  1. I think part of their progress as a team was the departure of Peterson. As long as Peterson was on the roster, that position was locked, with less open competition. Their gameplans would also be hampered by AP - He was an all-time great runner, but I have always thought he was a problem on third/passing downs. I think it is similar to when we have Shady in and he is forced to provide pass-pro. I'm not sure AP was poor at that, but he always seemed a little disjointed in the pass game. With him out, they were able to be less predictable.
  2. It can't continue, can it? I need to check with some browns fans to find out how to cope
  3. I'm hoping we have several trips to Revis Island this Sunday.
  4. If that is true, I'd be surprised. I think that McD might go after that in the offseason if it is true.
  5. The rules to protect QB's only apply in full to the QB's who are the face of the franchise and the pride of the "shield." We've probably lost an average of one game per year throughout the drought due to this type of preference. It is also likely that we benefited on occasion during the run to four SBs. Obviously, the added attention to protecting the QB would have been nice back then. Jim Kelly might have played another few years, but we weren't doing him any favors trotting him out on that pavement otherwise known as AstroTurf! If we get to the place where we are consistently performing with discipline (blocking, tackling, positioning, etc.) we will see the calls even out.
  6. I think that's the truth...The defense is almost as bad as the offense. The lines are atrocious. The LB corps is definitely out of their element. Humber looks lost pretty consistently.
  7. It makes me wonder if McD was trying to make a point to Rico...weird how it all went down.
  8. It looks like we are marching toward 5-11, not 7-9. That will bring us a top 8 draft pick.
  9. Goodell didn't keep them here. Ralph kept them here. Roger and Jerry were buddies still. This all has to do with Jones' RB. Jones is convinced that they are going to the SB and he thinks Roger is sabotaging their chances. He should have kept Romo!
  10. After last week, we just go K-Gun/2 minute offense... Evidently Nate was working on that already. It would seem to put him at ease. BTW, imagine if Jimbo had radio communication with Ted Marchibroda back then like they do now...it would have been amazing. Jim was great at the K-Gun, but there were always a few times per game when he could have used a little more input from the coach.
  11. I'm sure their analytics dept. will figure out an excuse.
  12. I wanna see the guy with a Leon Seals! jersey!
  13. No, it was having to play in a cold state that made them bad!
  14. Don't remind me! I should have given a better indication that I was not commenting with too much seriousness. I was going to add TB to the conversation, but I hate to remember his successes. Me and my boys will often pull up the Nate Clements hit when things are especially going his way.
  15. Well, since we aren't the Browns or Niners, I guess I don't need to spend much time watching him anymore!
  16. Yeah, but JP Losman, Trent Edwards, etc. I guess I'm admitting I'm not that scientific in my analysis of college talent!
  17. 67? I think that's a little low...most folks just make their own threads these days. 31,205 threads with 31,295 posts!
  18. I'm always nervous about guys from nice weather...then I remember Jim Kelly played at Miami.
  19. It is hard to fathom just how depressing these 2 decades have been as a Bills fan. Hopefully we are close...
  20. This is a little off topic, but I've been trying to figure out who Peterman reminds me of...perhaps its Rivers or maybe Eli? Hmm... Anyhow, Rivers might "drop some points on us" or he might just drop some int's to us. He's very unpredictable. I wouldn't be shocked to see us perform better this Sunday.
