pretty disappointed in his pure passing ability. Hope that changes. There will always be holes, that is unavoidable, but we should be strong in key positions. In 2018, that starts with a QB and top tier playmakers at RB, TE or WR. We're terrible in those areas.
  8. "The process" shouldn't have relied on two 30+ year old interior linemen, one of whom has well known "issues". I wonder what the grand plan is. Are all these moves going to lead to a consistent top 10 offense that can score 25+ a game? I just don't see it. To make that leap, we're going to be relying on several players that aren't even on the team or in the NFL. Think about that, it's scary! Firing Beane isn't the solution, but I've never believed that you need to bottom out to improve. You are playing with fire when you shed lots of proven talent and are banking on some home run drafts to save your ass.
  9. The team is banking on Allen being that X factor on offense. Without him developing into a top tier QB, the outlook is terrifying.
  10. Assuming we are heading to a top 5 pick, the CBS big board shows all top 5 prospects as defensive players. Let's hope there is a QB who is worthy of that high of a pick so we can have a chance at a trade down. Nobody is going to be moving into the top 5 for a DT or CB.
  11. Barkley is on pace for 2000 yards from scrimmage. He looks as good as advertised. NYG may have an Eli problem, but they have two elite playmakers that will be a big help to the new QB.
  12. The Patriots model has been tried many times. Nobody has come close. It simply can't be replicated unless you have Belichick and Brady. I've always like the Seattle model. Competition at all positions, front office and coach in lockstep, a simple defensive scheme that relies on defenders winning 1-1, franchise QB who can make plays with his legs and arm. Outside of terrible offensive line play, I think it's a great model for an organization.
  13. I love the comments trying to explain away his production. It's silly, just stop. He has 26 TDs (28 total!) in 8 games. He is a cheat code. Enjoy it and don't take it for granted. You will wait a long time to see a QB come in and dominate the way Mahomes has. He's always going to be the one that got away. Oh well, c'est la vie. At least we have our 3 QBs with 3 passing TDs on the year.
  14. Same - love it. It's kind of glitchy, but otherwise, they nailed it.
  15. Red Rocks. Of course, he's got some wear and tear, but it was a great show. He played nearly 3 hours.
  16. As I mentioned earlier, Stapleton's voice is incredible. "Either Way" was hauntingly beautiful. I'm having a hard time thinking of any artist I've seen live that came close to his pure vocal chops, although James Taylor was close. He's pretty chill live, doesn't move around much, doesn't seem to get fired up, but that may be just be his personality. Red Rocks is as good as it gets acoustically, which plays a factor, but my wife saw him in Nashville 2 months later and said it was pretty damn good too
  17. I know what you're saying, since Chris' tracks aren't particularly unique and he's a bore on stage, but his voice is phenomenal. I do wonder why the machine picked him to be their token "good ol' boy", as they've typically wanted nothing to do with that style of country. We saw him at Red Rocks last year and it was a top 3 show in my book.
  18. Chad should have stuck with the good, old fashioned, flower. He wouldn't have left the couch. The synthetic weed really screws you up!
