What is your biggest Bills FA mistake
Buftex replied to BisonMan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Stupid post. I am no Flutie fan, but by what criterion do you judge him a FA mistake? Not a big fan of his personality, but he wasn't all that bad on the field for two years, and provided us with some of our better memories, in the post-Kelly era. -
Chris Brown article: Bills had 2 First Round picks before.....
Buftex replied to PIZ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You know, Mike Williams was not worthy of a #4 pick...if he had been drafted in the 3rd or 4th round, his career likely would have not been judged as harshly...he wasn't completely useless..even spent some decent seasons with the Redskins after we let him go. JP wasn't great (obviously) but he started some games, had 2 or 3 decent outings, at a position that we all know is hardest to fill. Maybin was pretty much a waste too...but he never really got on the filed while in Buffalo. When he went to the Jets, for a minute, he made a few plays. McCargo did absolutely nothing, for anyone, ever, at the NFL level. Though, in fairness, I think he may have recovered a special teams fumble, one time. The Bills kept him for the extent of his contract, becuase he was too cost prohibative to release. He was really terrible. If you recall, he was Mario Williams college teammate...lesser draft analysis experte were saying McCargo was mostly responsible for Mario's success in college...the Bills bought into the hype. He was never strong enough, or tough enough, to play at the NFL level. Most experts saw him as a 4th or 5th round pick at best. Even after Buffalo released him, he couldn't make it out of training camps in Chicago and Tampa Bay. I might give you Maybin as being worse, but part of my criteria for McCargo being worse revolves aroung the fact that when the topic of "worst Bills 1st round picks" comes up, McCargo is rarely mentioned..not becuase he was just okay...but because nobody remembers him. -

It's going back a little, but Joe Panos was the Derek Dockery of his times. An interior linemen. We signed him to a hefty contract, from the Eagles around 1997 or 1998. He was often injured, and just flat out terrible when he was healthy. -

I will always say, John McCargo was th worst 1st round pick of the Bills, sine 1980... and we traded up to get him -
Before he fell off the map when the Rex error started, Mario Williams was pretty fun to watch.

Oh, the irony.

Trump is as big a crook who has ever inhabited the White House. His only core political philosophy seems to be "pay to play". His womanizing is the very least of his problems.
-
Sure, the best way to ensure that the crook doesn't get into office, is to vote for the sociopath, who happens to be as big a crook as you can imagine. You should probably reassess your voting litmus test.
-
Ha-ha! I am not necessarilly a huge Clinton fan, but I do believe she would have a coherent foreign policy, and would have filled her cabinet postions with better people than Turmps' "best people". I have no doubt you will disagree..
-
I hope you are right...I just don't think McMaster would have been as likely to push Trump to staring another war, as Bolton is. I think the whiff of starting a war excites Trump very much...Bolton is just as likely to encourage him.
-
Exactly. Precisely the reason the appointement of John Bolton scares some people. He is the king war hawk. And, despite his expressed distaste for "stupid wars", the one area that Trump seems to be learing he can get some praise from both sides of the aisle, is when he flexes his support for the military.
-
Sorry, I wasn't trying to imply that you are a Trump supporter. You've made it sufficiently clear that you are not. I can see where that would be insulting... I don't necessarily care about his infidelities on their own...but I also don't completely dis-regard the Russia probe. I think he is compromised. I also think it speaks volumes about the character of the man, that paying for silence, and insistence on NDA's in nearly every facet of his life (before and while in the White House), just really speaks to his credibility. He has such false pride, can never admit when he is wrong (even when it has to be obvious to his blindest of supporters), you can't help but wonder what lengths he will go to hide something that would embarass him.
-
It sounds absurd on the surface, and we all know it won't happen...but when you think about it, it makes as much sense as trading 5-7 premum picks hoping that you will strike gold on one pick.
-
Ignore the fact that he is the antithesis of everything Trump claimed to stand for, foreign policy wise, during the campaign. Bolton only furthers the theory that Trump has no core beliefs, only that he is using the country for his own self-serving purposes.

I wonder how silent Donald Jennifer fans will be when he never actually goes through with suing Stormy Daniels... or why he hasn't gone about suing all of those women who "slandered" him during the campaign, as he swore as he would do "first thing". Is his failure to follow through an admission of guilt?

Dan Patrick: Bills have called Browns about #1 pick
Buftex replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I admit, I have a hard time keeping up wit all of this...but suppose the Bills work something out for the #4 pick (with Cleveland) assuming Barkley doesn't get taken by the Giants or Jets? -
We have Groy. He is fine. We don't need to waste money on a center...get some low cost depth. Those guys are always out there.

Josh Rosen: will he want to play here? ESPN discusses
Buftex replied to K D's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Even if Brushci (who is an idiot, btw) is 100% correct about Rosens' attitude toward Buffalo, you still draft him... worst case scenario, you have a very valuable trade commodity.
