  1. He's had 22 career fumbles in 137 NFL games...2681 career touches...I'd say it is not really a problem.
  2. I'll take a well played lower scoring game anytime. Not saying they all gotta be 13-12, but 20-17 is fine by me. I really miss good defense.
  3. I think it is a combination of both...coaches realize that passing is a better way to move the football, because the rule changes have made it that way. Sal and Jeremy had a pretty interesting discussion this morning about how dramatically passing stats have gone up since 2011, with the CBA, and rule changes that were introduced then. They were speculating that, if healthy, the way the game is now, more than a handful of the current young QB's may very well supplant Drew Brees as the yardage leader...it is the way the game is trending. I love a good shootout, but to be honest (warning: old guy take) I am getting a little numb to them. Granted, if I wasn't a Bills fan, I likely would have found the Bills/Titans game kid of dull, I am not so sure it would have been much duller than the Saints/Redskins game on Monday Night.
  4. Sorry...how could I have forgotten?
  5. #4 makes you kind of a dick. As for the rest, agree about the lack of use of Clay and McCoy...but I am not writing off Daboll just yet. I like some of what I see from his game plan...I will give them a season to see how things pan out. I do like some of the screens that they have been running...use guys on the roster, you may find out that they aren't as talentless as is percieved.
  6. I like Graham too, but as I recall, his play had fallen off some in his final days in Buffalo too.
  7. I think Pro Football Focus is as bad for football as the new roughing the QB rules...I !@#$ing hate that site.
  8. I know...but when is the last time the Sabres got off to a 2-1 start? Seems like years since I could look at the NHL standings and see the Sabres with a winning record..even if it is only 3 games in.
  9. Don't look now, but the Sabres are off to a 2-1 start.
  10. I kind of agree. I like Allen, and I am not giving up on him at all...but I think Bills fans (as we are ones to do) are going a bit overboard in shreddig Benjamin. True, he had the unfortunate drop on the goal line a few games back, but a lot of the balls being thrown his way are just not very good passes...he's a huge guy, but he isn't 10 feet tall...and asking him to get shoe-string catches half the time isn't really fair either. Sure, I'd like to see more from him, but lets' not pretend that his problems are all his.
  11. He has won me over...I am still not 100% sold on some of the personel moves that have been made, but I am not sure how much of that his him, and how much of it is Beane. I think he has a fair amount of say. But I trust the guy as a coach.
  12. So that is two days before the MNF game against New Engalnd, and one week from the trade deadline.
  13. Going into the 2017 season, I felt worse about that team than I have any Bills squad this century. How they won 9 games is a little mystifying. I give McDermott a lot of credit for that. But, that said, this team, by all measures was/is worse than that team. I felt that 5 or 6 wins were the most we could expect, but had my fingers crossed that I would be wrong again...not getting that feeling so far...maybe they get better as the season goes on, which happens with young/bad teams sometimes....but I just don't see it translating into much more than 4 or 5 wins. This team has issues...
  14. I thnk the song you are referring to is by Dan Baird, from the Georgia Satallites. "I Love You Period"
  15. For me, the "Blood On the Tracks" box set, as well as the Bobbie Gentry complete Capital recordings box set (86 previously unreleased tracks!) are my muses.
  16. Funny....I am glad I am not the only one having that issue. I am a little maladroit sometimes, so I always assumed it was me not shutting off the app properly...can't tell you how many times I have been at work, only to have Shcop and Bulldog screaming from my pockets, just out of the blue! It freaks people out!
  17. To be fair, as I remember (season ticket holder at the time) Ferragamo moved the ball between the 20's pretty well through the air, they just couldn't score....
  18. I think the majority were inaccurate passes....lots of balls that Wilt Chamberlin wouldn't have been able to catch on the deep balls...and just off target on the shorter passes. Not giving up on the kid, but it was a sort of EJ-esque performance. To be fair, he had a lot of pressure at times, and I think it caused him to hear footsteps at times... I think most of what he threw yesterday would fall into the 'uncatchable" category.
  19. We will probably have a better idea in about 6 or 7 years.
  20. I don 't know if that is as true as it once was...it seems like 350-400 yard passing games are becoming the norm. The Vikings/Rams game tonight...the Bucs/Steelers game on Monday...what constitutes a "good defense" anymore?
  21. And yet, I gurantee you, if social media was then, as it is now, everybody would think these guys were all horrible too.
  22. I'd go with Tannehill, Flacco or Mayfield...in that order. Tepting to snag Allen, but his receivers are not reliable enough.
