  1. Let's go out into the media and stir things up. Let's get Guinness into town to measure how loud the crowd will be. Let's proclaim our "bully-ness" and be full of bull and bluster!
  2. The only thing that is this weird is when the Patriots and Seahawks played each other twice in 1993, despite being in different divisions. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/nwe/1993.htm
  3. Smerlas calling the Bob Matthews show! OUCH!!! I love how Matthews is the ultimate wet blanket on controversy.
  4. I saw the McD quote from the presser re: discipline, but I also saw a lot Shaq on the field yesterday. Must not be too serious. Should blow over.
  5. I guess my taste is weird and I'd listen to Boats' drunk aunt call a game! Have to agree on Miller.
  6. She was, but I guess it is a matter of taste. I'm not really keen on McDonough. Perhaps her performance was amplified in my thinking due to my distaste for Rex!
  7. I preferred Beth Mowins from the start. Mowins and Gruden would be a decent tandem.
  8. A face best suited for radio and a voice made for print?
  9. I'm warming up to his potential. I think NFL fns have been spoiled by some surprising rookie performances which have skewed expectations. I remember being disappointed by Eric Moulds until he exploded toward the end of his first contract. Hopefully we don't wait 3 years for Zay. It's looking encouraging at this point.
  10. Ouch! Wait, I thought decision making was the red flag for him!
  11. I would agree - good mix. It also looked like the tactics and execution were better. There is nothing worse than a slot corner blitz that gets "blocked" by the DE who gets in the way with his own pass rush. This is one aspect of Pettine/Rex which was impressive. They seemed to coach those techniques well. Other areas (tackling), not so much!
  12. I didn't say they were. I said that I'd trade team celebrations for rings. I didn't say that we should ban celebrations so we can get rings. Strange and illogical reply?
  13. I agree...gotta see more than one year to assess a coach. I would also apply that to Dennison. Can he grow out of his conservatism? Can he adapt his system and develop the QB position? If not, then I think you need to make a change.
  14. Don't you have to make a big play for a team celebration! I guess Darth Hoodie can set his own rules due to success. I'd be glad to trade celebrations for rings any day.
  15. Yup - fails the location test by epic proportions. Nice place, wrong place. Gotta think that most of that grew up around it more recently.
  16. Before last week, what would you pick? Who has a better chance at a win against the Ravens? Packers w/o Rodgers or Texans w/o Watson
  17. I think that having KB lined up with Zay will open some things up. You can play some games moving the safety with KB. Zay appears to be settling into his stride. I'm optimistic about their passing game moving forward, but NEVER against the Hoodie.
  18. 1. Forgot about that in the euphoria of Tre'D's pick. 2. Yep - nice to see. 3. Yes, Yes, Yes! 4. I think they'd have more ability with KB in the lineup. When you can back up and hit a slant pretty consistently, then teams have to make adjustments. I think they'll get there soon. Clay made some good plays today. 5. Hopefully we can get healthy and get going better on offense. 6. Gotta agree. Dennison and his run game coordinator need to step up! 7. Gotta agree that next Sunday doesn't look too promising. AND GO BILLS!!!! How many "fake" wins do the great teams get every year. I'm happy to be capable of beating a slumping team. In the past, we've caved under such "pressure."
  19. I agree, but that is part of the QBs job in an NFL these days. TT just has a unique ability. Other guys accomplish with a quick release or slight movement in the pocket. Roethlisberger just stands there like a statue and guys bounce off!
  20. Obviously, the right move, obviously. Guess they are really investing in analytics down there!
  21. We also forced Alex Smith to play a certain type of football. We did to KC what everyone has been doing to us. Stop the run. Force throws. Make short tackles. Big concern for next week: TB>Smith That type of gameplan against NE will result in 400 yds passing and 5 touchdowns.
