  1. If they cant get Rosen, Mayfield or Darnold, I really hope they stay put in the first round.
  2. Just curious, what did he post on instagram?
  3. McDermott is an unusual case...he was pretty much the de-facto GM during this past draft, as it was no secret that Whaley wouldn't be around long enough to even meet most of the draft picks when they came to Buffalo to singn on. And, McDermott pretty much chose his own GM. It isn't like that with most franchises...I don't think it will be in Indianapolis either. The Bils "greatest comeback" probably means very little to Chris Ballard or Jim Irsay. Reich isn't even their first pick to be HC. The Colts may have their answer at QB, but I would say that they have as many holes, if not more, than the Bills. I dont think there will be a desire to get fleeced, because of fuzzy, warm feelings of the new head coach and an unrelated franchise. If there were some player or players in Buffalo that Reich had some relationship, you would be more likely to have some opening...Reich hasn't been involved with the Bills franchise in nearly 25 years.
  4. Well, not for nothing, but about 33% of our roster could turnover by next season...we will have a lot of holes to fill.
  5. I remember reading Bill Parcells book, years ago...sorry, can't recall the name. But, in it, he said that Buffalo was his favorite place to play, on the road. He said that it was the most unique place to play, and he wouid use his teams performance in Buffalo, as a gauge as to how good they really were. He said, even moreso than Green Bay, Buffalo just epitomized a hard-core football town. He said he always considered Buffalo as the "best football city" in the NFL. He said if a player couldn't get up for a game in Buffalo, he wasn't his kind of player, If they played well, he knew he had a good team..if they got toasted, he knew it was going to be a long season. Of course, as I recall, this was way back when Parcells was coaching the Jets, so a lot has happened since, I would argue that Bledsoe's first half of his first season in Buffalo was likely the best QB play we ever saw in Buffalo, even better than Kelly, But, he couldn't sustain it. I do think they should have held on to him for another season. If JP Losman was ever going to be ready to be a leigit NFL starter, it certainly wasn't the 2005 season.
  6. I guess I didn't notice. I was pulling for the Eagles all the way, but I guess I was also in the "no lead is too big for Brady to overcome"camo, right up til the very end. And honestly, though his team lost, Brady was pretty amazing. I think, maybe, Collinsworth do the "big game" of the week, so maybe they are a little more steeped in Patriots lore. I certainly didn't think they gave the Eagles the short shrift. The only time I thought Collinsworth was over the top, was when the Eagles went for it on the goal-line on 4th & 1. The pass to Foles. He went on and on about how dangerous a chance it was, and how it could cost the Eagles the game, if they failed. "You can't give Brady the ball back, right before the half!" What was dumb about that, was that whether the Eagles scored or not, the Patriots were going to get the ball back before the half. In some ways, if they had failed to score, giving the Pats the ball back with 98 yards to go, was a better scenario than kicing it back to them. As gutsy as the call to go for it was, I think Collinsworth overstated the risks, quite a bit. To me, the choice of play that the Eagles went with was more gutsy than the choice to go for it.
  7. Nobody is perfect, but I honestly didn't detect him being extra awful last night. Still rather hear him and Al, than most of the other guys right now.
  8. Well, to be honest, the two possible "controversial" calls in this game, did not go in the Pats favor.
  9. The only guys I can remember ever really, really wanting the Bills to draft in the last 15 years or so were Lee Evans, Paul Posluzny, Cordarrelle Patterson and Kirk Cousins. Two out four...
  10. One of the highlights of the "drought" years for me will always be the game against Carolina, where Mario terrorized Cam Newton the entire game...
  11. I don't really think they overpayed Mario. He was awesome, until his last season...he got old.
  12. I've always thought Keith Richards guitar solo on "Sympathy for the Devil" was perfect...I've heard some live performances of it from recent years (probably mostly Ronnie Wood playing them at this point), and while the solos are still great, they are far more embellished and drawn out...I just like the direct relative simpleness of the recorded studio version...nasty tones, fit the song just perfectly.
  13. PFF is a fun read from time to time, but it is overall, pretty useless, in my opinion.
  14. Kind of a dumb comparison...but your loathing of Whaley and EJ goes unchallenged.
  15. Is Bevell that good, or was he just lucky to have Russell Wilson the last 4 years or so? The Seahawks offense has been pretty mediocre, beyond Wilson making huge plays, IMO. Beyond Lynch, and Russell Wilson scrambling, they have never been able to run the ball very well, their O-Line has been a weakness, it took them forever to figure out how to get Jimmy Graham involved in their offense, and they have never really been able to develop great receivers. I am not big on Bevell.
  16. As I recall, McDermott wanted Mike McCoy last season, his first choice. McCoy signed with Denver instead...he didn't last long there, only about a half a season, I believe. I remember them saying his offense was "too complicated" for the talent on hand..
  17. Is anybody doubting that?
  18. From what I understand, the Rams had intended for their jersey and helmets to match...but the NFL, being the sticklers that they are, wouldn't let them, because they didn't get the "paperwork" in on time to make all the necessary changes. I believe they will match next season. I agree, they looked terrible this year.
  19. Despite all the controversy, I think the Redskins have terrific uniforms. The Raiders are pretty great too. The "orange crush" era Broncos were another favorite...hate their current look. Right up there with the current Bills look.
  20. Fair points, but Dennison wasn't real hot commodity when we got him either.
  21. I wish things had worked out for Dareus in Buffalo, but at some point, the team can only go so far to help him. How many times in his years here did he express how grateful he was to the Bills, the fans, etc, etc. and appreciative of his opportunity in Buffalo. We've heard him say the right things before...but eventually he seems to backslide. I like the guy, I really do, he is a great talent, when he is motivated. I hope it works out for him in Jacksonville...but he is very much in the "show me, don't tell me" phase of his NFL career. Getting suspended in the pre-season was not a good move on his part. It sucks, because our defense was better when he was motivated...but it just didn't happen consistently enough.
  22. You may be right, but I perceive that a big reason for his drop in YPC was the ineffectiveness of the passing game, more weeks than not. I suspect the Bills are not the hardest team to defend. I really didn't detect McCoy himself, slipping at all.
