  1. OK, this is what I was going to write, based on your post count...because it seemed like you have been here a long time: C'mon man! You were here before and after. I'm not saying that it is ALL BBMB, but this place is different since then. It has gotten better, but you have to see some difference. THEN, I checked your profile. Joined March 7, 2017...the day BBMB went down!!! A little sensitive about the BBMB thing? On a positive note, you are killing it on the post count. I have a lot of respect for your dedication. I mean that sincerely. Were you here before with a different username? Because I guarantee that the general consensus among TSW vets is that things changed. It's ok. Things always change in life. But, I don't have to pretend that things didn't change, nor will I pretend that the quality of threads has improved.
  2. I don't think that we are in the Whaley era any more...I don't trust ANY of the information that is shared by Buffalo brass at this point (which is a good thing!). IMHO, they only share information to manipulate the market...not to cover their mistakes like Whaley/Russ were prone to do.
  3. I agree with you, but it is a little ironic that Scott had to cite you for a poor subject! It just hasn't been the same since that other board went down. I'm not even 40 and I'm pining for the good ole days!
  4. That might endanger his knee...singing on the other hand...
  5. If you properly discount a pick by 1 round per year of deferral, they only gave up 2275 points to move up to a slot worth 2600 on the Walter Football chart. That is placing the picks at the 8th spot in the round (based on where Philly was drafting in 2016). I would gladly make that trade! To put it in perspective, our two First rounders (12,22), plus the third from CLE (65), and a the fourth (121) gets you to 2297 on the chart. I'm not saying that gets us to #2, but we won't have to go "Mike Ditka" to get the guy we want either. Throw in a 2nd and I think we'd have a good long conversation with the Giants. If the Browns go QB at 1 and our guy is still there, I think we could wait to deal with IND at 3, because the Giants will run to the podium to select Barkley.
  6. I'd like to thank Tyrod! It was due to autographs from TT and Cogs that my middle son became a Bills fan. Now we are a house united! It's been a blast watching him as our starter. Best of luck to TT wherever his career takes him (unless that happens to be NE*****).
  7. McDermott was in the same building as Newton...not exactly everyone's favorite personality...I wonder how that impacts his opinion.
  8. I was so glad to see that we only gave a 1 year deal to the Toldozer. He had a good career, but he's definitely over the hill. Hopefully Ivory has a couple more years of tread on the tires.
  9. Yep, I agree...Especially when you consider the guys we could lose in FA - Gaines, Brown, etc. Those guys should be "higher" value in the comp pick equation. I don't think you should take inferior talent in order to get comp picks, but if you are comparing apples to apples, go with the signing that facilitates comp picks.
  10. I agree that they failed to draft a good RB, although they tried repeatedly. Plan B didn't result in the type of movement we are so familiar with today. On another note, I think Marino's legacy is part of why the NFL has changed rules to favor the QB/WR. I think the big wigs so disliked the thought of a great QB like Marino only making it once, they changed the rules to favor the QB. Anyway...back to our QB conundrum...I hope we make a move. The league favors a team with a good qb.
  11. Free agency didn't exist back then. In fact, the Dolphins were the first team to really benefit from changes in free agency when Keith Byars and Keith Jackson were both released from contracts with the Eagles via legal action and found their way onto the Dolphins. Players just didn't move around that freely in the '80s.
  12. If you are grabbing a guy in the top of the second, I'd push hard to get him at 32...There are no 5th year options on 2nd rounders, but if you are getting a QB at 33-36, you might as well spend a little more to get up to 32.
  13. ...and then they stank up the joint for years. I think teams have learned from NO and the Picks Wash splurged on RG3.
  14. That is exactly what I was thinking. How many highlight-reel touchdowns are thrown without a defender within a country mile of the WR? That's why evaluating QB play at the college level is so difficult. Gotta say that I don't like the idea of the 15 yard penalty. Just imagine how aggressive the Seahawks or similar teams would be with that type of arrangement.
  15. I think it is more likely a sign that we will not make a massive offer to EJ Gaines. We are in really good position to make a decent offer to a decent CB when we enter negotiations.
  16. Don't we have Kyle Williams for that role?
  17. I think you are thinking of Flutie. Kelly played in the USFL.
  18. When I read the title, I thought of Gus Frerotte first - especially when he celebrated that touchdown run by headbutting the wall in Washington. That would be a fun celebration routine or a trademark victory maneuver. Now, as for Mitch...gotta agree wholeheartedly. The man was made for the ring.
  19. It is interesting that the first and last games of the 2017 season looked a lot alike on that side of the ball. Aggressive offense beat a mediocre Pats* defense. I enjoyed it, but I would be shocked if Belli doesn't make some adjustments to the roster for next season. I would anticipate several defensive draft picks and a sixth round G who becomes an All Pro tackle by the end of the 2018
  20. There is difference between making a false report to authorities and being a dope on sports talk radio!
  21. "There is a report on Facebook..." OK, we're finished here. Seriously, I'd give up both 1st round picks plus a player to get Jimmy G, but it isn't happening. The '9ers played this perfectly. They got to kick the tires on Jimmy and now they will pay him, just like they would have to pay Kirk Cousins.
  22. I said questionable, not wrong. I watched those SB's too. That would be another strong argument for Roger Craig - three rings.
  23. Did Gore retire? Stats make it look like AP should have a couple years ago.
