  1. I thought he was great...averaged 50 yards a punt, with a 45 yard net, on 6 punts. I have to believe, perhaps, he is dinged up...it wouldn't make a lot of sense to dump him too...unless they are afraid they will have a hard time re-signing at a later date!
  2. I'm a Tyrod supporter, but even I agree, that was a terrible throw. If Tyrod is only going to pull the trigger on a pass when the receiver is open, he has to at least be accurate with it. He wasn't on that play...anybody blaming Jones on that one doesn't know what the hell they are watching.
  3. Not ready to call him "McDumbass" just yet (I'll reserve that for whoever decided Tolbert was an adequate backup, or whoever pulled the trigger on the Watkins trade), but not calling a timeout on that last drive, and the handling of the timeclock at the end of the first half (as you mention) are concerning. How is it that so many NFL head-coaches have such obvious difficulty managing the clock in these situations? It is maddening.
  4. I'm leaning that way...
  5. A pair of tickets, from a scalper outside the venue, to see Keith Richards, at the Paramount in NYC. Paid $350 for 2 tickets...the scalper did a slight of hand "bait and switch" and gave me two (expired) tickets for the Virginia Slims tennis tournament at Madison Square Garden. I was, needless to say, so pissed!
  6. I had Winston and Jay Cutler, so I was in a jam week 1. I had to chose between Bradford or Alex Smith. I cut Cutler and went with Bradford...a move I had been contemplating anyways...as it turns out I would have been good either way. So now, this week, what do I do? Do I start Jamies, at home, vs the Bears? Or, do I go with the "hot hand" and stick with Bradford at Pittsburgh? I am really high on the Bucs this year (have DeSean Jackson and Doug Martin as well), but Bradford looked fantastic on Monday! What a quandary...
  7. I think I would go with TY Hilton, especially if Brissett starts for the Colts. He may not be great, but he can sling it. I think there is more upside potential there, than Blount facing that tough Chiefs defense, at Arrowhead.
  8. And, his Sopranos death will likely go down as one of the most gruesome ever...getting his head popped open by an SUV
  9. On top of that, he is a "total choad"...
  10. Except, if you listen to McDermott in the PC, he wasn't asked about Dareus specifically...he was the first player the coach mentioned in praising the effort of his defense. I suppose, that could be part of some ongoing attempt to get Marcell to buy in, but he went to some lengths to praise his performance.
  11. Funny, McDermott went out of his way this morning to say how well Dareus played yesterday! What does he know? Skip to the 8:00 minute mark if you are numb to coach-speak: http://www.buffalobills.com/video/videos/Sean-McDermott-Played-as-a-Team-/21f68e04-6928-49b9-a3c0-40257e10ba75
  12. It always feels good to win, but lets wait a few more weeks before we make definitive statements. The only definitive conclusion I can come to, this is a much better level of coaching than we had under the Ryan clowns. I am still not 100% sure that we are a more talented team...I want to see a little more. The first 7 games of the season are pretty tough...
  13. While I will agree, I would like to see our WR more involved in the passing game, I thought Tyrod was fantastic yesterday. He did all the things fans have been crying for him to do, over the last two years. He used the middle of the field, bought time in the pocket with his feet, and he took off when he had to, as opposed to the first sign of pressure. I know, the numbers don't blow people away, but I would rank that as one of Tyrods' 3 best games in a Bills uniform...
  14. The fan-base is in full "panties in a wad" mid- season form, I see!
  15. Well...I can think of bigger douches it could have happened to, but your point is taken!
  16. I have to say, the "tank" left me a little down on the Sabres too...
  17. Could we go after RG Alex Boone? Released by Vikings, because he wouldn't take a pay cut.
  18. McBean will "repeal and replace" Obamacare day 1.
  19. Really? I though Alexander looked really good the first two pre-season games. I agree with this...he hasn't impressed me at all. Clay has produced when he has been given the chance...his reputation for sucking, amongst the fan base is really overstated.
  20. That would not be smart. Beyond just the obvious, that it only extends the time he is exposed to injury, for a few days, he was the only QB throwing in practice...supposing Tyrod isn't ready week 1...you don't want a rookie starting with a rag arm...no reason to play him the entire game. Give him a series or two, and let him sit after that. Throwing passes and taking snaps from a bunch of players that aren't likely to be there in another couple of days isn't really going to do much for him anyways.
  21. He was a little before my time, and I respect your opinion...just a little surprised. He is generally considered one of the greatest backs of his era. I read his book (a great read, though, admittedly not really well written), and it seemed like a lot (not all) of the issues he had during his playing days revolved around social issues (ie: race related), or money...sometimes the two went hand in hand. History is normally kinder to guys like Gilcrhist who played in very difficult times for minorities. It seemed that his career in American football was stalled/hampered by a vindictive Paul Brown. I suppose, the most divisive Buffalo Bills player while I was growing up was Joe Cribbs. No racial issues involved with him, but money. I think he was one of the greatest players in team history, but most only remember him for holding out, and jumping to the USFL. To me, Cookie is one of the "all time" players in Bills-lore...I realize his time in Buffalo was short, but he was a big part of the first championship team. The Wall of Fame is just that...not every player on that wall is a Hall of Famer, and some are just honored for their role in team history, as much as for their accomplishments in a Bills uniform. I can't really give any kind of expert opinion on the AFL teams, but all my life, starting to follow the team in 1972, I remember old timers in Buffalo telling me that OJ wasn't half the player that Cookie was... not sure if that is true, but I assume a man with that aura and legend surrounding him is probably worthy of some sort of recognition from the franchise.
  22. You got two of mine! Ferguson, Jerry Butler, Joe Cribbs and Steve Freeman are 4 of my all time favorite Bills! I'd also like to cast a vote for Luscious Sanford, Ben Williams, Sherman White, Charles Romes, Mario Clark... love my Knox ere Bills!
  23. Exactly! I was no Doug Marrone fan, but this team was very close to being a legit contender, before Hurricane Rex came in and destroyed it. All they really needed to do was to dump motor-mouth Ryan, get somebody in who had a clue on how to run a defense, and mess with the offense as little as possible...not extending Watkins was dumb...trading him for close to nothing was really dumb...and it kind of destroyed any hope for this season. So, instead of being on the cusp of breaking this drought, I am having a hard time envisioning it ending before we get to 20 years. Whaley wasn't the problem with this team...not throwing in the towel on the new guys yet, but it really is feeling like Chip Kelly in Philadelphia...we now have the smartest guys in the room running the show...
  24. He likely won't have a great year with the Rams...and it likely will have nothing to do with him. The Rams were one of the handful of places that he could have gone where the situation will be worse for him.
