  1. We have DTV Streaming and it hasn’t worked for most of this week since we had to change the AT&T password. I get just a few channels on DTV Dish, but fortunately that includes ABC and NFLN. NOBODY is helpful. My wife has spent way too many hours on it this week and we even hired a tech guy who couldn’t make it work, either. My wife has been practicing her dirty words. Maybe we can get it worked out by tonight? And yes, I did clear out the cache of cookies and browser history as I read that may be an issue. I miss simpler times.
  2. Bill Belichick draft nuggets are much like what my dogs leave in the backyard.
  3. I’d rather spend a 2nd and a 4th looking for a cheaper alternative. We have to get younger and cheaper.
  4. ….as far as he can recall. He’s not proud of it, on multiple levels. 😋 But it got him off the hook. Being in a draft room is probably my greatest sports bucket list item. That would be fascinating to see the real deal.
  5. I don’t know how all the points work out and all that stuff, but it makes me feel a little better that the Viking’s 2nd rounder shouldn’t be that much lower than the 1st we’d lose. I hate giving up the future, but that would take some of the sting out of it.
  6. This is exactly why we hoard all of those 6th and 7th rounders. 🤷‍♂️ .
  7. We took our grandson to NYC last summer and took him to a cool indoor amusement park/museum place. He loved the Disney style rides, as we all did, but I don’t think he appreciated the set of the Honeymooners as much as I did. 😂 He knew the sofa from the coffee shop in Friends, however.
  8. Cheers meant Taco Night, a treat in our house! 🌮 🍺
  9. EJ and Josh have one thing in common, neither one of them knows how to slide. 😋
  10. We won’t have any draft picks until he’s on his second contract. 😋
  11. Regardless, I hope they ALL get drafted before #28 so somebody has to fall. 😋
  12. Picking the right young (and cheap) WR out of college is looking better and better.
  13. Partners exist all over the league, it’s just not worth my time to track down how many teams have how many partners. You hear about celebrity ownership all the time. Tom Brady is about to become a part owner. Private equity may be the future, investors are now and have been for a while. https://www.sandiegouniontribune.com/sdut-fbn-dolphins-estefans-062509-2009jun25-story.html .
  14. Investors are far more common than I realized. The “owner” is only required to control 30% but can start sharing slowly with family after a period of ownership. The inheritance taxes are a critical reason owners had to find a solution, otherwise they’d be forced out of control. They are even considering letting private equity join the party to give some liquidity to minority investors and provide flexibility for the principal owner. This is a great article, if a bit long. It mentions the Bills specifically. In it they point out inheritance tax on a few hundred million dollar asset is one thing, a 5 BILLION dollar asset is something else. This is a complex world few of us can begin to imagine. Taxation and liquidity. https://www.crainsnewyork.com/sports-recreation/nfl-owners-face-huge-real-estate-taxes-keep-teams-family .
  15. Much better to be headed than beheaded!
  16. Did I hear a celebratory beer??? 🍺 I don’t “study” any of these guys, but I think I should watch a little more of Odunze. .
  17. Many people here seem to think wealthy people, especially the uber wealthy, are inherently evil for some reason. I would suggest that in general it’s not a good idea to be judging people you have never even been in a room with……. Even if you think they are “hoarding” wealth.
  18. Please define “a moral person.” BTW - “hoarding” has a negative connotation which kind of gives you away. Is Bill Gates “moral”? He’s using his wealth to try to fix the world, while he encourages others to do the same. Is he a moral person, in your eyes?
  19. I wonder how many teams are owned 100% by a single person/family and how many have investors. I think investors are a fairly common thing, and they have nothing but the best legal and financial advisors. This isn’t like us buying a vacation home with my sister-in-law. You can do your billionaire buddy a favor by letting him inside.
  20. My sister-in-law lives in NE PA and ran into someone in Bills gear. Apparently that person IS on TBD and apparently knew of me. No mention was made of him having me on “Ignore”, so that’s good I guess. 🤷‍♂️ .
  21. I just got home from my “bookstore”, a/k/a Costco where I picked up a couple easy reads, a Baldacci and whoever wrote this one for Patterson. My wife is still trying to finish The Art of Racing In The Rain. I liked that one, but she just doesn’t have much time.
  22. I’m the cautious type who avoids riff-raff as much as possible. 😋 I was thinking of hosting a game last season, but then the season got ugly, and many fans followed suit. Maybe early next season, before they ruin our collective mood.
  23. At 83, if anybody catches it you get points in my book. Make it happen FAST so you don’t get vaporized. You HAD to go there??? 😂
