  1. The #12 pick in the 2018 draft?
  2. The Braves were my favorite team, in any sport. Damn you John Y. Brown!
  3. I think Bills fans really underappreciate Clay. He is an upper tier tight-end, on what has been a weak offensive team. Nobody catches everything...nobody.
  4. I had season tickets that year...I remember my father (a big union supporter) forbid me from going to a "scab game". I went anyways, because a high-school classmate of mine, from a few years earlier, was on the Bills scab team. He didn't end up playing...it was a bad game...though I swear, I have seen a few games just as bad, if not worse by the "real" Bills. There were a couple of Bills/Browns games, in 2007 and 2009 that were pretty damn hideous.
  5. Completely agree. By all accounts, Matthews is a "great guy", but he has never excited me too much as a player. I really hope they don't just dismiss Thompson, as he seems to have been throughout his career. He really did make some clutch catches for us down the stretch this year. His effort was quite noticeable. They need a burner or two, to add to Jones, Benjamin and Thompson.
  6. I kinda like the tight ends we have right now.
  7. I have seen them on every American tour since 1978. I understand the cynicism, and I agree the 1997 tour was not great (though, for me it was more the venue than the band)...but I will say, the last time I saw them, was one of the best times I have had in my adult life...they were great at the Ralph, it was a really great night...if they come back to the US, I'm there. Also, yeah, the tickets were expensive in Buffalo, but far from what ticket prices are for other shows. Tried to buy tickets for a show this morning...ticket prices ranged from $120-$260. Luckily, for me, it sold out before I committed to buying the tickets...
  8. Just wathched the first couple of seasons, over the last year...I think it is still pretty hilarious. The only thing my old man ever watched on tv was an occaisional college basketball game (Bonnies)...the one exception was "Mannix". Great theme music, though I am not sure how well the show holds up.... Another great one....MTM was so hot in her prime...and the show is still hilarious..
  9. Oh yeah, almost forgot all about that!
  10. Greatest theme song for the greatest of the "modern classics":
  11. Have you ever heard the version with lyrics? As song by Lorne Greene...
  12. Yes, I changed my comment to 2015, for the reasons you mention. Personally, I think Whaley was a good drafter. I thnk, had Marrone not left when he did, the "drought" would have ended a few years earlier. Rex Ryan was the de-facto GM...
  13. I think (though I don't know for sure, just speculating) this is partly skewered, because McDermott and Beane went to pretty extreme lengths it seemed, to purge the roster of Whaley players...I wonder where the Bills would have ranked in 2015, when it became Rex Ryans' show .
  14. Barnett has such a great melodic feel...and a cool as hell voice. Her songs just really creep into your consciousness...and I love her guitar style. Kinda reminds me a bit of the first 2 or 3 Liz Phair records...the good ones... You wouldn't believe, I have tried to see her 3 times over the years...the first time, my girlfriend got into a terrible automobile accident the evening of the show, so I skipped it. The next time, she was set to headline an outdoor festival here in Austin...there was a torrrential storm, the festival got cancelled, and she never rescheduled the show...then this past November, I had great seats to see her and Kurt Vile, and my freaking brother passed away the day of the show...I feel like I just wasn't meant to see her! Giving it another go in May! Anyway, really dig this tune from the Barnett/Vile reocrd...Jen Cloher wrote it...my favorit on that record:
  15. Love her! Can't wait for the new record...you checked out the Jen Cloher album?
  16. You know, I don't have Direct TV, or the ticket, though I suscribe to Game Pass every year, since they have offered it, I think. I do get the Red Zone, and the rare week that the Bills aren't playing at noon, I have tuned in to watch the Red Zone in liu of the Bills...I don't care how much action, I find it a miserable way to watch football...what am I missing? Maybe I am just too old... I know people who only watch the NFL via the Red Zone...if I had grown up watching the NFL like this, I don't think I would care one way or another about it. Is it just a Fantasy Football thing?
  17. Have to wonder if the traditional "I'm going to cancel my DTV unless I get a discount on the Ticket" hurts things as well...I would guess that plays a bigger role than protests.
  18. From the guy who hates everyone!
  19. If they cant get Rosen, Mayfield or Darnold, I really hope they stay put in the first round.
  20. Just curious, what did he post on instagram?
  21. McDermott is an unusual case...he was pretty much the de-facto GM during this past draft, as it was no secret that Whaley wouldn't be around long enough to even meet most of the draft picks when they came to Buffalo to singn on. And, McDermott pretty much chose his own GM. It isn't like that with most franchises...I don't think it will be in Indianapolis either. The Bils "greatest comeback" probably means very little to Chris Ballard or Jim Irsay. Reich isn't even their first pick to be HC. The Colts may have their answer at QB, but I would say that they have as many holes, if not more, than the Bills. I dont think there will be a desire to get fleeced, because of fuzzy, warm feelings of the new head coach and an unrelated franchise. If there were some player or players in Buffalo that Reich had some relationship, you would be more likely to have some opening...Reich hasn't been involved with the Bills franchise in nearly 25 years.
