  1. It's odd because on NFLN they were saying that Houston and not Watson leaked the trade request. I don't understand what this gets them, but if it's an issue with Watson and the owner this could go the Palmer route. They could end up poisoning themselves like Jacksonville if they alienate a respected guy.
  2. This is very optimistic IMO. We need a replacement for Star and maybe 2 DEs. Those guys aren't getting any younger and production was horrible. Ideally I'd like them to draft a true MLB and move Edmunds outside, but it's not going to happen. We looked like the Big 10 playing SEC speed against the Chiefs.
  3. I would argue that Yeldon is a solid #2, Moss really hasn't shown that yet. He isn't the bruiser they marketed and lacks the speed to be a real evasive guy at the NFL level. Cody Ford is really slow out of his stance and seems to lack power. I don't think he should be on the field, but definitely not at LG.
  4. McD should learn to scheme for what he has. They poured money into the Dline to get rotational players who can play multiple positions, and it's not great. Oliver is playing out of position a bunch, but they have a top end safety tandem, top 5 corner, highly drafted MLB and DT, so maybe it's not the talent. They are so passive in coverage and the Dline doesn't get home, good coaches adjust.
  5. More likely Shaq and Lorax. We got gashed in the middle easily last year too, but at least someone set an edge. The discipline to stay in lanes, stay with assignments, not commit dumb penalties, etc is just awful.
  6. I would really be happy with a more athletic Lee. I think if you look at the types of guys Notre Dame produces it might be in that mold. They really block well and can catch, but they aren't asked to be wide outs as much as the spread offenses. I wish that Michael Mayer wasn't a freshman, but still the mold is out there. I'd also take a flyer on their RB to chip on pass plays or to show our guys how to.
  7. With a first half Fitz and their new found play, maybe. I think they gave up that chance when they pulled Fitz. Wild Card maybe, but their offense didn't exactly carry them this last game.
  8. They can and they do throw flags for this. There is a whole other defender taking his legs out and in 2020 thats a flag more often than not. I'm not arguing that I agree that it should be a penalty, but this is what football is now. They just don't seem to enforce it against everyone. Defenseless receiver or the fact that he got hit in the head. Again though, I'm not saying it wasn't a good play, just that in todays NFL that gets called a lot.
  9. If the NFL was a place where physical plays happen in the secondary, I would totally agree. Unfortunately players are almost always flagged for hitting too hard now. Add in the fact that there was contact to the head and I'm just surprised. His hand being in there and being at the right height was amazing though.
  10. The hand was in there legally to break up the play, but they still made a lot of contact with the receivers head. I've seen it get called for a lot less. Two weeks in a row though and the Steelers get questionable calls at the end of the 4th to seal it. Ravens should've had at least 5 more seconds there or at least a flag for the player down behind the line if they won't add time.
  11. Olive is out of position. It's not really a regression, but they have him in the worst place he could be.
  12. Milano looked like he couldn't wait to get out of Cams way and Tre is a shell of himself. Last year they were much better, but right now they are no better than the rest of the defense.
  13. I mean the refs screwed them on time at the end and could've easily flagged the last play. I'm not sure this game was one to point to.
  14. He clearly isn't. Last year he got one before they really even got to contact. There is something about him that makes him get concussions at a higher level, and he is really putting his long term health at risk.
  15. It's more than a year imho. Both lines need to be built again and they need to do something about the linebackers. They've invested a lot of capital, but they aren't really getting any younger. It's going to be tough to shore up holes and find people to play in this defense. I just don't think the coaching is there to go toe to toe with the KC and Pittsburgh type teams that they will have to beat.
  16. Milano didn't even get a chance to whiff. It looked like he got out of the way. He is real suspect in the open field.
  17. Peterman 2 picks and 150yds rushing
  18. I'd fear Peterman against this defense.
  19. Gabe Davis is a monster, but the other selections aren't as great right now. Allen looked good to start the year and dropped off, Edmunds looks like he has promise but is regressing, and Singletary has flashes. Outside of those guys can you name a real quality player since 2018? Oliver is out of position and I think he can be a stud, but Knox, Ford, Epenesa who can't get on the field, Johnson, Neal, and for some reason got rid of Wyatt Teller. It's really not looking like a build through the draft scenario honestly.
  20. 1st Team All American Forrest Gump..put some respect on his name
  21. I actually really appreciate Edmunds as a tackler. He wraps when he tackles and I don't see him bounce off as often as a lot of the NFL. Rugby style tackling might not be as flashy, but it sure works better than some of the ***** you see out there.
  22. I didn't say get rid of him, just get him away from holding. The guy has blown holds since he has been here. He should've improved by now and he isn't even doing the basics right. Missed kicks blow games (I'm not saying yesterday but in general), and he has a big part to do with that. Just take him off holding. Did I say cut? Mitigate is the key term.
  23. Everyone always says they "can improve", but how much are you willing to lose before they do? If they ever do. He has contributed to quite a few missed kicks at this point, just but the backup QB out there and mitigate the risk.
  24. Idk when it was made, but I guess not. In my opinion the Rams are a bad team. They have 4 wins and those are all against the NFC East, the worst division in football. Oakland was a good win though.
