  1. we're on the same page. I think the reason why Craig isn't in is because he didn't have the same longevity that leads to HOF stats. It's another reason why T. Davis was a questionable selection.
  2. I was just comparing Faulk's stats...He did it four years in a row. Craig did it, but had down years in between. Another comparison: our own Thurman Thomas He had only 2 seasons over 2000 yards from scrimmage, but he racked up a bunch more in the 1500-1750 range. He also had 50% more rushing yards over his career (12,000 vs 8000). Craig's numbers are impressive, but they start to fade a little when compared to other legitimate HOFers.
  3. Not the only...Marshall Faulk in St.Louis did it as part of the greatest show on turf. Maybe others...? He definitely redefined the position and was crucial to Bill Walsh's vision for the WCO. His stats are really up and down. He had a couple years of 2000+ yards from scrimmage, but the rest of the time he was kind of middling. HOVG based on stats, but possibly a serious HOF candidate when you consider rings and innovation.
  4. Before you call someone lame, you might want to consider the platform from which they speak. SDS just happens to be the platform for the forum on which you are commenting. Now might be a good time to delete your account and start over.
  5. Even before the PI, there was the play when the guy was tackled in bounds (or at least it appeared that way), but the clock was stopped. Calls like that make a big difference.
  6. That's exactly what I thought about the play - avoid DPI or Defenseless Receiver. If either of those are called (esp DPI), then the vikings are kicking for the win again.
  7. This bodes well for McD - he doesn't wait to deal with his mistakes.
  8. He's gotta be worth Jimmy G. type picks. I think we'd be moving on to NE today and I think we'd give NE some trouble with Alex Smith at the helm.
  9. Both go? Probably not...but I don't think TT is going to be around unless he renegotiates again. I think the Bills will go with Peterman, a first round pick, and a veteran mentor.
  10. Unfortunately, I don't think we will have the cap room to land Cousins without jeopardizing the rest of the roster. We have a lot of dead cap from moves this year. Doesn't that put us in a tight spot this offseason?
  11. I love your list. Dawkins is really an unsung hero on the line. How many times has he gotten to the next level and destroyed someone. I love watching him finish his block to the whistle, even 20 yards downfield. He's got some nasty that I've never seen from Glenn. Not knocking Glenn, just saying I like the kid.
  12. Absolutely. My sons have never seen a Bills playoff game (16,14,8). We've rarely had multiple picks to build with. We appear to have a coach and GM worth having. This is a tremendous season for lots of reasons.
  13. They still threw fish on the ice.
  14. The delay of game on the punt was pure genius...Did you see how they got an extra 20+seconds off the clock by surrendering the 5 yards? If the clock was still running, they could have bled it to single digits before kicking. Since the clock was stopped, there was too much time for the Dolphins to get a FG attempt if Hauschka missed. I would have loved the points, but I understood why they didn't try it.
  15. Ah, yes...AltaVista. That was my favorite for awhile.
  16. Allen looked decent in the first quarter of the game today! I didn't catch it live and I've only been able to see the first quarter so far. Pretty impressive!
  17. I've got three sons 8, 14, 16 who are all committed fans.
  18. I think Kevin Harlan is the son Marv Albert wished he had. Sorry Kenny. Actually, I don't like listening to Kenny Albert, I only like Marv when the Bulls are playing the Knicks in the Garden, and I don't really like Kevin Harlan that much! But, I know that's just a matter of taste. I honestly would prefer to watch most games with less play by play (almost none) and more color. I cannot tolerate Fouts. He's so out of touch. He's the complete opposite of Romo.
  19. I was not questioning his perspective on how the season would turn out. I was questioning what he asserted about my opinion at the beginning of the season. That is why I said he might be capable of writing a revisionist history of my life.
  20. I always like these late-season, practice-squad raids. It's like opening up a Christmas present. It's hard to tell what is inside, even if you can tell a little bit about the contents before you open it, but you're never really sure how much you'll like it. On the other hand, it might end up trashed before February.
  21. Good, now I know who I can hire to write a revisionist life history for myself if I ever become famous!
  22. I guess I'll never hire him to play blackjack for me...I think he's learning on the job. Since we weren't planning on immediate success with roster turn-over, it looks like he's the one playing with house money!
