  1. Happy Birthday to you!
  2. He could be Tremaine’s father, for goodness sakes!
  3. Golic & Golic (or whatever it’s called) just had an interview with Notah Begay that was pretty entertaining. They wanted to know how far the New York hecklers could go, and were told it’s a giant gray area, so we will see. They got my interest for sure. .
  4. The original title was When The Levee Funds Are Diverted, but it just wasn’t catchy enough. Yes, I’m afraid it was too soon, but I’ve probably locked in my next destination by now.
  5. Somehow, somebody had better views closer to the action. I’m sure it was still delayed, but at least they knew ho had the ball! It was a crazy game to this little kid. Good memories.
  6. His agent explained it was just a bad connection. He’d like one more shot at a commission.
  7. You just pause the game in the stadium for a few seconds and let the radio catch up. Duh. I thought everyone knew that. I remember listening to transistor radios at the Rockpile. Some times (like a Bengals game I remember) the radio was the only way to know what was going on because it was snowing so hard. We couldn’t see a thing in the whiteout at times!
  8. I thought the same thing, until I considered how irrelevant the Cowboys have been for several decades on the football field, yet they are the highest valued team. It’s a lot of different factors.
  9. Tell the truth, you’re going to hit him up for a loan, aren’t you? Happy BDay, young man. Be wise with your money. That tidbit is my gift to you.
  10. Jim Leonhard was 5’8” and played a decade in the NFL as a DB because he was smart and he could process better than the guys who were exceptional athletes. Measurables are easier to judge than processing speed and heart. You need the proper blend.
  11. How about you be their new HC at $10 MIL/YR? That guy hasn’t won anything in forever. You have a good record here, I’m sure you’d nail that job. Let me know if you need references, I will be your greatest admirer.
  12. I’m only talking about very long kicks, which don’t even have to be made to earn points.
  13. It would affect ST because you’d want to have a guy back there to prevent that generally (I think?), but what does that open you up to? I think of that as a CFL Power Play if they put a man back to avoid that point. Do they have an empty net play as well? Maybe put a Safety in snow shoes? We do that sometimes! I kid, I love our neighbors living in our attic. Kathleen Madigan does a very funny bit on that. I seem to recall the Chiefs used to put a super tall guy who could really jump back at the goalposts on long FGAs. Anyone else remember that?
  14. Even if he doesn’t become a huge contributor this year, it sure would be nice for him to get some experience at full speed with live bullets this season. The injury was a bummer, but that stuff happens. The more play he can get this year, the more it will help prepare him for next year. If he can be a big help this year, I’ll think of that as icing on the cake. Not to mention, if we were a drought era team starting roles would be much easier to come by. It’s not easy to make an immediate mark on a Super Bowl favorite team.
  15. I’m not willing to go there 3 games into their first season. I don’t know how they will turn out, but I do know that now is too soon to decide. .
  16. If we are going by the Good QB Count, they may need to consider contraction.
  17. I’m not wasting time getting bogged down in semantics regarding how you personally define “cheating”, but it’s not even inadvertent like a false start. The rules were intentionally violated and you can be penalized for that.
  18. If you violate the rules, it’s cheating and subject to penalty. It’s quite simple, and that goes across sports. That just how that works. You may see some things as more egregious than others, but cheating is cheating and the penalty associated with it reflects how ”serious” it is. This penalty was actually called (on our opponent) when I was in 5th grade playing little league. That’s a strangely vivid memory. If it’s against the rules, I have to expect that you might have a flag thrown in your honor.
  19. This is going to be a serious bummer for those who invested heavily in pink slips.
  20. I think this is the answer, and I’m a bit surprised by the numbers. A PS guy in the NFL makes a lot more than a typical CFL player. AI Overview An NFL practice squad is significantly more lucrative than playing in the CFL ; even a practice squad player with no prior NFL experience will earn a minimum of $13,000 per week, totaling $234,000 for the 18-week season, whereas the average CFL salary is around $110,000 CAD for the entire season. A CFL salary can range from about $30,000 CAD for a rookie to potentially $250,000 CAD for a star player, but this pales in comparison to NFL practice squad earnings.
  21. I know there are some, but I’m really surprised we don’t see more guys getting signed from the CFL.
  22. I did not know that, so it’s worth repeating. For better or worse, I have spoken with people from this board I’ve never met, and they needed something better than me in the wee hours of the morning. If you think you might need help, that might get you pointed in the right direction. .
  23. Yes, we are currently big fans, and we’d like a free one week trial. Next week? Not so sure yet. We’ll have to wait and see. 🤷‍♂️ It’s a combination of good coaching and more investment in the OLine. It takes both, but we have both. Now they are working on the other side of the line, and the offseason investment does not feel like what we’ve done in the past. They want to win the LOS on both sides of the ball. Win the LOS and have a good QB and you can go a long way. .
  24. I certainly hope not. He’s a guy who is really good at playing football. He also seems to be a really good person, but that’s nothing to be star struck over. If he’s at a table at a restaurant, I would hope people would just leave him alone. I’d be disappointed there, of course. Being rich is the good part of being rich and famous. We’ve known some famous people, and going out in public becomes a problem.
  25. But are they really falling for it? We have BILLS FANS siding with Tom Brady above.
