A few thoughts about the Titans game, in no particular order

#4 makes you kind of a dick. As for the rest, agree about the lack of use of Clay and McCoy...but I am not writing off Daboll just yet. I like some of what I see from his game plan...I will give them a season to see how things pan out. I do like some of the screens that they have been running...use guys on the roster, you may find out that they aren't as talentless as is percieved. -
Ex-Bill and Buffalo native Corey Graham benched in Philly
Buftex replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like Graham too, but as I recall, his play had fallen off some in his final days in Buffalo too. -
Bojorquez should be cut

I think Pro Football Focus is as bad for football as the new roughing the QB rules...I !@#$ing hate that site. -
I know...but when is the last time the Sabres got off to a 2-1 start? Seems like years since I could look at the NHL standings and see the Sabres with a winning record..even if it is only 3 games in.

Don't look now, but the Sabres are off to a 2-1 start.

Like: Flea Flicker... Dislike: Flea Flicker to KB

I kind of agree. I like Allen, and I am not giving up on him at all...but I think Bills fans (as we are ones to do) are going a bit overboard in shreddig Benjamin. True, he had the unfortunate drop on the goal line a few games back, but a lot of the balls being thrown his way are just not very good passes...he's a huge guy, but he isn't 10 feet tall...and asking him to get shoe-string catches half the time isn't really fair either. Sure, I'd like to see more from him, but lets' not pretend that his problems are all his. -
This wont go over well...but Sean Mcd is a good coach
Buftex replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He has won me over...I am still not 100% sold on some of the personel moves that have been made, but I am not sure how much of that his him, and how much of it is Beane. I think he has a fair amount of say. But I trust the guy as a coach. -
Going into the 2017 season, I felt worse about that team than I have any Bills squad this century. How they won 9 games is a little mystifying. I give McDermott a lot of credit for that. But, that said, this team, by all measures was/is worse than that team. I felt that 5 or 6 wins were the most we could expect, but had my fingers crossed that I would be wrong again...not getting that feeling so far...maybe they get better as the season goes on, which happens with young/bad teams sometimes....but I just don't see it translating into much more than 4 or 5 wins. This team has issues...

I thnk the song you are referring to is by Dan Baird, from the Georgia Satallites. "I Love You Period"

For me, the "Blood On the Tracks" box set, as well as the Bobbie Gentry complete Capital recordings box set (86 previously unreleased tracks!) are my muses.

WGR is ditching its App for Radio.com
Buftex replied to BuffaloRush's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Funny....I am glad I am not the only one having that issue. I am a little maladroit sometimes, so I always assumed it was me not shutting off the app properly...can't tell you how many times I have been at work, only to have Shcop and Bulldog screaming from my pockets, just out of the blue! It freaks people out! -
Have a question (couldn’t watch the game)
Buftex replied to ShakAttack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the majority were inaccurate passes....lots of balls that Wilt Chamberlin wouldn't have been able to catch on the deep balls...and just off target on the shorter passes. Not giving up on the kid, but it was a sort of EJ-esque performance. To be fair, he had a lot of pressure at times, and I think it caused him to hear footsteps at times... I think most of what he threw yesterday would fall into the 'uncatchable" category. -
I don 't know if that is as true as it once was...it seems like 350-400 yard passing games are becoming the norm. The Vikings/Rams game tonight...the Bucs/Steelers game on Monday...what constitutes a "good defense" anymore?
-
And yet, I gurantee you, if social media was then, as it is now, everybody would think these guys were all horrible too.
-
I'd go with Tannehill, Flacco or Mayfield...in that order. Tepting to snag Allen, but his receivers are not reliable enough.

Is Thad Brown the dumbest Bills media personality?
Buftex replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm sure he is a great guy, but from a purely football point of view, I agree with this 100% I hope we never have to find out, but suppose the Bills are a legit competitive team this season, and Allen has to miss time for an injury....how the hell can they put Peterman in as a starter again? I don't want to exaggerate, but he may be the worst QB I have seen start a regular season game for the Bills, in my 45 years of watching this team...they got too cute and cockey in trading McCarron, for what? A fifth round pick who is 50-50 to make the team? Not to say that he is any great shakes either, but at least McCarron has proven that he can function as an NFL QB if needed. Peterman hasn't shown that, not even close.. to be relying on him as the sole back-up for Allen, at this point, is kind of irresponsible, in my opinion...they've wasted two weeks...sign a Matt Moore, or some other FA journeymen...if you don't want to cut the kid, fine...but have another option. One of my favorite Chan Gailey moments during his tenure as Bills coach, was the way he handled cuttting Trent Edwards. If you recall, he named Edwards the starter week 1, he was terrible, and cut the week after the game. I loved what Chan said, when the media was mocking him....paraphrasing, but he said something like "Trent is a great kid, a great teammate, but he just couldn't get the job done, after numerous opportunities...I just never wanted to find myself in the position of putting him in as a starter again. I've seen everything I need to see from him as a QB" -
Bill Cosby sentenced to 3 to 10 years
Buftex replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in Off the Wall Archives
LIke most here as a kid I thought he was funny, loved Fat Albert and all...but when the Cosby Show was ruling the airwaves, and I was a little older, I remember him being on talk shows and just thinking he seemed like an arrogant, miserable person. I think some thought that was just a schtick, but I really thought that was him... -
I guess I don't follow you here...
