  1. I hope Beane waits until training camp starts before making any decision. See what #46 & #33 look like with another year experience. Also see if poyer loses a step as he is getting older. I like Poyer but don't think he sticks around unless it's a real team friendly deal. Wouldn't shock me to see him get traded.
  2. I know it tells his blockers but is it actually in the rule book the same way the fair catch signal is? If not it will be. The NFL wrote/worded so many rules specifically to remove judgement calls from the refs. Was tough to hear common sense officiating when it should be black and white.
  3. Is that arms out gesture that many returners have been making an official fair catch signal? They all do the same and I always just thought it was just to tell their team, not an official signal. Some rules have room for judgement others do not. This one doesn't. Unless that's an official fair catch type signal...betcha it will be next year...that was a live ball. Sucks but it is what it is.
  4. Total crap but they called it by the book. I thought this rule was added to stop blind side blocks after ints etc. but they've been calling it on o lineman this year because of how the rule is worded. This has to be changed in the off season. What's the guy supposed to do...just let him hit the QB???
  5. I really wanted Cooper at one point this year but then he just disappeared down the stretch. Don't think I'd trust him to be that true #1 difference maker anymore.
  6. Kind of an unwritten rule i think. Typically people don't want to work for a company that blocks your career advancement. Wouldn't be surprised if Frazier gets some looks for a HC. After we lost what's his name..Petite?...to the browns a few years ago nothing will.
  7. Knox can catch. For all the drops he's made a few really good catches. The 1 handed yesterday was awesome. He just needs to concentrate on the easy ones and look the ball all the way in rather than looking to run. On the Allen sack fumble he should have never been left 1 on 1 with their best pass rusher. No TE should.
  8. Some bad decisions bringing the kickoffs out of the end zone today but overall he's been solid. Think back to how horrendous our return game was last year with the muffs, etc.
  9. Tre's pick was nice. Our D needs to force more turnovers. Milano was everywhere. Josh seams to have very good control of the offense. We didn't limit Singleterry's touches...finally.
  10. I've been assuming there's a mental aspect missing with Foster and Duke. They have to be able to read the defense and adjust their routes so they are where Josh expects them to be. If you don't know what you're doing you don't play.
  11. I'm assuming the issues with Foster and Duke are mental. They have to be able to read defenses too, sometimes on the fly. Don't know what you're doing you don't play. Amari Cooper will likely be available.
  12. The ruling on that play was that Josh never actually possessed the ball. Right or wrong they ruled he just tapped the snap to the guy in motion. On the jet sweep type play as long as the QB possesses the snap he can flip it any way he wants to the receiver running in front of him including underhand and it will be considered a forward pass. They got the call right last week. We're on to Miami.
  13. We need to do sign Cooper to a huge FA contract this spring. Imagine him on 1 side, JB on the other with the Beas working the slot? Plus a more seasoned Knox.
  14. I've just noticed that after the Saints got screwed earlier this year when refs blew a play dead as an incomplete pass (not a play like this) rather than letting the 80+ yard fumble return for a TD, the refs have been letting things play out more often...especially late in close games. Basically a CYA type thing. Also it doesn't matter on this play if the ball goes forward, as long as it doesn't clearly go backwards. It can go straight up and would still be considered incomplete if the WR drops it.
  15. Because all turnovers are reviewed the refs are letting things play out so they can ensure it gets reviewed and is correct without a coach having to challenge.
  16. This wasn't a one off, it's quite common and has been around a few years. We've been running it all year. So have many other teams. It's already been evaluated from an officiating standpoint as well. Some call it a pop pass and does not have to go forward to be ruled incomplete. When the play first came out the QB often turned and handed it off to the WR running behind them. When that was botched it was a fumble. Now the WR always runs in front of the QB and the QB & WR are never touching the ball at the same time.
  17. I'm surprised so many think that was a fumble. This play isn't a new thing this year. This has happened to a lot of teams going back to last season at least and I've heard the in booth ref explain exactly why it's an incomplete pass so many times including today. As long as the QB catches the snap he can toss it underhand straight up in the air and it would be considered a forward pass. It does not have to actually go forward. Now if the QB tosses it backwards then it would be a fumble. That is why they never just hand it to the WR, its always tossed so it's considered a pass. I was so excited that we sealed the game but as soon as the 1st replay i knew it was coming back.
  18. It's my understanding that our DTs job is to stay in their gaps and clog up the o-line to make sure they can't get to the LBs on the 2nd level, not shed blocks to try and make a play. We play gap control team defense. When everyone holds their gap there's nowhere for the RB to go. In your research did you find what adjustments we made in games? Last week AP ran for over 100 in the 1st half. We shut him down in the 2nd. Against the Giants Barkley ran for like 70 on the 1st drive then shut him down too.
  19. Hope the Cowboys give it to him. That way I'll know they'll be mediocre for years to come.
  20. Considering that he's a 2nd year QB that should still be considered pretty raw, it's way too early to be concerned. I think we'll have a decent understanding of the type of player that he'll be by midseason or so.
  21. What did the 5 fingers say to the face????
