Ours was “street legal” with headlights, blinkers, seatbelts, etc. I never wore a seatbelt by any means, but I was in Florida and everything was as flat as a pool table. If you hit a bump at a good speed, you’d better hold on.

Yes, the exact wording leaves open the possibility of something more, like if a witness appeared or something. Let’s hope that’s not the case. It’s horrible, but I pray it was just a freak accident. For all we know, he might have had a preexisting condition and was a walking time bomb. That’s just craziness out of left field, but we don’t know what we don’t know.

I’m more questions than answers. So were they on the course? On a cart path? What did he hit his head on? Or at the club, or leaving the club? I’m sure it’s much swankier than where we lived, but it was pretty high end and you’d see 4 seaters on the course in the evenings. You just know the rangers have a routine, and only for a little while, and you keep your distance. It’s often the easiest way to get home from the club or a friend's. The worst they’re going to do is politely ask you to exit the course. EDIT: I’ve never seen one used by golfers, either. I thought they had just come from a party. .

Do we know for sure it was the golf course’s cart? There were a bunch of 4 seaters around our course all the time. People would bring their own up to the club to eat……..or for drinks.

Do we know if it was a 2 seater cart with a place for bags on the back? Or a 4 seater, with 2 more seats in the back? That’s what we had and we loved it. I don’t know enough about what happened to have an opinion, but this is just a terrible tragedy. A broken wrist would have taught this lesson.

We had a 4 seater for riding around with a cooler, so I rented carts in our neighborhood. My first time on the course I made a tactical error, like skiing and black diamonds are the only option ahead of you. I was alone in the cart and almost tipped the damn thing over on its side when the terrain surprised me. I was holding on for dear life! 😂 My son’s friends “borrowed” carts on a few occasions, and at least one maintenance cart wound up in a lake. Oops! My wife played snitch in that one.

That’s easy to have happen, but you’d hope the guy would just hurt his wrist or something. I don’t know what happened, but it feels like some freaky bad luck is involved. So sad, but stuff happens. I just hope it wasn’t because of stupidity.

Our old neighborhood in Florida does a HUGE Halloween event, and people often traveled around in golf carts, either borrowed from the club or their own personal carts. One kid ran over another kid and broke his leg. New rule: You had to have a license or be of a certain age. Our son wasn’t old enough, but we pointed out how serious it was, then told him he can still use it. Be responsible, which he is, and we will take our chances. There was a firm rule that he was the only one allowed to drive the cart, as most kids that age really are idiots. So my son is driving around with a couple friends (it was a 4 passenger cart, not for golf) and one kid knocks my son’s hat off. He stops the cart to go back for his hat, and the kid jumps into the drivers seat and takes off. He’s looking back at by son laughing as he races away…..straight into an oak tree causing about $500 damage to the cart. Fortunately, nobody was badly hurt. It’s VERY easy to have something serious go wrong, especially if kids or alcohol are involved. What a horrible tragedy.

For us it will be just me and the wife on Christmas Day. The son and his family will be in Florida with the in-laws, and it will be just the two of us here. I’d be happy for something to take my mind off of the fact that we are just sitting around alone on Christmas Day. Last year the wife was fighting the urge to go upstairs and work on Christmas afternoon. She’s now retired, and I’d like to be able to enjoy the game with her. She can wear her “I Married Into This” Bills T-shirt.

My wife recently got an BIG feeder from a retail place in Greenville, SC that does nothing but birds. She also got a hanger that can clamp on the railing of our deck, but it didn’t quite fit. I found it in the bushes below on the second day. Our next door neighbor has a full shop in his basement. My recently retired wife ran into Mike in the street, and within 30 minutes we had a pressure treated perch for the feeder we (she, who am I kidding?) can prime and paint. I’m just hoping it doesn’t lead to rodents.

I didn’t take it that way at all. He was talking to the radio clowns who had imperfect track records themselves and make a living by stirring up sh!t on the Bills. He really IS smarter about football than they are, and I understand that. He didn’t in any way say anything demeaning Bills fans imo.

You see now, I might have signed up for that as a T-shirt. Maybe even a hoodie. It’s great that we are all different, or things would be far too boring.

Well, I guess I’d better not suggest anything else. That happened to me in Little League with a crazy coach! My father wouldn’t stand up for me, so I quit football. I signed up for baseball, and I’ll be damned if the same guy didn’t coach there too, and he drafted me again. I was not super special, I think he just liked to torment me. 😂 EDIT: Not every kid needs a grown man to get in his face and scream at him and thump him on his earhole as a 5th grader. Please just tell me what you want. Wouldn’t that be easier? .

That explains a lot. Do you still hear the ringing? That might be important.

That’s actually very funny. My son could have played college football or soccer. He played neither in college, but they played everything growing up. We didn’t let them play football until HS. While football was my favorite sport, I was always worried about injuries. It was a well founded fear, as he tore his ACL and MCL in Spring ball then got a nasty stinger as a senior. The stinger caused him to go to an orthopedic guy a decade later. That’s saying nothing about the ice baths on Friday nights. I can’t imagine the wear and tear on a body after a decade in the NFL. Oh, and soccer was my favorite sport as a parent. Basketball is everyone screaming at the refs, baseball and weightlifting will kill you with boredom, and football was the fear of injury for the QB who was the offense on almost every play. The soccer parents were very close and some became great friends. .

Doesn’t this just make you crave seeing some actual football??? They just keep toying with us! The schedule comes out in a couple weeks, and I’m already looking forward to it. As much as I dislike some aspects of the league’s decisions, I must admit they are absolute masters of keeping our attention. Now they are going to steal Christmas from the NBA with 3 NFL games. They know how to stay front and center, and with that comes more $$$$$. It’s a MasterClass.

Like the Bengals, you can’t just pay everybody without consequences. …..and it’s a beautiful thing.

Ahh, shades of Louisville basketball back in the day.

My wife is from Rock Hill, SC (right cross the border and home to several NFL players), and she has a ton of family in Charlotte. I spent a week every summer for almost a decade in Chapel Hill taking the kids to UNC basketball camps. It’s a great area, no doubt. But the real entertainment here is the idea of Bill Belichick groveling for the services of some 17 year old kid. I wonder is his GF helps him with recruiting?

Be glad she doesn’t have (grand)daddy issues.
