And yet it happened...doesn't say much for Bill Cassidy. He is either a stupid mother!@#$er, or a dishonest mother!@#$er...okay, I guess he could be both.

So, when you watch a game on tv, they show the local prom-queen singing the anthem, you stand in your living room, hand on heart? I am not making fun of that, I just don't ever remember experiencing that... now, going to a game is different...but the vast, vast majority of Americans don't attend games...

I've been watching sports since 1972. Thousands of games, all leagues...I don't remember once (except the Sunday after 9/11) being in a room of people watching a game on tv, where people stood up to observe the anthem. In fact, in the NFL, other than playoff games, and the occasional high profile prime time game, they don't even broadcast the anthems (except hockey!)...if people weren't told that these protests were happening before games, they wouldn't know the difference.

The funny thing is, the NFL has been, probably he strongest vehicle for American jingoism over the last 30 years or so...they have always been there for all the phony patriotic photo-ops...Trump is so scorned that the 32 billionaires didn't want him in their club, he went after them, and burned what should be an easy ally, for a fairly unpopular president. America has always loved the NFL. He can't even make the easy layup..

Your on to something...I wouldn't be surprised, a year from now, there is no national anthem before games.

Just suppose the Bills beat the Broncos tomorrow...what difference will their assumed protest mean to you? Why can't you ignore it?

I think a lot of white players will "neel"...veterans fought and died so that we could live in a free country where people are free to peacefully protest...I agree, perhaps they should stop playing the national anthem before games...a flag is an inanimate object, it can't get dis-respeted...LeSean McCoy is right...

I don't think they should have gotten rid of Sammy, would have loved it (though understood why) if they kept Woods...but none of that has anything to do with the Ryan Juggalos... they couldn't win with Sammy and Woods, what credibility do they have?

We have an extremely thin-skinned fan-base...go to Watkins Facebook page...click on virtually any post, and about half the responses are from bitter Bills fans, telling him he sucks, he's a china doll, yadda yadda yadda...often with that stupid #Billsmafia hashtag. It is pretty embarrassing...

I feel like I saw this story about a year or two ago...I find it hard to believe that this could go on for 7 weeks, and nobody could catch this person...like she is Sasquatch or something....fake news? It just doesn't pass the smell test...

Yep... Ignoring the fact that striking on a QB in the draft is like winning millions on a lottery, it is much easier to say the GM sucked if a 1st rounder doesn't pan out. To me, Whaley was never the problem with this team...

I think if he was allowed to function as a real NFL GM (ie: not Rex Ryan's servant) he would have been fine. I believe he is responsible for bringing us Jordan Poyer, btw...

Can't wait to watch this! Got part 1 DVR'd. In an attempt to distract myself from politics, I made a conscious decision to watch more football, and less news this fall...depressing, huh? But, this looks great...

I said to my buddy as we were watching this game..."you know, as miserable as this game is, if they end up winning 10-9 we will be one of the high-lights of the season". As ineffective as our offense was, it is important to note, the Carolina defense is pretty damn good too! It was a real nail-biter...if only they coulda' pulled it out on that last drive! Yes, that was bad...but I don't think Jauron would have called for that...
