  1. Umm, that sounds like a hitch….
  2. A tie? Short of that, we have the tie break with the Ravens.
  3. I’m no stranger here, but I think he still has a cracked ashtray I have my sights on.
  4. Sadly, I’m sure that is the school. Portables are all the rage, and there are fun gambling games regarding where they will end up after the next hurricane. Also, why is he playing against a middle school?
  5. Do you enjoy the occasional wager, good sir? Merely for entertainment purposes, of course.
  6. You just wait! We aim for shock and awe, with a hint of despair. Not everyone is born with this skill set, but a few decades of Bills fandom can do incredible things!
  7. Forget the fumble, I think we should remove the pressure of an undefeated season RIGHT NOW! Think of how liberating that would feel!!!
  8. I bet the programming people are not thrilled.
  9. My absolute favorite tennis was the World Team Tennis stuff with loud music, a lot of beer, a lot of laughs and great tennis. The raucous setting adds all the energy in tennis, imo. Hell, I’d rather PLAY there too, but I guess we did that with nobody watching. Our club in Sarasota had phones (before everyone had a cell) at each court to order pitchers of beer from the pub upstairs looking over the courts. Those were the days!
  10. I’m glad I also have football as an option today.
  11. Did he mention a 5 foot tall bunny with empathetic eyes?
  12. It looks like we need to be prepared for a lot on no huddle against the Saints. Get ready! They are the 2nd highest at 29.4% no huddle, so it will be a different pace. (Washington is a whopping 60%!) .
  13. I had to look it up, and was surprised that Kamara is “only” 30. It just feels like he’s been around forever.
  14. Oh, this brings back a memory of sitting around the dining table in Hamburg when the season tickets arrived. I was the youngest of three, and my older sister by 8 years insisted on going to the Raiders game. They were the hot ticket, and I got shouted down. I may wait until 2am to call and say hello, how are things, and do you remember that game?
  15. That’s south of there I think, but not immediate to the other stuff. That’s not a place I’d be recommending, but my knowledge is limited to one trip there maybe 30 years ago. We’ve lived here full time and gone downtown regularly for 15 years now and don’t even know if it still exists or where I’d look for it. If it’s there, it’s easy to avoid. EDIT: If you see the Underground Atlanta name and think it sounds familiar, I would advise looking into it a bit first. You don’t want to go to what it used to be. .
  16. It’s not something I would have done on my own, but I took a friend who was in town and interested. It was actually better than I expected, and at the end they have a taste testing thing with countless Coke flavors, many of which are not available to us here. That was pretty cool. Anything Coke related in ATL is a big deal. The World of Coke is right by the Aquarium. Aquariums are something I generally avoid, but that was another pleasant surprise. The Atlanta History Center is not downtown (it’s just north in the heart of Buckhead) and that was much more interesting than I expected. I didn’t realize Lincoln was not going to get the party nomination for reelection until Sherman took Atlanta, stopped the train supplies to Confederate troops and the powers that be said why pick a guy to settle this thing, we could actually win it! EDIT: Our son was able to get an interview to interview with a top guy at Coke for an internship one year in college. The guy he interviewed with basically said “don’t get your hope up, we are a global company, and our interns reflect that. Last year our department had about a dozen interns, and only one was a white male from the US,” Interesting. Our son also said that everybody working there looked miserable, but I’m sure that was just a first impression. (Maybe.) . .
  17. It’s not in a bad part of the city. It’s by the convention center, World of Coke, CNN Center, State Farm Arena, the Georgia Aquarium (which is surprisingly cool), College Football HOF, etc. You don’t want to wander too far off (especially to the south) if you don’t know here you are going, but it’s not like the Braves old stadium in the heart of the ‘hood. I think people will feel quite safe around the stadium, especially on a game day. Odd side note, on my way to my grocery store (just over one mile) I can look right and see the Falcon’s dome downtown, or look left and see The Battery where the Braves play. If you are looking to kill some time in Atlanta and want to see a cool mixed use development that works, check out The Battery. https://batteryatl.com In addition to the Braves stadium, there are restaurants, huge bars with all kinds of entertainment, several hotels and theaters, apartments, offices, etc. It’s even better when the Braves are not playing because it’s less crowded. .
  18. Well, nothing is perfect, I suppose.
  19. Chik Fil A is an Atlanta company and being closed for a few Sunday Falcons games is no big deal. They don’t need the revenue from Sunday stadium sales, it’s almost like a highway billboard that gets awareness with no directly attributed sales. The stadium does SO MUCH more than the Falcons. If you don’t live here you probably wouldn’t realize. here is what a quick search found. AI Overview Mercedes-Benz Stadium hosts 40–50 major events and approximately 250 private events per year, in addition to its regular schedule of Atlanta Falcons (NFL) and Atlanta United (MLS) games. A full event schedule is available on the official Mercedes-Benz Stadium website, showcasing concerts, major sporting events like college football championships and the Peach Bowl, and more. Atlanta United FC alone plays 17 home games there every year. All kinds on national college football games are played there as well, in addition to stuff you’d never dream of. .
  20. That’s only if you can get to the front of the line. I gave up a couple times a few years ago, I wasn’t willing to miss football over a cheap hot dog. Hopefully they have worked about the kinks (and the wait wasn’t planned). The energy there for soccer is amazing. Much better than for the Falcons from my experience. Every now and then a see a decal or a hat that reminds me this is the home of the Falcons and not just College Football HQ.
  21. That’s really something to be proud of….or she was just a skank. Congrats. I remember you bragging about that.
  22. I love the energy of being at the games live, but it is a better viewing experience at home. That could be improved, if the NFL cared about the people in the seats.
  23. Suzy Kolber had no idea what she was missing out on. Live and learn, girl.
