  1. Tuel looks like a decent backup but the fans will be clamoring for him by week 5 because of Manuel's play. I predict Losman/Edwards part 2.
  2. Darick Holmes, RB. Guy was a 7th rounder and not expected to make the team, but he had a killer preseason and even had many fans calling for him to supplant Thurman as the starter. Had a good rookie year as the #2 back and gained 600 or so yards. Hit the wall in season 2 and was out of the league by 1998. Think he's in prison now. I thought he was going to be our next great running back.
  3. Awesome awesome post. 35 here, going on 36, moved away from Buffalo in the late '90s, family was season ticket holders from '86 through '96, and every single word of your post resonated with me. It was a special feeling tonight. First time in a while I felt 100% unbridled pride in my Bills fanhood. Definitely felt like we were witnessing the end of the line tonight, the official end of an era. And as you said, one of the last two true dynasties in NFL history. Thanks for sharing.
  4. I like Spiller but I can't see him re-signing here unless we have a good year and make the playoffs. I'd trade him for a first round pick if I could get it. RBs continue to decrease in value and as good as he's been at times, we've never won more than 6 games with Spiller on the team.
  5. Out of games I actually attended: Jets '88 - when we locked up the division with a late Norwood field goal and the posts came down Rams '89 - Monday night. the first Frank Reich comeback I remember. Great 4th quarter. Broncos '90 - Place was nuts in the 4th quarter Comeback game Dolphins '02 snow game games i didn't attend: Dolphins '89 SF '91 Houston '89 Cleveland '89 (whoops make that '90 (playoff game)) SB XXV NE '11 Homerun Throwback Fins playoff loss '98 Minn '02
  6. Apparantly the photo was taken in Austin - not sure if that matters, but it makes it seem less salacious than Vegas. I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt here. When I was young, my friends and I did all sorts of stupid things. I even recall rolling up bills just as a joke and sticking them behind our ears and just idiotic stuff like that. Sure, this picture is a bit of smoke, but if he's rolling a bill right there with the intent to snort coke, then where's the picture with the coke?
  7. Pretty simple. I love football and I was born and raised in WNY. Also have always associated with the underdog, and what greater underdog than the Buffalo Bills?
  8. Dome should be a last resort. Been to a handful of domed games and the experience sucks. Totally antiseptic and i'd much rather sit on my couch and watch it on tv. Cold and snow are fine if you layer and dress properly. Bunch of pansies in here. The only argument for a dome that should be considered is the economic one.
  9. There's a lot of players I'd be happy with. Hard to pick one when there's no way of knowing how the first 8 picks will fall. Obviously, Mack, Watkins or Evans would be awesome, but I doubt they are there. Of the guys with a chance of still being on the board, I like Matthews, Donald and Ebron in that order. If for some reason Manziel slipped to 9, I'd grab him.
  10. I voted QB play because Manuel sucks. Could change if we pick up a decent qb before the start of the season.
  11. Right now, I'd put my faith in him at about 15%. I like his attitude and demeanor off the field, but I haven't seen much between the lines to make me believe he'll turn into a good NFL quarterback.
  12. IMO, Thad was clearly better than EJ last season, but that's not saying much. Neither is good enough to get you to the playoffs with anything short of the '85 Bears' defense. Still, I can live with Thad as a long-term number 2 so long as we find a viable starter after cutting Manuel this offseason.
  13. RIP Ralph. Thank you so much for bringing the Bills to Buffalo and providing me with so many fond childhood memories watching those great teams of the '90s. Condolences to the Wilson family.
  14. Sherman is clownish but I don't see the harm. Like others have said, at worst it amounts to WWE tomfoolery. As for those who claim he was beaten on the play, Crabtree only attained separation after pushing Sherman off. Still, he was able to recover and make an outstanding play.
  15. We're gonna suck anyway. Why not add some additional entertainment value?
  16. This QBR stat is one of the biggest crocks of *&%# I've ever seen. How is it that Thad Lewis throws for 2 TD's (against 0 ints) and runs for another while leading us to overtime against a playoff team, and ends up with a QBR of 16.2? The guy's actual quarterback rating was 100.2 in that game. And anyone who watched it can tell you he was the reason we even had a chance down the stretch. Plus, the notion that Andrew Luck didn't have a single good week all season. WTH?
  17. Examples of why we should throw in the towel on Manuel...now: Rob Johnson JP Losman Trent Edwards Ryan Fitzpatrick All guys who failed the eyeball test yet were given multiple seasons to retard our team's development.
  18. It's weird. Our offense finished in exactly the same spot as last year (19th) with about 70 more total yards. Yet, with the vastly improved defense we still finished 6-10.
  19. Remember when we were pining for Leslie Frazier and he wouldn't give us the time of day?
  20. Still can't read a defense and has accuracy issues. Holds the ball too long. He's basically EJ Manuel 2.0.
  21. I'm a UCLA guy so I've seen every game he's played in his career. Zumwalt is steady as they come and should be a decent run stuffer in the NFL. I think his stock will rise and he's a solid 3rd or 4th round selection. As others have said, not super athletic, but a gamer who gets the most out of his ability. And yes, he does lay the wood.
  22. lol...Thad is hardly the problem today. Chandler catches that pass and we come up with a better call on 4th and 1 and this is a one score game or better.
  23. They've had that "losing culture" ever since Marty left. Never not blowing big games they should win.
  24. Nah. We probably have as much or more talent as them outside of QB. It's just coaching/culture.
