  1. I will run out of dip before I run out of chips. Tragedy ensues.
  2. I believe that "kick the tires" is one of the things the Knights of Ni cannot say.
  3. I think it was pretty optimistic to predict that the checkdown was going to pick up 12 yards. There were two defenders in the area with only Beasley there to block. I think it ends up two on one and down for a 3 - 4 yard gain at best. Meanwhile, Diggs is open and it was doubtful that Josh had the time to get to the checkdown. I am a subscriber and love their analysis but I do think that they too often are overly optimistic on the alternatives Josh passed up or didn't get to and underestimate just how much pressure Josh is under given the weaknesses in the OL. I usually skip right to the film. The charts are not readable. It would help if they at least had a cursor to point at what they are talking about and what it means, I enjoy the film review part and find it fascinating. I would pay extra for them to use the word "concept" less than 437 times each show. Could use a little more humor.
  4. How can you people blithely prattle on about this tragedy as if it were nothing? Do you not realize how this is going to effect my fantasy team? Have some respect for my grief.
  5. Not another game coming down to an onside kick. One of these days our luck on those will run out.
  6. Brady? A sore loser? Usually he is such a model of dignity and resolve in the face of defeat. So out of character. 😜
  7. I suppose the day is not far off when we will award the win to the team that had the best statistics rather than the team that had the most points. The correlative proportional inverse relationship between points and a team being "good" lacks the asynchronous synchronicity between the integral truthiness of obscure stats and being good-ish. End the tyranny of real life experience and welcome in the new era where all games are simulated and outcomes statistically determined. Blessed be the Madden.
  8. Bobby Chandler by a nose over the great Tony Greene (37 career picks, twice had 9 in one 14 game season and had a 101 yard return, 13 fumble recoveries and 2 all pro seasons back when that meant something)
  9. I think when you die, God sends you to hell, but not forever. Just for a period of time roughly equal to the time you wasted when you were alive thinking about stupid stuff.
  10. Just what I am looking for in a RB, a guy who only catches perfect passes.
  11. If you take away the fact that he is dead, George Washington is our oldest living president.
  12. Is there any stat, too ridiculous, too irrelevant and too insanely picayune for even the most OCD afflicted numerical fetishist to embrace?
  13. So which incompletion are we going to see replayed all week accompanied with the comment that "Josh's accuracy problems resurfaced again..." I mean, he only completed 81% so he left a lot of plays on the field. 🙃
  14. For those of you who might need to adjust your fantasy rosters, I am once again on the double secret inactive list. My understanding is that my lack of experience or discernible skills on special teams or, for that matter, on any other kind of team, weighed heavily against me. I can't help but wonder if the all too common prejudice in professional sports against overweight, micro-lunged, diabetic senior citizens had something to do with my exclusion from the roster.
  15. Fact checking jokes? I will never again take the facts asserted in a joke at face value. 😜
  16. What makes the Klein move even more of a head scratcher is the fact that I was unsigned and available at the vet minimum at the time they signed him. True, I have no skills whatsoever but then again, neither does he. My much lower price tag should have tipped the scales my way.
  17. If he was a DE in college, was it fair to compare his numbers to DT's? I mean, if you measured the athleticism of nose tackles and then snuck in a slot corner, it wouldn't be surprising to see better numbers from the little guy. Maybe that is the way you get a truly athletic DT, by bulking up a guy who is quick and well balanced and see if he his can keep that skill even when bulked up to play a beefier position.
  18. And yet, these terrible coaches of ours have made it to the playoffs two out of the last three years and , at 6-2, are poised to make it three out of four. It is a mystery.
  19. Yeah, one win against him in his old age would make all the difference. Some of us are long over obsessing on Brady, some, alas, will never get over it. Sure, its better to finish a season 1-15 than 0-16 but fact is you are still a loser either way. I'm looking forward, not back. I want to beat Pat M. and Lamar Jackson rather than turning back the clock to battles long since fought and, mostly, lost.
  20. I don't feel this to be a big deal either way with regard to Brady. If he had stayed and we beat them and went on to win the division that would not wipe out the years of dominance and endless string of losses the Bills endured throughout his career. It is simply a fact that Brady is one of the greatest QB's to ever play the game and that he beat us like toy drum for years and years. Yeah there was some cheating and lots of help from officials but in the end, he beat us because he was simply better. The Brady era in the AFC East is over. We can't change history but we can own the future. This game is about the Bills taking a huge step towards winning the division for the first time in years. A quick look at the schedule will tell you that the Patriots have a good chance to gain some ground on the Bills in the second half of the season. Sticking them with another loss this week makes it that much harder for them to mount any kind of comeback. It may not be a stake to the heart of a rotting succubus but it is at least a bucket of holy water in the face of the most unholy Patriots.
  21. Defense needs to gamble, it can't stop anyone. Our "sit back and wait for them to make a mistake" defense is not tenable when it generates zero pressure.
  22. I'm seeing plenty of grumping. Perhaps grumping is in the eye of the begrumped?
