  1. Would be shocked if Jones did not make the squad. I echo the thought that he'll make it, whether it be as WR2, WR3, WR4, or what. I don't mind the committee approach. I think, regardless of what an ideal WR group might look like, that Benjamin/Jones/Kerley/Holmes can be an effective corps.
  2. I think it'll be around 18-19 ppg.
  3. Thank you for not making the thread title: "Josh Allen to START getting some 1st team reps"
  4. Levi Wallace I don't see Foster taking a spot from Holmes, Clay, Streater, Proehl, or McCloud.
  5. How far can he throw a dumbbell? Kidding aside, I would love to see him regain his form before last year. It would not be ideal, but I could at least live with that version of Miller, last year's Ducasse, and the best man who wins between Bodine and Groy between them.
  6. I remember watching this and yes - so very Billsy.
  7. Too bad he and McDermott missed each other by a couple years in Philadelphia. Andy Reid started him his whole rookie season, which must count for some amount of points in McDermott's book.
  8. Man, I know Allen is supposed to have great size, but Peterman looks way bigger in the pictures...
  9. They are both prototypical QBs with accuracy issues.
  10. I think there is a distinction to be made between "elite QB talent" and "elite arm talent". I think neither Allen nor Manuel were considered "elite QB talent", but that "elite arm talent" is considered a trait held by Allen. I can get behind a Testaverde floor for sure.
  11. I cannot say that I have anything to back up an argument that their play styles are similar. I am not sure Allen has shown he can command a room of NFL players. That's not to say he can't, I'm just not sure what would support that thought. I think he could, too, but I just have nothing to base that on either way. By production, Manuel should be considered a better prospect. He put up way better numbers against way tougher competition. I agree that QB comparisons aren't especially helpful, but they do happen and are fairly unavoidable, especially as fans of a franchise that has a a lot of success at drafting the wrong QBs. I think so, too. I also still think they are comparable prospects.
  12. I agree. It's understandable and reasonable to be nervous regarding their similarities, just as it is not so understandable and pretty unreasonable to declare Allen a bust because of those same similarities. I do think he will be better than Manuel, but that doesn't mean they aren't similar, ya know?
  13. This article could very well have described the Jets' boneheaded non-move of staying at #6, watching someone else pay the price to get up to #3 and/or #4 and/or #5, thus preventing the Jets from getting their guy. Yeah, the price was steep, but no one will care if Darnold lights up the league.
  14. Does Kyle Williams get the boot for the same reason?
  15. Less lazy version: "Comparing Josh Allen to EJ Manuel is such a superficial, lazy comparison because ______________________________________.
  16. Prototypical QB who can run if needed, has accuracy issues, is a hard worker, and is a really nice guy we can all pull for. I'm not saying they're the same prospect. Allen obviously has far more potential and upside. But they share similarities.
  17. I am optimistic and will support him as the Bills QB. Still, the positives being reported on Allen are eerily similar to those reported about Manuel, so it is understandable if a Bills fan is cautious.
  18. IF there is competent QB and OL play, then an NFL offense can most definitely produce with McCoy, Cadet, Clay, O'Leary, Benjamin, Jones, Kerley, and Holmes, among others, regularly catching passes. I am actually optimistic to see how Daboll and his NE* background go about utilizing the Proehl and McCloud waterbug slot types. Pick plays, anyone? (As an aside, I just imagined a 3 & 8 conversion where Allen hits one of those smaller guys with a bullet at about 6 yards deep into the route and the ball velocity drives them past the 1st down marker. I can dream.)
  19. Johnson over Flutie. Maybin over Orakpo was pretty bad. I didn't have any clue how infuriated I would later become, but I do remember being disappointed when we traded up in the 3rd round for Russell Wilson TJ Graham. I liked Wilson as a QB prospect that year. Swapping a Jim Schwartz defense for a Rex Ryan defense. Honestly my gut reaction when it happened was that I did not like the Allen pick at all because Rosen was available. I've been doing my usual self-convincing and will support the kid, but it's how I felt for sure.
  20. Bills Daily Retweeted Arizona Cardinals ✔@AZCardinals Replying to @buffalobills Fun to Josh around on the weekend, eh?
  21. Certainly cannot count that out as a possibility. Fortunately, they drafted a smaller HB in the later rounds to help do some of the things Kamara does.
  22. And for the Kamara fantasy owners, like me, there was much rejoicing.
  23. While not an obvious choice, I think the 49ers would be interesting, although I agree probably not as interesting as the Browns. Still, you have a younger QB with his first full offseason leading his team. (Unfortunately, his looks probably would entice a certain portion of the potential audience to tune in.) Seeing Shanahan as a young, innovative coach would be interesting. McKinnon taking over as lead back. Richard Sherman and Rueben Foster have to be draws, too.
  24. Yep, the article I posted above indicates that only these teams would have to accept Hard Knocks: » 49ers » Broncos » Browns » Chargers » Ravens » Redskins
