Yes. I don't follow college basketball closely at all..when they first hired Stevens, I was a little skeptical...he looks like he is 15. But he knows what strings to pull, he's not a cocky jerk, and the players seem to like him a lot. Of course, having Irving doesn't hurt... Unfortunately, I didn't get to see the game tonight. Had to choose between the NBA or NHL package...I was sure he Sabres were going to be competitive, so I pulled the trigger on Center Ice...now I can't sit through a whole Sabres game....also, when I checked the NBA schedule, the Celtics had 34 nationally televised games this year...likely more if they they are good...
-
Oh well, looks like the winning streak could come to an end tonight...but just nice to follow a team that is competing in their sport.
-
Would you start: Jared Goff (vs Saints. at home. minus leading receiver, Robert Woods) or Philip Rivers (at Dallas, Thanksgiving Day...I also have Keenan Allen as my #2 WR...too bad they don't play the Bills every week!)
-
Thank god for the Celtics. My other teams (Bills, Sabres) are almost unwatchable.

This roster is talent deficient...assuming McDermott/Beane get the time to finish their rebuild, we are still likely at least another season (2019) from the playoffs. I would rather watch Tyrod play the final 6 games, but assuming this coach is back next season, it really makes more sense to start Peterman. McDermott will "lose the locker-room" (if he hasn't already), but we all know, Tyrod will not be a Bill next year, and I seriously doubt guys like McCoy and Clay will be back. To realistically have a shot at the playoffs this year, they have to get 5, maybe 4 wins in these final 6 games. After these past three weeks, it is hard to fathom that happening. I can see beating Miami once, and maybe, the Colts....but not a chance they beat KC this weekend, or New England, home or away.

Yeah, the defense had 10 days to rest, and they got blown off the ball from the opening drive of the game, yesterday. I agree, the offense is suspect, but as Barber said over and over again (and over and over) yesterday, the Bills defense was so turnover reliant the first 5 games of the season, it likely blew their reputation up, defensively. If they don't get turnovers, they aren't going to win, more often than not. I know it is not the case, but it really did seem like they just gave up yesterday, pretty early in the game...that 94 yard rushing drive by the Saints was just pathetic. Like there was no real fight in them. I don't want say McDermott is "losing the lockerroom" or anything like that, but it is very possible they are starting to collectively realize that they aren't really all that talented, as many thought going into the season. Hopefully, a trip to the west coast will get them re-focused, but I am starting to get the feeling that 2017 is slipping away....

How well was Kelly received here his first few years?
Buftex replied to Another Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would say I have been to about 500 live sporting events in my life...some with very high stakes involved. I can honestly say, the noise and rumbling that we all felt in Rich Stadium that day, was the loudest crowd I have ever been in. I still get goose bumps thinking about it...our season tickets were about 10 rows up on the top deck, around the 40 yard line...I swear, the whole deck was shaking. Though they lost that game to the Jets, it was very apparent, from day one, that the Bills as a franchise were taking a huge step up in credibility. Kelly was awesome... -
Aaron Williams: Tanned, rested and ready

AW is an occasional guest/co-host on Ricky Williams radio show, here in Austin, He is pretty good. Wouldn't mind seeing the Bills or GR add him to their Bills coverage. -
So the Bills in all red, Jets in all green again? I gotta say, that is one of the worst looking games on tv. Of course, as long as the red team wins, it will be beautiful!

I am not a huge Holmes fan, I was baffled that he made the final roster this summer...that said, have we had a guy with better control of his feet on the sidelines, in the last decade or so? That and his size make him an asset. I think people are getting too enamored with stock-piling draft picks. I want to to win in the future, but I want to win now too! Holmes stays!

Can ESPN afford to renew MNF contract in 2021?
Buftex replied to /dev/null's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree. I think people have already forgotten about the protests, and how angry they were about them, by and large. While I also agree with you on the other reasons, I really think Mark Cuban was right... for decades the NFL has pounced on every penny, and, really, treated their fans like garbage...I think people have just become numb, to a degree...over-saturation. -
Judge: Is Buffalo legit threat to the Pats in the AFCE?
Buftex replied to SaviorPeterman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wish to god the schedule didn't have us playing the Patriots and Dolphins each twice, in December. -
I really hope I'm not watching Chip Kelly part 2..

The way I understand it, they are taking an enormous cap hit in trading Dareus. All that guaranteed money comes due. Personally, I think the writing has been on the wall for Dareus ever since McDermott got here. I really think, whether they are/were good and productive or not, McDermott and Beane want to be rid of any players that were cornerstones of the Whaley era. Sammy, Darues...wouldn't be shocked to see Glenn gone by the deadline...and McCoy and Clay (probably Tyrod too) will be gone by next season. I think it is a little short sighted...all those draft picks don't guarantee success. -
Schopp: Taylor is better than you think.

Schoop is not as negative as you think! -
I have been slinging records for about 35 years...during the 90's, when all this stuff was selling like crazy, I was a music buyer for Tower Records...I know a lot of stuff I can't stand! That Enigma record was huge! Though it's not really the kind of thing I go for, I think that is a pretty cool song.

Tampa Bay's last play among longest in NFL history
Buftex replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was at a bar watching the game...I had to piss so bad, I couldn't hold, so I went in the bathroom just as the play started. I got out of the batroom, and the play was still going on...okay, I didn't wash my hands...but that was a long play! -

I am a Tryod supporter, and I think he has played very well, in all 4 of our victories this year. That said, you guys who think Winston is not good are nuts. He may not be Aaron Rodgers good, but he is kinda Brett Favre good, in my opinion.
-
Agreed. Winston may be having some issues as a real NFL QB (though I'd take him as the Bills #1 guy in a heartbeat) but in Fantasy Football terms, I think he is really good. With his bye week coming in week 1, I would have been very comfortable starting him every week...but the shoulder injury put a dent in that plan. I am not starting him this week against the Bills, because of the injury vs good defense on the road aspect....but I think he is easily a top 10 guy. Fastest QB to 50 TD passes, back to back 4000 yard seasons to start his career, on a team loaded with offensive weapons. Its' still early on this season...I really think, if healthy, the Bucs are going to be a big factor in the playoffs this season, and Winston will put up great numbers. He;s had 3 games over 300 yards this season...out of 5..though really out of 4, as he was injured in the first quarter last week. His 3 interceptions in the season all came in 1 game...still got me 23 points in that game.
-
I think some of you are underestimating Winston.
