  1. To be honest, it looked like he and some of the other receivers completely quit on the last drive. My Dad and I noticed that if they weren't the primary receiver on the play, they basically just jogged/walked their routes. Probably because they knew they'd never see the ball from EJ if the play wasn't designed for them. I think EJ could lose these guys in a hurry if he doesn't get it together.
  2. I'm with everyone else. Choosing to punt from the 43 after the penalty. Marrone was handed a golden opportunity to change momentum and he turned it down out of fear (or maybe just stupidity). Game was lost right there.
  3. This. Can you imagine EJ with the WRs and oline that Fitz and Trent had to work with? Maybe75 yards per game.
  4. I'd like to see what orton could do with all these weapons. And what's with the urgency to rush EJ when he clearly isn't ready. Let's ride the vet and let EJ absorb the game from the sideline. Worked for aaron rodgers.
  5. Jc...he was terrible today. Stats do not tell the story. Teammates will quit on him if that continues. Many already did on the last drive.
  6. Not sure what people expected from Goodell. He answers to the owners...period. Owners are raking in the cash and the sport, outrage be damned, is as popular as ever.
  7. if he has three more all-pro years and wins a couple of super bowls, then he has an outside chance.
  8. Some dumb decisions off the field, but by all accounts I've read, he's very advanced when it comes to his mental development on the field. I've also heard he's a good student. I'm a relatively smart guy but I did some very stupid and irresponsible things in my late teens while in college.
  9. He's young and his missteps are borne from immaturity, not malice. He's a great talent and I wouldn't have a problem rooting for him, so long as he continues to mature and eliminates the embarrassing actions.
  10. TY. Nice post. Hit the nail on the head.
  11. No. I'm just enjoying this moment for what it is. A young football team that's played two very good games. If Manuel continues to protect the ball and plays the caretaker role, I can see this season mirroring 1988, not 2008/2011.
  12. @ Texans in a defensive slugfest.
  13. Chargers don't really ever blow anyone out. I expect a Bills win. I think we play conservatively again and the difference is a defensive or special teams touchdown. Bills 23 Chargers 17
  14. Exactly. Bills' opponents are 0-2 against the Buffalo Bills. Consider that for a moment before heaping praise on the Bills for these victories.
  15. San Diego played a perfect game. I've lived here for 7 years and that's the best I've ever seen them play. They always struggle in early games on the road (outside of their playoff win at Cinci last year). I expect a Bills' win.
  16. Ohrnberger has been solid for the Chargers. I don't think there's that much of a dropoff between him and Hardwick.
  17. "But this is how we've always done it in the Catholic Church!"
  18. There is no more impressive 2-0 team in the league. That should be good enough for #19 this week.
  19. I live in San Diego. Chargers are mediocre on defense and they don't have a ton of team speed in general. Rivers keeps them in games, but I don't think they're anything better than an average team. If we protect the ball, I think we win. Something like 23-16.
  20. Not Easy to run against 8 in the box. Manuel has to hit throws.
  21. They are begging EJ to beat them but the kid is just so inaccurate. I don't see how he's ever going to be a good qb in this league.
  22. To be honest, assuming we get half way decent play from Manuel, we should win the next two games. I live in San Diego and am not very impressed with the Chargers overall talent. Pretty average team all-around. Think the Phish are the better of the two teams.
  23. Yeah, but we are talking about a dude that beat his wife and then slit her and another poor guy's throats. Kind of hard to feel proud when you see that guy honored in a big, highly visible way at your stadium.
  24. Yeah, Riemersma was a pretty solid tight end. I feel like we had another guy during the Bledsoe era that wasn't half bad, but his name escapes me now.
