  1. If the Shady story has legs, then he'll obviously hire thugs to take a few bats to those legs. Obviously.
  2. Or he can just defend himself and get any potential claims dismissed if it is false. And then counterclaim. And I bet get attorneys' fees.
  3. I think it'll be Benjamin, Jones, Kerley, Holmes, Streater, McCloud, and Proehl. I also think it's not that bad of a group. Could it be better? Obviously, but I think Benjamin can be an average-to-good WR1, and although I cannot say Jones is a bona fide WR2, I'm not sure we need one, and I think in Jones, Kerley, Holmes, and Streater, we have four average-to-good WR3-4s. This offense can still run efficiently with a WR-by-committee approach and a strong supporting running attack. Whoever the QB ends up being, he can get to 4,000 yards with Benjamin getting 1,000, and C. Clay and Kerley getting 600 apiece, and McCoy and Jones getting 400 apiece, and Ivory, Cadet, O'Leary, Holmes, Streater, McCloud, and Proehl combining for 1,000. That's not outside the realm of possibility at all. Plus, just on size match-up alone, Benjamin, Jones, Holmes, and Streater make for a fairly daunting red zone crew. I honestly think the offensive line and quarterback play have a higher chance of holding us back this year.
  4. Bring it on down to Allentown!
  5. I think they'll consider keeping 7. My guess is Benjamin, Jones, Kerley, Holmes, Streater, McCloud, and Proehl.
  6. Watkins' production will obviously be Mahomes-dependent, but I think Reid will know exactly how to use him - screens, reverses, quick slants, etc., in addition to the deep threat.
  7. Would be shocked if Jones did not make the squad. I echo the thought that he'll make it, whether it be as WR2, WR3, WR4, or what. I don't mind the committee approach. I think, regardless of what an ideal WR group might look like, that Benjamin/Jones/Kerley/Holmes can be an effective corps.
  8. I think it'll be around 18-19 ppg.
  9. Thank you for not making the thread title: "Josh Allen to START getting some 1st team reps"
  10. Levi Wallace I don't see Foster taking a spot from Holmes, Clay, Streater, Proehl, or McCloud.
  11. How far can he throw a dumbbell? Kidding aside, I would love to see him regain his form before last year. It would not be ideal, but I could at least live with that version of Miller, last year's Ducasse, and the best man who wins between Bodine and Groy between them.
  12. I remember watching this and yes - so very Billsy.
  13. Too bad he and McDermott missed each other by a couple years in Philadelphia. Andy Reid started him his whole rookie season, which must count for some amount of points in McDermott's book.
  14. Man, I know Allen is supposed to have great size, but Peterman looks way bigger in the pictures...
  15. They are both prototypical QBs with accuracy issues.
  16. I think there is a distinction to be made between "elite QB talent" and "elite arm talent". I think neither Allen nor Manuel were considered "elite QB talent", but that "elite arm talent" is considered a trait held by Allen. I can get behind a Testaverde floor for sure.
  17. I cannot say that I have anything to back up an argument that their play styles are similar. I am not sure Allen has shown he can command a room of NFL players. That's not to say he can't, I'm just not sure what would support that thought. I think he could, too, but I just have nothing to base that on either way. By production, Manuel should be considered a better prospect. He put up way better numbers against way tougher competition. I agree that QB comparisons aren't especially helpful, but they do happen and are fairly unavoidable, especially as fans of a franchise that has a a lot of success at drafting the wrong QBs. I think so, too. I also still think they are comparable prospects.
  18. I agree. It's understandable and reasonable to be nervous regarding their similarities, just as it is not so understandable and pretty unreasonable to declare Allen a bust because of those same similarities. I do think he will be better than Manuel, but that doesn't mean they aren't similar, ya know?
  19. This article could very well have described the Jets' boneheaded non-move of staying at #6, watching someone else pay the price to get up to #3 and/or #4 and/or #5, thus preventing the Jets from getting their guy. Yeah, the price was steep, but no one will care if Darnold lights up the league.
  20. Does Kyle Williams get the boot for the same reason?
  21. Less lazy version: "Comparing Josh Allen to EJ Manuel is such a superficial, lazy comparison because ______________________________________.
  22. Prototypical QB who can run if needed, has accuracy issues, is a hard worker, and is a really nice guy we can all pull for. I'm not saying they're the same prospect. Allen obviously has far more potential and upside. But they share similarities.
  23. I am optimistic and will support him as the Bills QB. Still, the positives being reported on Allen are eerily similar to those reported about Manuel, so it is understandable if a Bills fan is cautious.
