  1. For all of the negatives about the players here, this was a referendum on McDermott, NOT Bean. Also, some of this issues that have been brought up, to me, are simply part of having one of the youngest teams in the league. When judging, I believe it’s critical to look at the complete picture as opposed to cherry picking issues to support your own feelings. He’s an above average coach and leader of men. Yes for me.
  2. Apologies. I meant points allowed by the D, not total points allowed as in hockey.
  3. I believe it’s important to remember that this position group works in tandem and a couple of changes, as mentioned above, can help all improve. I am hoping, however, that we grab Jonah Williams from Alabama if he’s still there at 9. He will be a bookend for many years.
  4. If he plays like he did against Miami moving forward, he will be a beast. I have little doubt he will, either. As with Josh, you can see the game slowing down for him.
  5. I have but also watched the games. He is certainly a man amongst boys in the NCAA but I believe it will take time for him to transition to the NFL. I would take him later, without hesitation, but not in the first. With that being said, I’ve been wrong before. ?
  6. NCAA has no limits on the number of players and no real cap to deal with (only limited scholarships). They also have a good deal of control over parts of their schedule. On on top of that, as mentioned, NCAA is kids whereas NFL is men...some mentoring required but not nearly as much required. Lastly, the NFL is the top 2% of the NCAA so you are dealing with the elite of the elite (or should be).
  7. I really don’t believe so. He is a poor route runner with a very limited tree. This will mean there will probably be quite some time until he can perform at a high level in the NFL (like most WR’s). He is, however, a great physical specimen and also has NFL pedigree.
  8. He was a true gamer at UA so this doesn’t surprise me. He was rock solid his SR year and darn good his JR year. With a year in our strength program, he should make quite a jump.
  9. I trusted the pick then and love it now. When looking at Josh, I believe it’s important to remember that he was a four sport guy in HS, never fully concentrating on football. Then, at JUCO and Wyoming, he never received true QB coaching. He has off the charts potential and I am so thankful we landed him. He is a winner and has a winners mentality along with unparalleled physical traits.
  10. This is spot on. The individuals calling for heads to roll simply don’t get it. It was abundantly clear what was happening since the end of last year. To be honest, they faired better than I would have expected this year. I love what’s happening at OBD.
  11. This is interesting but, I believe, it’s also important to remember that next years team will be far different from this team in terms of personnel. What’s important is the culture that’s being cultivated. This team played to the end and that should carry over.
  12. My son graduated from UA last month. He walked the stage with Hurts and Williams. The latter is a MOUNTAIN of a man and was rock solid during his career against top level talent. I hope we get him!
  13. People react differently to being part of a union. Some follow blindly and, add in the fact that he played with Kiko, and it’s not too hard to see what transpired.
  14. It was almost required, standing by another NFLPA partner, but I agree it wasn’t accurate. Kiko is dirty as evidenced by his play over a few years. Kid needs to rethink everything. Kyle is evidence you can play with a high motor and wreck less abandon and not be dirty.
  15. I agree wholeheartedly on what you said about Josh and I love it about him. I believe that feeds into the rest of the O believing that they can get a first no matter what. Being aggressive can lead to bad things and, conversely, it can lead to great things. We need to take the chance to be great.
  16. I like this. He’s clearly been beneficial to Josh and maintaining the continuity is important.
  17. On the first Miami drive, Kyle has a sack lined up as was tackled by their guard. He deserved that. He played lights out today. The catch ans run was BEYOND impressive, too!
  18. This is correct. Many guys on the line were lined up incorrectly which led to loss of containment. LB issues as well. If I remember correctly, they averaged nine yards on the Jet sweeps. It was an overall defensive failure, not simply Edmunds as many claim.
  19. It’s rather simple for me: I always root for the Bills to win. The rest will take care of itself but learning to win both close and meaningless games is critical. This is team is learning.
  20. I would take the time to look at the history of receivers and how long it takes the vast majority to make the transition to what they are fully capable of at this level. Yes, there are outliers, but the general trend is it takes three to five years. Ever heard of Robert Wood? Andre Reed? Tim Brown? Etc?
  21. I love sitting there. Far better experience, particularly in the line to get in: you do NOT have to go in with the general population!!! The food is not much better but the lines are! Also, there aren’t people vomiting which is always a plus. The warmers work best the higher up you sit: just an FYI. ‘Snooty’ people has not been my experience there. Just Bills fans who can afford more expensive tickets. Enjoy!
  22. He’s in his second year and will improve to a solid number two. It has been discussed in all of the Zay threads that the switch to the NFL for receivers typically takes a number of years. We we must be patient.
  23. Unfortunately, what we need most, OL & WR, takes the most time to adjust to the NFL. Given this, I am hopeful that those are two areas of concentration in FA with the draft going to BPA.
  24. Looking forward to seeing his name up on the wall down the line.
