  1. I am so grateful for this team. I'm 48 years old, so I lived through the super bowl years and the ensuing drought. I could handle that because hey you always had the super bowl years to point back to. But my kids had ***** nothing for their entire lives until recently. This season meant the world to them and I'm so happy to share this year with them. And there's more to come of course.
  2. I lived through four lost super bowls, like many others here. They all sucked, but I was young and didn't fully appreciate what we were doing at the time. I do now. This loss hurts, no question. But KC was favored for a reason -- they're the best team in the NFL. There's no shame in losing here, just like KC should not have felt ashamed if this game had gone the other way. We earned our way into the playoffs and beat two good teams to get here. This is a young team with a great staff and FO. We're primed for continued success. Off-season priorities for me: figure out a way to cover TEs. I don't know what that means personnel-wise or scheme-wise, but make it happen. I don't want to get torched by Kelce and Gesike next year. Second, we need a RB. I love Motor as a change of pace back, but it's obvious that he's not the answer at that position and it's also obvious that the Bills staff don't like this unit overall. We don't need Derrick Henry, just somebody reliable.
  3. I just want to get to the super bowl and I don't care who we play. I guess I'd prefer Tampa since they're a weaker team than GB, but a super bowl win that caps off wins over Baltimore, Kansas City, and Green Bay would be mighty impressive -- that's arguably the best three teams in the league besides us.
  4. It's too early for "Who is better: Allen or Kelly?" We can start having that conversation in another five or so years. For now, let's just be happy that we have a QB who's performing at an MVP level in his third year. Canton will still be there later.
  5. I will always remember that game as Thurman's signature game. Not his best performance statistically, but he absolutely dominated that game.
  6. I know people will groan at this, but if we're looking for "that single play that all by itself changed the trajectory of the franchise" then Dalton-to-Boyd has to be right up there with Johnson's pick six. Snapping a 17-year playoff drought was more significant that any play that occurred in the previous 17 years.
  7. Yep. If you had told me before the game that Allen would barely crack 200 total yards and be held to a single TD, I would have assumed that we lost and probably lost pretty badly. Instead we won by two touchdowns. Our defense won us that game, and that's fine with me.
  8. I know what you're trying to say, but the fact is that Allen is going to bring his A+ game this weekend. This game has all the trappings of a classic track meet.
  9. I think this is a little harsh. I'm extremely happy that Daboll is (probably) coming back next year. Is that "celebrating his misfortune?" I don't see it that way. He's a key member of a coaching staff that is doing a lot of things well at the moment, and it makes sense that fans would want to see this staff stay together for a little longer. When he eventually lands a head coaching gig, I'll wish him well. Nothing wrong with wanting to see your team's staff remain intact.
  10. Under the scenario the way you laid it out, I'll take the 10-15 years of double-digit wins but no championship. I've enjoyed this season a lot -- winning a bunch of games and making a playoff run is fun. I did not enjoy the drought -- being irrelevant by week 6 is not fun. If it you shortened the post-championship refractory period to something more like 4-5 years, then I'd take the championship.
  11. I'm not too fond of Tom Brady. Anybody here feel the same way?
  12. Remember when Hughes was good for a 15 yard penalty pretty much every game? Guy is money since the Rex era.
  13. The guy's not wrong. It was a very rough night for PKs, and we saw quite a few passes get away from all three QBs. No need to get all defensive about it.
  14. The Ravens are a legitimately good team that are a lot better than a typical 5-seed. Their QB is reigning MVP for at least a few more weeks. Sorry, but if it bothers you that some prognosticators are picking them over us, you're going to have to grow a thicker skin. The Bills are going to be playing a lot of big games against tough opponents in the coming years -- they won't all go our way. It won't matter who picked who when we win on the field.
  15. Same here. Allen played well, and he was the reason we won the game. But Saturday's performance was kind of so-so relative to the supernatural performance we've grown accustomed to this season. It's nice to see a comparison to the other QBs that played this week, even if we all know that the passer rating is a flawed metric. Good to put things in perspective.
  16. -4.5 and 65% sounds about right to me. The Bills are a better team that the Ravens. They're not a wildly better team than the Ravens.
  17. I too grew weary of Allen leading us to one playoff loss after another. First there was the Houston game. Then, well, I'm sure there were probably a bunch of others. I can't be expected to remember every Bills playoff appearance. The important thing is that he finally got us a win.
  18. I still think 95 South had the better version, but I don't want start a fight with all my fellow Gen Xers so I'll let it go.
  19. Bills beat PIT next week. Titans beat KC next week. Titans come to Buffalo for the AFCCG.
  20. Did they really have to show the Music City Miracle? Can't they let us enjoy our afternoon?
  21. I'm all for "letting them play" but I don't think you can ever call OPI if you're not going to call it there. That wasn't borderline.
