  1. A lost roster spot for an ineffective player is the downfall. He hasn’t lived up to the billing, injuries or not.
  2. Yes! You nailed it! And we are definitively in the market now. Got to build the line from the inside out. It has become such a critical position, gaining more and more importance, particularly with a young QB.
  3. I’d agree with this. At this point, however, I’d take above average! That’s not it as the article states.
  4. It discusses how hard it is to find one. The complexity of the position coupled with the wear and tear. If if you can’t find a really good one, it leads to turnover. It’s the anchor of the line and we definitively need an upgrade there in my opinion.
  5. https://apnews.com/63008a82a936447da11e631ea259d78c “ Some might argue the center is the most indispensable player on the roster — the player who mans the only position guaranteed to touch the ball on every play. He calls the shots for the offensive line and begins each play. But an Associated Press analysis revealed that despite their unique skill set, it was centers — not running backs, linebackers or defensive backs — who were becoming more endangered more quickly than players at any other position . In 2009, the average center had six years in the league. This season, the average center had four years of experience.” We experiences this first hand.
  6. I agree. While an edge rusher is the sexier pick, Oliver has been a force. His knee issue shouldn’t be a factor. As with all picks there there is a chance he won’t hold up to his draft status but Oliver has excelled at every level. In addition, with our D being so poor against the run at times he should be a major help in that area (so long as we can somehow learn to set the edge).
  7. He is a monster who has been capable of disrupting offenses, that is for certain.
  8. Off the top of my head, Bruce. He was such a joy to watch play. Many others have made made solid arguments for others but, at this point in time, I’d go with Bruce. Iur D would line would be better which would make our DB’s better which would get the other O off the field faster which would allow our new-found O talent to excel. (Yes, I know that was the longest run-on sentence ever).
  9. For a guy who just started treatment, this is the best share ever, @YoloinOhio Thank you! EDIT: I should add that there have been some amazing people on this board who have offered to have bone marrow biopsies for me. It’s the definition of class and selflessness and I thank each of you! Bone marrow biopsies are, unequivocally, NO fun and that made the gesture all the more valuable. I say this In thanks, not to hijack the thread. THANK YOU!
  10. Unbelievable story. Overwhelming and sad but also showing great signs of strength. Thank you for sharing, Kirby.
  11. My response would be: about damn time! ?
  12. It has been written about many times. He has been part of good organizations and done excellent work (on the OL). We hamstrung him with the players he was allotted.
  13. Castillo is widely considered one of the best O line coaches in the league. Think about the players he had to work with this year: he never had a chance.
  14. I believe it’s the same as Josh: wide-eyed and trying to just make it to the next game. I believe he will be a very strong member of the team in the future but does need time to grow. He has all of the physical attributes required and will only get bigger, stronger and faster. As with the team in general this year, this year was only about growth and he showed it at times. Now to build on that...for Edmunds and the team overall.
  15. He was an average player for the most part but an extremely likable guy. Thanks for sharing!
  16. McCoy has a positive relationship with Josh, regardless of personal feelings based on news reports you read. Yes, he had a terrible year but he has been an elite player in this league and he needs another shot behind a decent line. Clay will probable be cut.
  17. The Senior Bowl was just like this year: once he calmed down and began to recognize what was happening, he excelled. Josh is the real deal and, with a complete offseason under his belt, his (and the Bills) future is bright.
  18. I’m pulling for the Colts...Luck deserves one. Other than that, anyone but the Pats***.
  19. Great info, 27 and I agree wholeheartedly. If they start fixing the line (I doubt it will all be done this offseason), get some receivers who play at a professional level and add some RB’s of value to spell Shady, I believe it’s a large step forward in this teams O. Near final steps will take place next offseason.
  20. Love it, thanks Yolo. The leap will always and forever be my memory of this season from a single play perspective. Overall, how they finished was the biggest takeaway. Still pushing for wins when it didn’t matter. It’s a great sign of what’s to come.
  21. Not being obtuse. The fact is, Beane has been involved with one draft with the Bills and that trade is part of what allowed us to move up to get a QB...and we seemingly had a replacement LT. The other losses on the line no one could see coming.
  22. Nothin in Bean’s ONE draft has told you that??? Come on...
