So, you don’t like the idea of giving away one of our most impactful players on the team for a bag of used balls? He’s a fit for our scheme, and he’s coming off significant injury reducing his trade value. I’d rather let him get healthy and help us win games.

I’ll take Jon Rahm. 🤷‍♂️ Walking that course a few years ago on a Thursday was surreal. I recently saw they play the women’s amateur tournament there or something (no sound in a bar for lunch). THAT would be the way I’d like to see that course, with fewer people. Yeah, it was cool when Tiger walked past with the crowd and energy, but the magic is in the golf course. Television does not begin to convey the extreme topography. It’s much more than tricky greens.

I’m sorry, I understand. That is why each year is unique, and they say this one is rich and deep. Having said that, there will probably be just more swinging and more missing than usual. It’s definitely a crap shoot. .

I realize it’s bigger to me than most people, but it still bothers me. A team that doesn’t play overseas does not lose that home game, and one game can decide if you make the playoffs and where you have to play. That’s why teams fight tooth and nail to get a good seed in the playoffs, HOME FIELD. It is admittedly less of an issue with more games, but it is still inherently unfair IMO. Not that anyone cares.

But technically it’s a home game for one team, right? Like the Bills were the home team when we played in London last year in front of the fan base the NFL and the Jags had been cultivating since 2013. Home games take place in your own stadium in front of your own fans. Period.

Are they going to take up the good field and put down a crap field for the NFL players, again? Will there be any “jet lag experiments”? I don’t resent the Billionaires for their wealth, but when they compromise the game in the interest of more money, I have a problem.

Unlike you, sir, he is a man of magnificent taste and he loved his pizza. I’ll try to do some kind of tour next time back. We came to the home opener a couple years ago directly from a wedding in Chicago. The architectural boat tour in Chicago was VERY cool and I’d highly recommend it!

We have a neighbor who is a well known architect. He was at our place helping us and noticed all the Bills stuff in the basement. He said his wife was going for a beach trip with her friends, but he’s not a big beach lover. Instead he was going to Buffalo for a tour of WNY architecture. This guy could go anywhere and do anything, and this was a dream trip for him. The next day he sends me a pic of wings and beer from WNY. I remind him he’s got to try the pizza, and 30 seconds later I get the pic of his pizza. His architecture tour turned into a food and architecture tour. If you live there it’s easy to take for granted.

It might be 10-15 years ago now, but an old friend drove me from a game back to my hotel and he took me by the old Rockpile entrance. It was just the gates, but they made such an impression on me as a kid it was emotional to see them again.

I like the new car and country club comparisons. I decided to pay because it’s worth it to me. I think that’s pretty simple. Country clubs can be even more expensive than PSL’s and you can’t always just walk away. You might have to be paying dues indefinitely until someone will buy it, which brings me back around to timeshares, but that’s another topic.

I’m certainly not arguing, but hold your thumb and forefinger 2.25” apart and imagine how that makes such a huge difference. I know it’s a real thing, but when I look at it that way it’s kind of amazing.

Somewhere, probably in this thread, there is a clip with Mark Schlereth giving J Bettis credit for something like “if everywhere you go, it smells like S%$t, maybe it’s you.” He liked the Bills being rid of him, so of course we love Schlereth today. 😋 I think he actually liked the Texans only having one year of him to make him try, but that makes it a fairly rich price (a top 50 pick?) for a WR for one year. .
