  1. I can think of dozens of reasons why it would take longer than 18 months. Discovery, depositions, video tape depositions, motions, expert witnesses, evidence availability, site investigation and on and on. Just juggling the schedules of the lawyers, the parties, the witnesses and everyone else involved can slow things to a crawl. A billable hour is when a lawyer spends an hour of their time working on the client's case and yes, they do get paid for that just like mechanics, doctors, plumbers and electricians. The reason people pay for that work is because as with plumbers, its worth it. As for speedy trials, everyone willing to quadruple the taxes already paid every year to keep the courts functioning at a faster pace, raise your hand.
  2. Weakest? Punter. We only have one and he stinks. He will cost us 1-2 games this year.
  3. I remember when Josh was drafted I used Lamonica as an example of how successful a QB can be despite having a low completion percentage in an argument with one of the many acolytes of the Church of the Holy Completion Percentage who just couldn't get over our not drafting the other Josh.
  4. Has "bringing in a veteran" actually worked for us at CB in the past? Davis retired at halftime, EG Gaines was knocked out by injury (twice) and Norman was less than mediocre. I would think that Beane would be pretty hesitant to take that bus again.
  5. I think too many of us are letting Tyreek Hill live rent free in our heads. Maybe the fastest player we ever had, Marquise Goodwin, never panned out. Seems like most smallish speed guys not having Mahomes and Reid on their side end up like Tavon Austin, over-drafted. There are some pretty fast guys with size out there but likely gone before 25. The best alternative is a big target, contested catch guy which is a type we currently do not have on the roster, unless Hodgins somehow rises from the depths of the practice squad. If Jameson Williams is there you sprint to the podium but after that, Burks, Watson, Pickens , London and Tolbert would be the guys I'm most interested in.
  6. I don't think any tires need to be kicked here, there is plenty of film on Gilmore, Beane knows all he needs to know about him.
  7. Do we know that Beane didn't take a shot at Mack or that Mack wasn't interested in Buffalo?
  8. I don't know, I think maybe this is not the last we will see of Baker Mayfield. I think his second act will be much better than the first.
  9. Exactly. It happens every year, DT's go sooner than predicted.
  10. Josh Allen, the Harrison Bergeron of the National Football League.
  11. Win at all costs? Pass. We can win without such desperate personnel gambles. Hunt has been contrite and kept his nose clean. I am glad his career survived his mistake. However, given that our most famous player from an historical standpoint is a notorious double murderer who practically beheaded his ex-wife, maybe we aren't the best franchise in the league to gamble when it comes to violence against women.
  12. Why not go with a a guy 6-5 who runs a 4.4? I'm talking about you Christian Watson. I don't want to mimic the chiefs with the cheetah, I think big targets with speed are more effective. Guys like Tyreek are incredibly rare, odds are we won't find one. Besides who had the better game, Davis or Tyreek? Sign me up for a Mike Evans, Deandre Hopkins, Davante Adams type. I love Watson but there are others in that same mold in the draft this year. Drank London for example.
  13. hmmmm....it almost seems as if a pass rush is important....
  14. Oh good, another perspective from which to observe, prolong and exaggerate our misery.
  15. clock doesn't run on a 2 point conversion or an extra point kick
  16. Is the "source" just another pod caster, i.e., some dude with an iphone and some time to kill?
  17. Yes. in 1985, in a backgammon bar. Yes, that used to be a thing. Miami fan started it when he said "Only a loser would root for a loser team like Buffalo". I feel I had no choice.
  18. We have no king but the King in the North whose name is Josh. Our swords are his from this day until his last day. He is the White Wolf, the King in the North
  19. The game gathers and now my watch begins, it shall not end ’til the game is won. I shall allow no sacks, I shall commit no holds, I shall draw no flags. I shall live and die at my post. I am the sword in the darkness. I am the shield that guards the realms of Josh. I am the wall. I pledge my life and honor to the Ice Watch for this night and all the nights to come.
  20. I honestly barely remember those super bowls. What I remember was all the winning. Week in, week out, for years and years, we just won and won and won and then won some more. There were times I thought, "no way we win this one" and then we'd win. We would have injuries, bad calls, turnovers and crazy weather all going against us and we would win anyway. A decade of excitement, hope, adventure, grief, joy and winning. Lots and lots of winning. We were crazy lucky and crazy good. And that is what I remember.
