I always thought the “next year’s pick” was overly discounted by some and applies mostly when you have a regime who is less secure in their standing so they need to win now. I like future picks if you get them discounted. I mean, you end up using them!

EDIT: I worked with a guy who went to UGA and went back to Athens, GA to be in his buddies wedding. The groom got a DUI going 2-3 blocks from the reception to the hotel. I have no plans being in Atlanta, but it was pretty darn cool when it came closer to us a few years ago. I didn’t do anything special then, other than meet up with most of my neighbors in the road. It was like a block party! VERY cool. My sister used to date a lifeguard who had scuba gear. He’d sneak into the ponds on the nice courses and scavenge for balls to resell. He said he liked the country clubs because nobody was splashing range balls into the ponds. 😂

People forget, this is April before the draft, and we don’t play football until September. Beane opened that door with “we’re probably not better today”, and some media folks jumped on that (Cowherd being one). They skip the part where “we still have a lot of work to do”. I’ll wait and see.

I believe Shakir finished the season (last 8-10 games?) with a few more yards than Diggs. The thing that really jumps out is that Shakir did it on 38 targets, while Diggs had 80 targets.
