  1. Just want to pause and reflect that this has actually been a calm, reasonable and informative discussion. My thanks to all.
  2. I was at a gaming convention back in the '90's (yeah, I admit it) and I remember when that game hit, it was crazy. One minute everyone was playing History of the World and the next it was Settlers from one end of the hotel to the other. And hardly anyone knew how to play or had any idea what strategies were workable. It was nerd chaos and it was ugly my friends, ugly. And now the golden armed king of cool QB is playing Settlers. Never saw that coming.
  3. What would be the down side to testing all players daily regardless of vaccination status? Other than expense, I can't really think of one.
  4. My goodness people, can't we give the mods a break?
  5. First NFL player I ever got an autograph from, far and away my favorite player from that era. We were visiting Buffalo to see some family, I think is was the summer of '75, and we went to watch practice a few days before they were going to play the Packers in a preseason game ( I think it was the game where Robert James suffered a career ending injury). Earlier that summer, OJ got into a fist fight with Neal Craig, a defensive back. I remember Craig mocking OJ when he was signing autographs after practice. I remember the look on OJ's face, if looks could.....anyway they got rid of Craig soon after. Chandler was sitting on his helmet on the sideline during practice and we got close enough to get his attention but we had no paper for him to sign. He scrounged around on the sideline and tore up a used envelope he found, signed that, and handed it to us. Gave us a wave, we yelled "Go Bills!" and he gave us a thumbs up and went back to sitting on his hat.
  6. Only 10 pages? C'mon people, this is embarrassing. Training camp is only a month away and this is the best we can do?
  7. I'm not afraid to admit that I am old enough to get that ancient (1975) reference. For 10 bonus points identify the character that said "I love watching my women do little domestic chores."
  8. Nestle's Quik? Puhleez, I was always a PDQ man myself. Pity they stopped making it. Don't even get me started on Bosco.
  9. That's not the issue, he also wants to be able to break league rules. Rules the league and the player's union have debated, argued, studied and kvetched about for months and in the end, agreed upon.
  10. Ahhh, another chapter in the ongoing saga of "Anybody but Ertz", now streaming on Lifetime.
  11. Now hold on there, is this guy saying that coaches don't always blab their truest opinion of a player during a pre-season presser and instead just say stuff to enhance a player's confidence?!? Is he??? What an absolute revelation, stunned I am, truly, truly stunned.
  12. Brady reportedly breathed a sigh of relief when told it was torodol, not midol, that was being banned as he often gets a bit crampy before big games.
  13. They converted all that money into a signing bonus?! Wow that really hertz.
  14. Well if a Zay Jones thread is now the standard for relevancy, perhaps folks would like to know that yesterday, Lee Evans had scrambled eggs for breakfast. I would have bet he was an over-easy kind of guy. Thoughts?
  15. How many more innocent tables have to die before this madness ends?
  16. This could be the best draft of our lives but you guys are going to make it the worst. "Oh, but we don't have high pick Mickey", "there's no reason to watch, Mickey"...well kiss my $##!!!
  17. Normally I would say no but then I remember all those years when the Pats brought in guys like that and they turned around their careers because they were "that" team. Maybe now we are "that" team?
  18. This kind of addition is really emblematic of how this team is being managed. This team believes that players can learn, they can get better, their value is not a fixed, static quality. That is really what this team is about and Josh is just the most obvious example but you can find that ethos up and down the roster. It isn't because they are finding great players that were somehow overlooked. They are finding guys who just need to get a little bit better to really be an asset to the team and then they help them do just that, get better. And then they re-sign them. Coaches actually coaching? What is the world coming to?
