  1. Cleveland too IMO. I'm sure they'd like to do the 2018 draft over again, but Mayfield is a guy they can win with and they have a good team built around him.
  2. That's awfully pessimistic. If the INT doesn't happen, worst case scenario is a tie game heading into the fourth. And besides, since when do we apologize for one of our guys punishing a mistake by the opposing QB? Do our mistakes not count? Why hand-waive away the good plays?
  3. 1. Allen 2a.Bledsoe 2b.Flutie 4. Fitz I refuse to consider any of the others.
  4. If this guy becomes a genuine stud on the DL, look out. Between him and Milano and Tre, those could be three extremely strong guys to anchor the defense for a long time.
  5. Unfortunately I have to agree with this. I mean, obviously the D-line is playing extremely well as a unit right now, so the results are definitely there. But we invested an absolutely massive amount of draft capital at these positions, and it feels like our "hit rate" is lower than it really should be. Nobody on our line is a stud right now. I'm kind of optimistic about Rousseau, but we sunk a lot of premium picks into the D-line with not a lot of star power.
  6. That's not a catch IMO. Should be incomplete.
  7. Going for two is slightly +EV. It should be the standard play unless you're late in the game and really need the one point.
  8. Hold on a second. Why are we regretting passing on Watson again?
  9. I didn't know much about McDermott when the Bills hired him. And frankly, I was just numb to the ongoing dysfunction at that point, so I just resigned myself to another guy who might achieve 7-9 on his way to our every-three-or-four-year housecleaning. I changed my mind in a hurry during the 2017 season. So happy I was wrong about this guy.
  10. I like Lamar a lot, but there is absolutely no way I would trade Allen for him straight up. No way. Realistically I agree that he's likely to get a contract similar to Allen's. That's too much IMO and I'll be happy if the Ravens overspend at the position.
  11. At this point in Josh's career, he had already won a road game as a double-digit underdog and given the fan base an all-time highlight play. Call we when Wilson does something. Positive I mean.
  12. This is one area where I'm in favor of the modern NFL. Farting on a guy should at least be unsportsmanlike conduct.
  13. The last time the offense played well was against the Colts in the playoffs. They struggled against the Ravens (elite), Chiefs (elite) and Steelers (elite). The Dolphins are not elite. Bills win easy.
  14. Allen obviously didn't have a good game, but I'm not seeing him as being anything close to the problem on Sunday. The Steelers were getting consistent pressure, often right up the middle, with just 3-4 rushers and they did a good job of keeping him in the pocket instead of rolling out where he could improvise. There is no quarterback in the NFL who would look good under those conditions, including Mahomes in the super bowl last year. Combine that with some questionable (at best) playcalling, and here we are. I really think the issues on offense this weekend were about 90% on the offensive line and about 10% on Daboll. The reason why I place so little weight on Daboll is because we still would have won the game probably by multiple scores if our linemen had just been able to keep the Steelers' DL under control. Good blocking covers up all sorts of shaky play calls.
  15. I thought New England and Miami both looked not even remotely threatening yesterday. If the Bills lose to Miami, I agree that it will be time for a modestly-sized freak-out, but I really don't expect that to happen.
  16. This was pretty much how I saw it. There were quite a few plays where the Pittsburgh receiver managed to come down with the ball despite extremely good coverage. That or they drew a flag. I lost count of the number of those plays that allowed a drive to continue -- I'm sure it was only just a few, but they were critical and led directly to points, and they were also kind of flukey. I can't say that I'm concerned at all about the defense after yesterdays game, except maybe for CB2 but that's not why we lost.
  17. I understand that this team isn't really built around its TEs (obviously), and it's not as if we had any problem scoring points last year with Knox and Lee freaking Smith at the position. But man Hollister certainly looked like a serviceable, low-end starter to me during the preseason, somebody who would make for really nice depth behind Knox and maybe push him for snaps. I don't get letting him walk.
  18. Hey guys, has anybody mentioned the possibility that maybe we'll re-sign Hollister after moving some other player to IR? Surprised that hasn't occurred to anybody yet.
  19. I think Johnson is maybe worth a little more than a sixth round pick. Like a fifth. This is fine though. We were going to have to cut an NFL-caliber DE. Getting something for one of them is a positive. Good on Beane for adding a lottery pick for next year's roster.
  20. One would assume so. I'm pissed at these guys, and I'm a fan who likes both of them and wishes them well. Players who are depending on them for a potential championship campaign have got to be a little more than just irritated.
