I actually think Peterman may result in better effectiveness for Tolbert. The biggest problem for Tolbert is when he has to go up against 8-9 man box. If he is in the hole against one player, he can bowl them over. If he hits the hole with guys wrapping his ankles, he's doomed. To keep him clean into the line, they need to back the safeties and backers off. That's where Peterman comes in...

[closed]Why the rush to Peterman this week......
dulles replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think #4 might be the biggest reason...We might need more than Trent Dilfer behind center to make the playoffs this year. Let's see if we have something in the kid. -
That's the spirit...good of you to get in line with the negativity around here!

Dolphins' LB Rey Maualuga Waived After His Arrest

The mental image I had based on this comment was that of Dolphins swirling as the water in my toilet quickly disappeared down the drain. -

Thanks, you too. I don't deal with touchy subjects online very often for that reason. -
Jerry Jones racially insensitive remark video

I'm not outraged. If you met me and we talked politics, you'd get to know that I'm very conservative and this type of thing doesn't trip my trigger. I think the apology is PLENTY. I would suspect the NFL/Goodell may have some interest in the timing of this report. At the very least, it is very helpful to waging the "civil war" which ESPN is reporting between Jerry and Goodell. We most likely differ on what is "racist" and what is not. When I say something is racist, I don't believe that means Jones deserves the death sentence. I actually think that we are more likely to deal with real prejudice if we are more likely to recognize the subtle forms which show up in our lives. To me, this seems to be a subtle form of prejudice. As for "get the guy in trouble" I should have chosen better words. I meant it in a joking, facetious way. I think this is the type of thing that should go away quickly. I just don't think that it goes away quickly by denying the subtly, prejudiced tone of his comment. I think it should go away quickly by apologizing and demonstrating change over time. The problem is our society doesn't like to give time for people to demonstrate change. By extension, our media feed on this and demand punitive action at every turn. -
I'm curious in regards to Tyrod's skill set
dulles replied to SinatraSinger's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think this is a pretty accurate assessment. He is system/coach dependent. Our system/coach don't mesh. He'll be around the NFL for a lot longer. In addition, he's a high character guy. He works hard, studies hard, etc. I would be SHOCKED if he is divisive in the locker room the rest of the way this year. That is the perfect career backup. -
Nathan Peterman to Start this Week.

TB* had big question marks about his arm strength during his early years. Arm strength is something that can be increased. Anticipation, smarts, toughness are harder to change. -
It was a TANK season all along - - get it !!!

At least schizo-tank is good for media ratings and some ticket sales! -
What's your reaction if Peterman is terrible this Sunday
dulles replied to Steptide's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, that was fun! Full tank, now. -
Great quotes...thanks for the transcription. In other words, TT is a casualty of opportunity costs. He is municipal bonds when the Dow is skyrocketing.

Are we able to get anything for Tyrod?
dulles replied to The Tomcat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We'll have less than $9million in dead money. Not bad for a former starting QB. -
I think we are comparable to the Golden State Warriors in the NBA. Whenever they had success the media would pat them on the head... Until we have sustained success including championships, we will be the redhead of the NFL (sorry, Andy Dalton, you can't even be the readhed of OH!...browns have that nailed.)

Nathan Peterman to Start this Week.
dulles replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the Tennessee thing really hurt his stock. When Josh Dobbs came in and took his job, that really set him back. Then he had to transfer, sit, go to a less notable program. All those things can really delay development and/or attention. I'm hoping his early setbacks result in an amazing ceiling for him with the Bills. Would anyone be happy with him turning into Kirk Cousins? Could he be the next Trevor Siemian? Will he be better than the other QBs in his class? These are interesting questions to answer over the next weeks and possibly years. -

Chargers preparing for both Tyrod and Peterman
dulles replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Maybe they are confident they will knock Peterman out of the game... Or, they know that in order to prepare for Tyrod, all you have to do is run your fourth-down-and-inches defense...so by preparing for Peterman, they are also preparing for TT. -
Jerry Jones racially insensitive remark video
dulles replied to CanadianFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The comment infers that there is something uniquely negative based on skin color. This is a racist remark. There is no excuse for it. Jerry is no choir boy, so we should not be surprised. As he gets older and his "filter" gets weaker with age, the Cowboys will just have to invest more resources in surrounding him with people who can try to prevent or minimize these types of things. He was trying to get the guy in trouble, but in the process he opened up his mouth. He revealed one of two things: 1) a hint of his own thinking or his assumptions about the guy & fiancee - that they would resonate with racist comments. In either case, it is not right. -
I got to fly on a 747 this August...interesting plane. I'm sure it will provide lots of room for everyone. It was cool to fly in a 747...always wanted to do so as a kid. It was definitely a step down from more modern airliners, but you can't beat the spaciousness (unless you go military grade).

Forbes: Why Peterman is starting on the road
dulles replied to CanadianFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Funny! -
I cannot say I have any expertise on Peterman at Pitt, but I certainly like the decisiveness. It does mean our turnover ratio may take a hit, but I doubt we will start games with big sacks or go whole quarters with 3 and outs. KB will likely get utilized better and Matthews will start seeing more action on the crossing patterns which are his bread and butter. I think we might actually see our team become balanced in a good way. I can even conceive of ways that Peterman can make the Toldozer more effective!

Unfortunately, the Sabres amassed assets like the Celtics did, but then used those assets poorly. The Celtics and to an extent, the Sixers demonstrated a great ability to amass and utilize assets. Although the Sixers have had their misses along the way. Hopefully the Sabres can catch up with more recent choices, like the Sixers. We have no way to assess how the BIlls are doing on this front, but give it two years.

I'm looking forward to the new threads which will be started Sunday evening. Bills win...why didn't McD make the move sooner? Bills lose...see: TANK! -
That was special. Hate the stillers, but that was amazing.
